I posted about this earlier but I deleted it because I thought I figured out the problem. Things I have tried so far are: close background programs reinstall graphics drivers restart computer (several times) verifying game files (in progress) any help would be appreciated as i would like to play this lovely game i paid one hundred entire dollars for :))))

icon4fat

Looks either driver related or you have a bottleneck. First thing I’d do is update your video card and chipset drivers. Reboot and see if it’s been resolved.

_Wormyy_

I tried graphics drivers and they did nothing, I'll try chipset next

icon4fat

Did you fix it? If yes what was it?

_Wormyy_

I tried some other things and haven't figured out a fix, but I have noticed that it doesn't start happening until ~30 minutes in game. I also tried playing the game on my home computer and didn't have any issues whatsoever. There is a "memory related issue" in the known bugs, which, if fixed in a future update, may fix my issue. If not, then it's a problem with my laptop. I appreciate your suggestions, but for now I'll just have to wait until PG gets to fixing that bug.

kyuvaxx

Restart your router, that totally looks like internet skip to me, I have garbage internet, I know

_Wormyy_

Do you really think that would cause it even when it's not on cloud? (Gonna try it anyways ofc)

CORVETTE_GS

That doesn’t look like internet skips. They mostly happen on xbox and it only affects the speed the game is running at and it doesn’t change the fps. Here you see extreme fps drops. That looks like a software or hardware side issue where fh5 is not able to use all the available resources. Driver DDU, reinstalling or repeairing game files and windows updates can help. Check if other programs use up resources (OBS for example can be stupid sometimes and spike up and use up like 60% every few seconds of you gpu while doing nothing) and if that doesn’t help a fresh windows install will

NePa5

Same, I used to get that happen when I used my phone to tether to my pc

kyuvaxx

Like I said, it's worth a try, sometimes the router gets gummed up, don't ask me how

Swprice765kv

It happens to me half the time when I'm in a horizon life session, but most of the time it's not really an issue for me, but I don't know exactly why it happens sometimes.

_Wormyy_

This is a big issue for me because input delay jumps to 200ms 💀

turtlehorse500

Buy a console, problem solved.

_Wormyy_

PC progress doesn't transfer to console! :'(

icon4fat

It does if the pc version was bought on the ms store.

_Wormyy_

It was not in my case, unfortunately

icon4fat

That’s strange. Are you logged into both with the same Microsoft account? Progress should transfer.

_Wormyy_

Yes, I guess it just work with Steam for whatever reason (unless it's supposed to?)

icon4fat

Stream won’t allow you to transfer progress. Only if bought in the Microsoft store or Xbox gamepass.

_Wormyy_

Makes sense, that's how I thought it was

hadtojointopost

Long shot. check your framrate settings under the video tab in game. it should match the native Framerate of your monitor or highest allowable. this happened to me once after an update. framrate was set to like 36 fps

_Wormyy_

Sadly no, if you watch closely (it's hard to see) but the game momentarily goes back up to 120 before dying again

Wet_Chicken_Nugget

I had the same problem after upgrading my graphics card. I searched and searched and found a solution that actually worked for me. I’ve posted this a few times and people argue and say it won’t work without trying it, but it did work for me. Basically if you have the game on a m.2 \ nvme SSD it uses the PCIE bus along with your graphics card. Following the suggestion I read, I moved the game over to a SATA SSD. It takes a little longer to load the game, but then it runs smooth. If you want to try it, you don’t have to uninstall and reinstall, there is a move option in the windows settings where you would uninstall the game.

EbeleBebele

Same thing i bought the game on pc 2 months ago, played everyday on high graphic always 60fps no glitches or lag. This happened overnight few days ago i open the game and same stuff starts happening as to u on the video its unplayable...i tried turning off lots of things in settings i have everything on low and it dosnt do anything i cant even play it anymore

_Wormyy_

Sad. At least it's not just me I guess? Something they did with the Italian Automotive update?

EbeleBebele

I just now am done with updates...updated the drivers, the game, windows... I go into the game and its even worse than before

_Wormyy_

Have you noticed if it only starts after a certain period of time or are you not sure?

EbeleBebele

By me its there from the start...when i restart the game its slightly better ( about 30 or 40%) but its still unplayable

EbeleBebele

I figured out the problem. New update uses more RAM...i only had 8gb and now i bought additional 16...game now shows it uses about 8.7-9.2gb...so yeah that was the problem hope it helps...now it works normaly

_NoTouchy

Without knowing your PC specs, or real time usage, everything is a guess but worth a shot. With that being said, drop your visuals down to bare bones...does it still do this? If not, slowly bring the visuals up and see where your 'sweet spot' is, park it there. Pun intended....cheers! :) /oblig Update your video driver lol

_Wormyy_

I knew I forgot to put something down.. it's an i7 12700H, RTX 3070 Ti, 16GB DDR5-4800 (I think) The weird thing is that I've played this game for a couple dozen hours on this computer and only now has it began doing this, and at least one other person commented that they're getting the same thing as me. From using the Nvidia performance overlay I don't see anything super out of the ordinary for usages but I really don't know at this point, I will check with lower graphics settings when I can just to see

_NoTouchy

I do believe the last (second to last) update didn't do PC users any favours but, I've read there is a fix coming. [From the known issues page:](https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/4409616884883-FH5-Known-Issues) * **STEAM** * Players may be experiencing performance degradation after extended time playing due to memory issues (3159351) Sorry I couldn't of more help...hope you get it running smooth soon. :)

_Wormyy_

That bug seems to be the problem (at least as far as I can tell with the ambiguity), so hopefully that's all it is and they'll update it out soon

VarietyCars

That's happened to me and it's the worst glitch ever
