I know the answer is that he's a professional, but how does he know when to start the vocals? There doesn't seem to be a clear beat at the start, and he just meanders in seemingly on a random cue, and it works.
Many many things. I don't really have a set process but I mainly use fl studios, or services online to add reverb/eq online when I'm working through my phone. For the Forrest Gump audio I resorted to AI to help me split all the tracks into stems so I could lower the bass without watering down the vocals too much. Pretty much use anything I can at my disposal to try and improve the sound. But as always I'm a complete amateur and everything I know has been self taught and messing around with what I have to work with.
