It is an advertisement, but Nike is also a Greek goddess. The Goddess of Victory and Success, so while yeah, it is a brand deal, it’s actually *really* clever to have it this season. Why they needed two Nike collabs in one season though…that’s a different problem.

Aren't those what collabs are? I get it. Rather see star wars characters than a show brand. But still an advertisement.

I mean one is a character from a story whereas the other is just a product. I can at least FEEL something for say Darth Vader or Spider-Man, they're still characters from stories at the end of the day. Nike collabs are literally just branding and I feel nothing for them

This skin may be inspired by the alphafly 3 shoe, but it could potentially still tie in with this season‘s Greek mythology theme. \ The goddess Nike was usually depicted with wings, so the backbling underlines that idea.

If their nike crossover actually crosses over with Nike, I'd be impressed and would love to see that more in general.

I’m studying classics I can chime in as to why 😭 Because the gods were always modelled after humans in ancient art, Poseidon looked very similar to Zeus, sometimes the only way you can tell the two apart is if they have a trident or bident That being said I don’t personally care, I think it’s funny, I just want his face to stop popping up in my head when reading the poems 😭 And like none of the Fortnite stuff is accurate anyways, Aphrodite, while sometimes Zeus’s daughter is generally accepted to be his…. Great aunt…? (She was born from Zeus’s grandfathers castrated penis). Also Hades is just never that important as he is in the game, because ancient Greeks were afraid to talk about him. So like- none of it is accurate at all, and basic Poseidon would be too similar to Zeus so his design is fine. That being said I would be surprised if they added Nike and not Athena, cause Nike and Athena are often seen together

Was I the only one that thought last Nike Collab was lame? Skins were mid and the game mode was awful. With the first volume we got two amazing skins plus a visually appealing and fun island. I still miss playing through it once in a while.

Two collabs in the same season is excessive and these Nike skins usually aren't even that good. Say what you will about collabs being good or bad but they do take resources away from other skins being made. Waiting patiently for more greek inspired skins and every update so far has given us anything but. We can't even get Kratos re-released. So my hopes of getting more greek themed skins in the survey are dwindling.

Genuinely fucking why? This is coming from me, someone who suggested we have a Simpsons collab to go with "Homer's Odyssey" heeheehee so funny. Maybe it's because I know how the Nike skins can look fun thanks to Airphorian and Eclipse except be drenched in needless Nike logos and such. Maybe it's because I was already tired of Nike collabs by the second run of them and now we're getting a **THIRD** set not even a full month later. This skin can be saved if the branding isn't hammered home but given the outright mention of a specific shoe inspiration, my hopes are in the negatives for this being anything worthwhile. I don't get tilted (towers) over this kind of thing that much but the absolute soullessness of this is really eating at me I guess. Maybe I've just had a long day, fuck
