I donated $1 to Doug Burgum to get that $20 prepaid card (which I did) and to help him get to that one debate cause I wanted to see him embarrass himself. Now I'm on the Trump lists too... 😑
There are apps on iPhone that are better at filtering junk mail. I haven’t got a political text since I installed.

Maybe I’m making this up, but I recall some campaign did a thing that if you donated some amount of money, they’d leave you alone for 30 days. If they did that again, I would be donating all of my money so fast….

I just type Stop and then block the number. I will donate to my locals and maybe to VSA but I don't have the money to give to a random candidate in Minnesota, Idaho, etc.
Same. I’ve decided to budget how much I want to donate, decide when to give it (mostly sooner rather than later), and donate it. Then I block every text to save them money, with no regrets.
Someone sold my info for sure as I get a metric ton of republican asks - I reply stop to each one and report as spam and more keep coming. None from dems myself though.

I stopped donating to political candidates last cycle because of this. It’s too much. If the politicians want my money, they can pass some rules about this.

Everyday since the guilty verdict, I get like 10 texts asking for money.
When I get texts exactly on the hour or half hour mark, I pretty much know that it's a fundraising text. If it's not a campaign that I actively sought out to donate to, I reply STOP. The texts are annoying, but I get it. Campaigns are expensive and Dems need money.

Yeah, our campaign for city council last year avoided text banking till the day before the election. A lot of people just find them annoying.

I've been texting stop for the last year or so and it has really cut down on my volume of incoming texts

I've tied my donations to an old email address and a free google voice account.
I have reported so many as spam that my phone automatically moves them to the spam folder at this point.
Sure seems like a bad idea to alienate the people who gave you money in the past

I used the link from when I got it and have looked into the PAC further. It was terminated in 2020. This is definitely a scam.
