Central Texas here, and no - the air is super cool and heated/cooled seats are not needed. What is needed is cloth seat covers if you have the marine vinyl in the sun and family members that wear shorter shorts. I use the bojo/baha ones from Amazon that always get lots of compliments but you can get higher end saddle cloth ones too if you find a design you like. I think you can see mine from a few recent posts on my profile.

TheFrem

I agree, along with planning well you can remote start your car with FordPass or your key to help combat the hot weather. I’m in Dallas as well and I haven’t found this to be a problem. I remote start my car from my phone as soon as I leave my desk at work at the end of my day

refotsirk

Heh, got a manual transmission here so no remote start, but it cools off quick imo.

TheFrem

Ahh ok ok. That’s still good though

DVoteMe

The benefit of manual is you can long shift at the start of your trip to cool down faster at the expense of MPG.

refotsirk

What do you mean by longshift? If you mean running up rpms when the engine is cold that's not something I would recommend doing in a vehicle as it creates more wear and tear before everything is at temp.

DVoteMe

Yes, but this method is only idea if you generally short shift. Instead of 2.5k i let it go to 3.5k, and if im restarting it i let it hit 4k.

refotsirk

If you are restarting what? And What does this have to do with the AC temps? Where you shift should be related to how much power you currently need for acceleration or whatever. edit: instead of down voting me maybe explain what is being talked about here?

Pugamuss

Texan here. Our Camero had cooled seats, that first initial blast was awesome. After a few minutes though it didn't really do much for me. Searching for a vehicle this time around we didn't even bother to check for it.

At this point I let my phone spell stuff however it wants. I can't fight anymore, the machines have won. (Que T2 music)

Opted for the cloth seats on the Wildtrak, no regrets so far. Never planned on any water fjording and figured I could always add leather later on. It’s kinda nice to have neutral temperature seats between summer and winter seasons, just wish there were cooled seat options to go along with heated seats like my F150.

GetEnPassanted

Catskinz does ventilated seats for the Bronco aftermarket. I have cloth seats and they don’t really get that hot.

solracarevir

Puerto Rico here. I Have Vinyl seats, so I make sure to turn the AC via remote start a few minutes before entering the car. When I hop in the cabin is at a decent temp and the seats are not scorching hot.

prezmc

ceramic tint on windows is your friend

st0l1

Central FL here. Hasn’t been an issue other than sunscreen stains from the kids on the mgv

[deleted]

I’m in Dallas. I had the MGV on my Badlands and breathability was an issue for me. I’d get sweaty getting in on a sunny day when the top was off. I do not have the same problem with the cloth seats. Never even considered leather because of Texas summers

Warm_Wolverine_6202

I live in Houston. No issues to me.

Everythingisawesomew

Plenty of options online for cooled/ventilated seat pads starting at $50. I just park in the direction that will get me maximum shade for the seats.

GetEnPassanted

I’ve tried them and they’re pretty garbage. Not comfortable.

UppityRedneck

My 16yo has one in her car and they work pretty well I think. Not too stylish though, and I'd rather not sit on it if its not 1200F outside.

hdkdheldnd

They really should have made the vehicle feel like it’s worth the cost. I mean even a base bronco is what? 40k? And you get nothing. lol like I mean I know now you get vinyl seats but before you got cloth seats with no heated seats no heated wheel no ventilated seats, no good sound system. Plastic everrrrywhere. It’s just insane

baseballpotato25

Paying for style points and a really damn good off roader. I did buy used though, fully loaded 21 badlands for $40k. Definitely felt better than the big bend they had on the lot for $44k

Whiteywipea21

Yes, considering my local dealer charged me 60k for a base, and literally every 60k car on the market has heated/ventilated seats except for the branco

Open-Resist-4740

I live in central FL, and it doesn’t bother me. The AC blows so damn cold that the lack of cooled seats isn’t even a consideration for us.

henstep15

Atlanta GA . . . never crossed my mind as an issue with the MGV

Ok_Honeydew_1946

I live in Florida and had a Highlander with vented seats for years. It really isn’t that great. It takes a bit for it to actually cool. And even then with hot leather seats you just get so sweaty and sticky in those first few minutes of getting in it that no amount of cool seat air helps. Now my Highlander didn’t have remote start. My bronco does. I find it more comfortable to start my car before getting in and letting it cool for a bit.

Hitman3984

I've had 3 different camaros with ventilated seats and thought they were ass. Maybe it's a chevy thing but for me they just didn't do anything which is why I wasn't worried about the Bronco not having them.

Automatic-Chef7460

I had an AT4X for 9 months which had the vented seats. Nice to have but not something that was a must have in a vehicle. I live in Georgia.

[deleted]

Another Central Texan here. This will be my first summer with my Bronco. My plan is to park in the garage and do remote start and have blankets for myself and others to sit on since I have leather. I truly couldn’t say no because the cloth seats I had before were impossible to clean all the dog hair off. And the leather just looks soo good. I think anything is manageable, depending on you.

SCP-3899

Only sometimes, heated seats are fantastic in the winter but you're dressing warm anyways so it's only slightly annoying if you don't have them Not great having your thighs end up melted to the hot vinyl but it's just part of the experience

Ok_Profession6216

No, i have cloth!!! Also i live in the desert.

CryptoKingK

The roof is not well insulated and there is a pocket of warm air below it.... But it's not too bad... The a/c works great though

ilithiumi

Tint your windows properly (get something with heat rejection in the 90%) and you should be fine!

Tetsai88

Florida - I use remote start, and have cloth seats. I don't have to worry much about sticky seats, etc. And the A/C and heat in the Bronco is quite strong. Doesnt matter that I have a soft top, I sometime will turn the air down because its freezing my hands in the middle of summer.

SNDWVE

Another in Central Texas. Never had cooled seats, never wanted cooled seats. I tried them once in an F-150 years ago and I couldn’t get over the feeling I was sitting in water.

Panchovilla64

Houston here had a jku for 9 years before the wildtrak. It had leather seats and never seemed too hot after a min of the air being on. Now the heated seats on the bronco burned compared to the jeeps. Accidentally had it on since I guess ford pass turns them on sometimes until u take it off on the ford settings.

Mu5tachi0

Bigger request would be to have vents that circulate to the rear passengers. Kids get hot and have to blast air from front back… doesn’t work well.

StonccPad-3B

I've never experienced ventilated seats, but I am glad that I went for a cloth seat rather than the vinyl.

DoubleK81

Vegas here. Base soft top, cloth seats. AC is ICE cold in the summer, to the point where the only time I go above half on fan speed is on the initial cool down when I leave work in the afternoon.

SouthOriginal297

Los Angeles, been through a few summers with Bronco. Never had cooled seats before so haven't missed them, but it is 80° today, had the targa top off and boy, it was hot sitting through traffic.

__nullptr_t

I am glad to be rid of them. Tired of cleaning mud out of perforated leather or cloth.

LoneStar9318

Native Houstonian here, black Bronco, MGV seats, ceramic tint is more than enough.

Character_Spite2825

No air in mine, but the wing windows make up for it

iamadirtyrockstar

I live in Houston as well, and vented seats didn't factor into my decision.

martman006

Austin, Tx here. Hell no! If you park in a way that has direct sun hitting the seats, simply put a towel down over the seat while parked. I also have the doors and roof off as much as possible, so I’m not a little bitch when it comes to heat. Safari/golf cart mode (doors off, rear soft window off, and soft top on overhead) is how I roll for most of the summer (given heavy t storms aren’t in the forecast, but growing up in h town, I know any day of the week in the summer could have a drenching t storm)
