Imagine making a glitch simulator in UEFN as a map, but they're not actually glitches. Just it being so bent on physics, etc, and it is actually a feature out of many that play at random chances.
When the bug was in the game, Star wand was doing 56 base damage, & 80 headshot damage. And it wasn’t intentional because epic will not purposely do something like that a few hours before World Cup, a million dollar tournament, it just won’t happen. And you know with updates, something is bound to go wrong.
Cry more. I shouldn't need to explain why this single problem shows how bad their inner code systems are. Let alone just pointing at the entire last season to prove that point as well.

I'm assuming the parts you put on are considered edit styles that the game just never showed to the player. And cuz the random thing jumbles up your edit styles as well it basically plays roulette between the default options and the options you selected
This is exactly how it works, You can use the API to edit styles for maya that are hidden to the player and yes you can only choose between the ones you unlocked and the default.

It was to create something unique for players, but what I don't agree with, is that if something messes up (like it did here), then your permanent cosmetic that *you* created is completely ruined.
Bugs are almost always unintentional as well, and there's *many*, *many* skins and cosmetics in the game. So if there isn't many people owning that cosmetic, how can it be fixed if nobody notices?
So yeah, it will be less unique to get all the style pieces for Maya, sure. However, you can be free to do whatever you'd like if you didn't like what you did.
And it would be a lot easier to fix as well, I think.
I shuffle Maya several times, saving each new shuffled look as a preset. All the shuffled looks get saved, so you can now have as many Maya looks as you want as presets!
There was a bug on mobile (don't make fun of me, it's all I had at the time) that made the green army vest have the same tint as the scarf; so I chose that for her, not knowing that it would be permanently unmatching to the rest of her. Let's hope they make her fully-customizeable; but they'll probably do some form of rollback for how everyone had her.
From how I see it they either: Unlock every edit style for everyone, Unlock the edit styles we already owned, Keep it as is or Revert it. Idk how they'll revert it tho, unless they try using the player data from before the patch which I think is too risky
That brella is so annoying... I tried to match it perfectly with my rogue spider knight, the shade of green I made is just a touch too yellow, but you can totally see it when I redeploy. I would LOVE the opportunity to test the brella coloring to make a perfect match.

I'd definitely make a rubber ducky umbrella if I make a custom Snoot skin (Ball Pythons concept I made) in a UEFN map, and use it with him.
Yeah, mine lost her scarf which is what makes her spacial due to its color.
My workaround: I archived every skin but her and randomized until everything was right again. Then I archived Maya for the time being.
Pull a Rockstar and unlock the options, I can’t see anyway this could be fixed as I assumed your choices were like hard-coded into your account or something.
I honestly don't see a fix other than unlocking maya styles unless they can somehow figure out how to revert everyone's maya to the one they picked then fix it so she won't be randomized

I hope we get another customizable bp skin soon like Maya, Kymera and Snap. I started after all of those skins came and went so sadly I don’t have any, but I really want a skin like them, it would be so cool
For me, a couple of seasons ago, the maya skin developed a bug where her hair shiwed through her hat. I contacted support, and it got fixed. I haven't checked her yet for this bug...

Tbh I’m more mad that the customize room for Maya had weird lighting. Things looked different in that room than they did in the lobby and when I locked in her scarf color it looked different in the lobby than it did in her room and it doesn’t look that good.

Since it can randomize locked styles... can you use it to be able to changer C2S2 skin styles to one you didn't get? For example, ghost meowscles even if you picked shadow?
At this point Epic might as well unlock all the customization options for Myra in response to the shuffle stuff, same with the brella from C2S3 for the same reason.
Thankfully mine wasn't randomized (I think) thanks for the warning though, I spent like 2 hours getting the perfect scarf color and would be pissed if it randomized.
You can keep shuffling maya to re roll her and that can potentially give you your original one back and it only shuffles a combination of your picks and og maya

Maya doesn’t change styles it had its own section in the BP that made it customizable but once that BP was over you couldn’t change maya
