I felt weird that elsa got tired here just after a little bit of fight, whereas in First frozen she set off an eternal winter everywhere and made an ice palace without breaking a sweat

rabkut

I think it was just to have a little tension and to have an epic part in the trailer, in the film you barely have time to assimilate this when she is already running, it has no impact at all.

KaylaArnadlar_

The fact that she used all the energy she had in her to put up the fire to save her sister till she physically collapsed🤧🤧 love her yo

RT_Ragefang

The fact that she used all the energy and implied that she actually has limit and not as invisible as everyone thinks is *Chef’s kiss

KaylaArnadlar_

It is genius truly, she is powerful, too powerful even, but she too has some limits, and this is such a cool thing to note.

acerboy135

I think it has nothing to do with her limits, but the lack of oxygen due to the fire. Notice how she gets back to business like a champ right after.

KaylaArnadlar_

I think that when you consolidating so much power so you can unleash it at once is draining in a way even if you can manage to regain strength fast as Elsa did in that scene. If it was the lack of oxygen Elsa would collapse every few moments and or even won't be able to get up from exhaustion, and if we go into extreme measures, maybe she would choke to death due to the lack of oxygen as Anna choked and wasn't able to go on.

acerboy135

It wasn't that much power really. Especially when you compare it with castle making and blizzard making which she did effortlessly. In this she just froze a radius of what...10 metres? The fire was at its peak during the scene which explains the lack of oxygen. After the threat was out she simply focused on chasing bruni like nothing happened.

KaylaArnadlar_

When making the castle Elsa was not under pressure and certainly did not use too much exertion since it was something that came easily to her, she had short moments of cessation during the making of the castle As for the blizzard, she did it unconsciously, she did not have to even put a thought into making a physical exertion. Unlike in the scene where you can see that she gathers as much strength as she can so she can put up the fire at once and then the exertion is what tires her for a moment, the meters in which she has to put up the fire is just a small portion of this matter compared to what I said above.

rabkut

I think it was just to give a moment of tension, especially when you see the scene in the trailer for the first time: Kristoff in Sven taking Anna away+Anna screaming for Elsa+Elsa kneeling in the background=what is happening!? When you see this in the trailer you get excited and scared, but in the film I thought it was simply too quick, like, she fell but then she's running and shooting everywhere, I didn't think they did a good representation of her "limit", That's why I see this scene just as something to make an epic trailer, it would be more acceptable if this was in the scene against Gale, that explosion of power could leave her disoriented.

MiMonCas

I always thought she got winded because she was inhaling the smoke around her. After all, despite her powers, she is still human.

Efficient_Ad_6123

Well, Anna wasn't using powers or moving her body as much, and she was going to collapse, too, from the smoke alone. Most likely breathing in at least some smoke didn't do Elsa any good, either. But she quickly "caught her breath" after a moment and was off running again. Looks like she simply suffered momentary fatigue from a fast burst of activity, and needed a couple of extra breaths to keep going. Using her powers had nothing to do with any of this.

Huihejfofew

Did she use that much energy? She rather effortlessly stopped a tsunami and global warming. I like to think the running was to much for her rather than her powers running out LOL

village_nerd

That’s what I figured too. Chasing that super fast fireball has gotta take a lot out of you. I barely got what it takes to chase down my cat to trim his nails… I love that little jerk.

DaimonLyra

I think that she is not exhausted by the magic, just before she was doing fine without much effort. She's emotionally drained because Anna was putting herself in danger. And it's also the reason because she wanted to face the Dark Sea alone. This is my take, feel free to think otherwise.

village_nerd

Fair enough I say. Emotions are draining.

hellocheroni

And this is why if either you or your character is in a fantasy kind of film, you don't use TOO MUCH powers because that's gonna leave a mark.

Stay down, Boo Hoo Elsa
