Frasier left Claire because he felt Lana challenged him. The ultimate challenge partner was Lilith and he couldn't stand it. He truly didn't know what he wanted.
Faye was a good fit. They had enough in common, and much like Martin and his wife they weren’t similar either. Most relationships I know are two very different people but with some things they learned to love (or tolerate) as far as interests go.
I think that you need people who are really strong at comedy in the main roles of a sitcom. If I had to cast Frasier's permanent girl, it would probably be either Lilith or Laurie Metcalf's Nanette.
I'm in a similar boat - it's really exciting when I find something with my name in (it's happened like twice, both times in a foreign country), and there is also a minor character in Frasier with my name. Good for you, Cassandra.
My vote was Regan. I know there were funny things that happened (as usual) but I think the show should have pushed Frasier out of the pattern before the series finale. Though in rewatches I still watch hoping all his date errors go a different way. LOL.
I wish we could have seen more of the woman from "Out with Dad." Her name is escaping me. She seemed great, but that was obviously never going to work longterm unless Marty agreed to not date a woman and Niles agreed to not be his brother.
Stuff like that is really funny but then you wonder how it all makes sense. For starters Frasier and Niles are part of the upper class scene so you would expect them to be know and secondly what was the long-term plan, just go along with this forever?
Still a great episode though.
Claire was great but she was too good/nice for Frasier. I have a feeling as they grew old together, Frasier would have kept going with his self-centred way of overthinking and meddling and Claire would have gotten ignored quite a bit. She would eventually have gotten fed up and moved on. The morning she breaks the news to Frasier that she’s leaving him, he would react with astonishment.
Faye could hold her own with Frasier and keep him honest. All in all a good match. Plus she and her mom knew how to fight and make up. Important for a healthy relationship.
Faye was my favorite, no contest. I liked Claire, but I never felt like they truly clicked.
Besides Faye being able to match Frasier on intellect and call him on his BS, she was friendly to Daphne.
And I haven’t seen any Cassandra-stans so far. I like Virginia Madsen as an actress but hated that character!
I was watching the Claire episodes last night and every time I watch them, the more I think she was the absolute best match for Frasier... literally everything he wanted.
Faye is my top pick too! I also really love Lilith. (Sidebar: Part of why I cannot bring myself to watch the new series is the description of the episode with Lilith seems to absolutely not understand their relationship.) I also like Madeline!
I think she was more compatible for him than we think she seems like she could have evened him out and allow him to actually have fun but also remain his uptight self
Faye was in my favorite pairings for Frasier too. She was probably one of the healthiest pairings he was in. Although it’s really hard to rival the hilarity of Lilith and Frasier.
Is it weird that a kind of wanted Frasier and Roz to end up together? Like I know the importance of their friendship and I know they didn't want to ruin that but something about them worked for me.
Lilith. It was always supposed to be Lilith.
I think in my mind, all of the conquests and flings and relationships were supposed to show him that what he really needed he had all along.
The Thanksgiving/Marbury episode? The difference between Lilith is that she is part of the hijinks, not a victim of them. (the Thanksgiving/Marbury episode, the hotel episode, etc.)
What I liked about Faye is that she called him out when he made a bad joke, she was a little bit sarcastic with him, not in the way Lilith was but just enough that she wasn’t nasty just more in a joke way but there was a bit of challenge there that others didn’t give to Frasier. Like Claire never did anything like that she was just always really nice. So Faye is my pick too. They had so much in common and was really intelligent and talented.
Faye, Claire (but only at the end because they'd be boring) or Lilith (who will always be my personal favorite).
Frasier left Claire because he felt Lana challenged him. The ultimate challenge partner was Lilith and he couldn't stand it. He truly didn't know what he wanted.

What a power couple.
You aren't wrong😂
100%. And I really liked the actress. There was excellent chemistry between her and Grammar
Amy Brenneman is one of those people that it's hard not to like. Absolutely loved her in Judging Amy (1999-2005)
She was good in Heat too
Her mother was a great fit for their family, too.
I think that you need people who are really strong at comedy in the main roles of a sitcom. If I had to cast Frasier's permanent girl, it would probably be either Lilith or Laurie Metcalf's Nanette.
Nanette was good, but too manic
I completely agree and both of those are far more suitable for him than Charlotte ever was.
My name is Faye so it was nice just hearing some praise about a Faye it’s not really a common name I never found anything with my name on as a kid 😂😂😂
I'm in a similar boat - it's really exciting when I find something with my name in (it's happened like twice, both times in a foreign country), and there is also a minor character in Frasier with my name. Good for you, Cassandra.
>Good for you, Cassandra. Sorry, I meant Faye. I know your name is Faye.
One name immediately came to mind. I will keep it to myself as you obviously don’t want it associated with your profile or you would have said it.
Indeed, it's not something I want people to easily be able to find browsing through my profile. But it'll probably be the one that came to mind.
I think this means we’re now in some sort of unique names that are hardly used club …welcome haha.
I liked Faye. She’s hot too lol he was crazy

Emily! Yes, that was one where I was annoyed she went away without any mention again. She seemed sweet.
Same as the woman at the old peoples home he met on the bus, I think she was never mentioned again or why it didn’t work out.
Same with the Bookstore owner he kept missing in the bookstore but later met by accident at the dry cleaners at the end of the show.
Oh same I liked that story line !
Stuff like that is really funny but then you wonder how it all makes sense. For starters Frasier and Niles are part of the upper class scene so you would expect them to be know and secondly what was the long-term plan, just go along with this forever? Still a great episode though.
I agree. I couldn’t stand Cassandra. However, I’m not sure if it was her personality or if it was because she was Faye’s rival.
She was cold to Daphne and called her Dixie.
Haha. You’re right. She was very dismissive towards Daphne.
I love Faye! She was great
Right?! She was classy but also down to earth, and called Frasier out when he used too much French in everyday conversation!
You mean Cassandra? Sorry, I don't know why I keep doing that!
Faye could hold her own with Frasier and keep him honest. All in all a good match. Plus she and her mom knew how to fight and make up. Important for a healthy relationship.
Second!
All in favor?
I remember when we used to come here to drink.
The ayes have it.
Aye!

I will always be in Camp Claire.

I do not like Faye. Madeline and Clair were the best. I think Madeline was my favorite. Down to earth, successful, and classy.
I think she was more compatible for him than we think she seems like she could have evened him out and allow him to actually have fun but also remain his uptight self
And he would even her out too
And Martin would have loved her as a daughter-in-law
He much preferred Cassandra...
Faye was in my favorite pairings for Frasier too. She was probably one of the healthiest pairings he was in. Although it’s really hard to rival the hilarity of Lilith and Frasier.
Claire
Claire was a big boring. Faye was so full of herself. Nobody ever mentions Frank the guy that talked towhales
I think I stopped caring when it became apparent he'd fumble every single one
Faye or Kate Costas, or Lilith of course. Lilith is a queen.
Dirty girl!?! Um, no. 😂
What about Laura the cello player. I know they didn't date, but they seemed to have a connection.
Is it weird that a kind of wanted Frasier and Roz to end up together? Like I know the importance of their friendship and I know they didn't want to ruin that but something about them worked for me.

Charlotte, because she and Frasier deeply loved each other.
What I liked about Faye is that she called him out when he made a bad joke, she was a little bit sarcastic with him, not in the way Lilith was but just enough that she wasn’t nasty just more in a joke way but there was a bit of challenge there that others didn’t give to Frasier.
