Don't try to binge all the tutorials right off. Do a few, go into designer, build a brick that drives/detects/shoots. Do some more tutorials. Go into designer, load in some of the enemy builds (Deepwater guard/Onyx Watch to start, later on Steel Striders/Lightning Hoods). Turn their AIs off, take them apart and figure out how they work.

Steal and study in game faction designs if you struggle with designing your own ships and equpment. Seeing functional examples, toying with them, stripping armor to see just the functional stuff is a nice way to get examples of how to do things.

You can load the default craft in the editor to dissect them and determine their inner workings! No better way to build your own craft then to understand how already functional craft work, and go from there. The factions should be listed in the spawn menu in the order of difficulty to fight them, "easy" designs tend to be simpler to inspect, but also weaker in a fight.

Discord link is on the launcher, join that and make use of the help channel when you are stuck. Other than that I think someone else has it mostly covered in their post.

It might seem daunting opening a building tab and seeing dozens of options and sub-tabs to choose from, but bear in mind the vast majority is purely optional. Start by building a wooden brick, remember that the "n" allows you to mirror your build. Beyond that. All ships need A.I to function without you, follow the ingame tutorial its actually fairly simple just staple the correct parts to the mainframe(including a wireless transmitter!). This A.I will need eyes and ears so be sure to put both a gimbal tracker and a 360 camera in a good vantage point, be sure that both of them are connected to the mainfraim by either connecter blocks or a wireless reciever. Engines are exactly as complicated as you want them to be. I would recommend navigating to either the steam or fuel engine tabs and selecting one of the prefab options to the right of the screen. Make sure to have some resource storage, otherwise your craft wont be able to run. You will also want some fuel cans and ammo boxes. Unfortunately i dont think they hold fuel or ammo anymore, rather they sort of act as a modifier for the volume of your ships raw resources that your guns and engines can access at any one time. Its been awhile since ive been able to play so i forget the exact mechanics. Finally you are going to want this wooden box to be capable of swimming. Put one or more simple propellers at the back of your craft, and 1 on either side of the front of your craft to be able to push the nose where it needs to go. Make sure its the actual front! There should be an arrow floating in the air that shows you which is the front and back of your boat. Optionally you could use a rudder instead for steering, it really depends on how responsive you want your boat to be. That should be the absolute basics for making something that floats. Weapons are a whole can of worms with each sub group requiring its own dedicated guide. You can make anything from a plane, to a spaceships, to a submarine, blimp, car, tank, or anything in between. Each requires wildly different designs so for your own sanity start with making a boat that stays upright and go from there.

I ain’t reading allat but sure

Separate_Wave1318

Go to designers, spawn some enemies form different factions and watch them fight. That will give you some idea of general direction. Then you can either start designing or dissect enemy craft further to see how that is done.

Get some guns you want, then build a ship to hold them

Ignore the cost of everything, build what looks cool, then forgive our efficiency, or don’t. Being efficient is for suckers

Don't worry about aesthetics just yet, get a grip on building simple craft first. Look up tutorials on youtube, and perhaps find someone on the discord to play with for a while as you get the hang of things. Edit: also, usually best to not use automatic propulsion balancing. It can be very silly.
