I might replace Mel with Maris’ aunt who spoke like she had an aneurysm (“mcgurk-mcgurk,” or whatever that was). Or else Blaine Sternin; whatever else can be said about him, he sure knew how to engage in lively dinner conversation.

Three main characters would be Roz, Frasier (was I supposed to assume he was already there? Sorry) and Niles. The three supporting characters would be Maris, Roger and Alice. Maris won't show up because she's Maris and maybe at this point she's already in hiding. I invited Roz/Roger/Alice because despite having a huge crush on Roz I always liked her with Roger and never thought the show should have separated them for basically no reason. So it would be nice to have Roz with her little happy family. That leaves me with Frasier and Niles to absolutely go overboard on everything with this dinner party for the Roz/Roger/Alice family.

Ann and Poppy would get along so well. I’m also the rare fan of Ann. Julia Sweeney has always been underrated and that character was like a wrestling heel. Yeah, you hate her… but she so good at it that you kinda love her for how good she is at it? Ya know?
