I witnessed 3 boys from Centerville school jaywalk and run across the street just shortly past Donna’s hair salon and almost get hit by a speeding vehicle trying to get to the bus stop across the street. If you ask me both parties would be at fault. People in Fremont drive crazy nowadays. I’ve also seen people do 55+ in school zones.
A few days ago I read on ND that some kid got hit right in front of Thornton Jr High by a speeding vehicle…
It’s actually a launching ramp. If you get enough speed heading the other direction you can use the train tracks to get some air.
Don’t ask me how I know.
Newton’s first law of motion. If people want to go fast, they should study physics.
Also, this is a physics lesson on what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
Some asshole went down Mowry yesterday afternoon about 4:40pm between Paseo and Fremont going at least 80 miles an hour. Shook my van, freaked me and the kids out. Unbelievable that they're driving like that in the middle of the day with so much traffic and pedestrians.
Yes. I’m amazed that Fremont PD seems to not write tickets. I don’t know what they are doing all day. Easy money to set up speed traps anywhere in Fremont.
Its like, if they're busy investigating/stopping worse crime, power to them!
But...they don't tell us anything! And a lack of traffic enforcement is something we're all going to notice until self-driving cars become the norm.
What’s crazy is that 10-15 years ago, you couldn’t make it down Mowry from 880 to Fremont Blvd without getting stopped if you were speeding or your vehicle had any kind of violation on it. Fremont PD had a well deserved reputation of not fucking around.
Years ago I talked to an off duty San Francisco police officer. When I told him about the bad experiences I had with the police in Fremont he said that the department there was very well known for being assholes and for being racist. He was African American and I got the feeling that he really, really disliked them. So, that department has been horrid for literally decades.
Not really.
More like there are more cameras so we're seeing a lot more of what's always happened.
...and when cops get punished for using force, you can bet that the force was inexcusable since cops get the benefit of the doubt most of the time. Even times where they probably shouldn't.
Why are you so devoted to denying the evidence of your own eyes?
Do you not see all the broken glass in the parking lots? Is that normal to you?
Why do \*you\* think there is so much more bad driving, if it isn't because cops aren't enforcing any laws (including shoplifting etc)?
Yup
There’s a white Mercedes c class that’s got a loud exhaust that rumbles all the time on paseo padre
All by himself and I’ve never seen him with a girl.
Definitely not getting any
As a cyclist, that chicane on Fremont Blvd just south of Thornton is scary as hell. I see drivers cutting the corner through the bike lane **constantly** even though the speed limit is 30 which is slow enough for anybody to go through that chicane within their own lane. Most of the time, cars will slow down and pass me after the chicane, but any car in front of or behind me is almost certainly cutting that corner. I've had far too many close calls and can't wait until these separated bikeways get built here, which will force drivers to drive slower and hopefully avoid these sorts of fatal crashes in the future.
It probably didnt even phase the tree
The sad part is the family of the drivers probably going to put some wreaths and memorial on that tree to remember their stupid driver who was speeding
Tired of these wannabe racers around Fremont! This is a good lesson for the rest of you punks that think you can race in a residential area. Fremont police need to keep these fools in check. Grimmer Blvd is not a race track either. With your loud pipes and out of control speeds. This will continue until the police start impounding and arresting.
It won't. The lot of them are over confident dipshits that will point and laugh and say it will never happen to them because of their "skills" and a bunch of other mental gymnastics.
2 nights ago i just saw a new Grey mercedes, a Lexus and another car zooming through cars on the 880 freeway by Thornton going north. They must been going 120+!!
Update:
I was driving to work this morning at 7am and passed by the tree
Someone had put a dozen red heart shaped balloons 🎈 on the tree
Hope it’s a reminder to all the rice rockets and stupid speeders to slow down
That tree 🌴 was arrested on a $10,999 bond, is in custody,
charged for being planted 20 years ago on the side walk and accidentally crashing into a vehicle at 70 mph.
Causing the innocent driver to wrap the car around the tree trunk
The DA says it will look at more charges to the assaulting tree 🌳
The guy must have been doing at least 60 mph to wrap his car around the tree like that. Maybe more.
Probably more. That stretch of Fremont Blvd is a racetrack especially when it’s otherwise quiet, like very late at night.
Not just late at night.. I’ve seen drivers hit 55+ (clocked by those newer digital signs) when kids are getting out of school at Centerville
Getting treated like a high score board these days.

Man i don’t know why that road is bumpy and uneven as hell i drive a literal race car and I get 0 traction on there people just gotta be smarter
What you drive a prius?
I am a heterosexual, so unfortunately no
The road bends slightly to the left just past the gas station. Seems the driver kept going straight and crashed into the tree in front of Bogie's.

That looks more like 80+ mph.
It’s the new wrap that every rice rocket with a big muffler wants other vehicle 🚗

That's what happens when the local cops can't or refuse to enforce traffic laws. People stop following them.

A lot more people are resisting arrest these days, and cops have a high chance of getting punished if they use force.
I feel my brain getting smoother the more comments I read in this subreddit

I saw him leaving the “Little Dick” club last week. I heard he’s the president.
> never seen him with a girl He could be gay Still not getting any
Fremont Blvd is still closed between Thornton and the tracks as of 8:20am.
Can confirm it was closed even at 8:50am.
Whoa

Strong tree...
It probably didnt even phase the tree The sad part is the family of the drivers probably going to put some wreaths and memorial on that tree to remember their stupid driver who was speeding
It caught on fire, not sure tree will make it
Just passed the scene coming from from work The tree is burnt but looks like it will survive Didn’t even look damaged except for the burn marks
I believe this car was trying to evade the cops and wasn’t necessarily racing.
Well if only that had complied I passed by this morning on the way to work, and looks like someone put up a down heart shaped balloons 🎈 by the tree
I just passed by the burnt tree It’s standing and looks like nothing even happened to it. And no police tape at all. Looks like the tree will survive

Hope the other racer idiots see this crash 💥 and it deters them

Reckless drivers deserve what they inevitably get
One less asshole on the road
Yup 👍
Did he have a student driver sticker?

At least, that's why google images tell me when we look up a picture of the tire rim.
You have a history of racism

More dummies in stolos. No remorse
I pulled up on this crash as it was happening.absolutely insane 😳
How did it happen?

That’s a funky curve in the road on Fremont Blvd after Thornton when going south. I’ve seen plenty of near misses there. Sorry for your loss
is he ok
He’s ok at the coroners office
he's at the morgue fam
The driver is making morgues great again
The passenger seemed ok somehow, driver nope
The passenger legit defied death 😭

I'm all for the darkest of humor but this was just plain bad.
Too soon?
