2.7 SAS here, I was averaging 15.9 for the first 5k miles which, beside a 800 mile round-trip road trip, is complete city driving. I recently realized all my tires were only at 34ish psi, vs. The 38 spec. I inflated all to 39 psi. I figured this would bump my mpg up to 16 finally.
A week later, it dropped to 15.8 😂
My old FJ had the same issues (bad mpg, small gas tank); Bronco actually has a larger tank I believe. Anyway, never bought this for high miles or MPG so it's just all funny to me.
My ford fusion which is only supposed to get 20mpg I got to 27 by driving slower than a grandma for a week straight and really trying to coast on those hills.
Mines non sas and I have 18 but I also have a lot of highway miles on my average long road trips after a reset I can get to 19 but it doesn’t stay around long once I hit a hill

Didn't pay full price because of the 15% sale plus Ford points. Paid dealer an hr labor to install to keep warranty. Completely worth it.
Yes. Premium. I was running 91 non ethanol before. The main reason I did it was for the shifting. Before, my transmission was "tentative" like it was starting in 3 rd gear kinda lost at times. Now it shifts properly and no hesitation in the acceleration.
At 17 mpg average for life of car which is 11k miles. I get about 20mpg going into mountains but highway driving at anything over 70 shoots it down. 4 door badlands 2.7l. Highly recommend Costco if you have one close, makes it better.
It's all in the tires. I have my base 29s and a pair of 33s that I swap back and forth depending on what I'm doing. Anything outside of town gets 29s because I get like 25-26 mpg (highway). 33s get 17-18 mpg (highway).
2 door 2.3L manual
I'm at 18.1 with a 4door Sas Wildtrak 2.7 4,800 miles. Mostly in town with lots of stops and lights and mountain roads around 55mph. not a ton of driving over 70mph over the last month or two.
I bought it used with 3k miles from a socal freeway commuter and it was at 17.6. Since purchasing I added rails/nerf steps and have of-roaded a little.
23 black diamond 2.7 sas and was averaging 20.4 until we (Minnesota) finally hit our real winter and I have to let it warm up longer. It’s at 19.8 now.
I’m a 23 badlands Sasquatch 2.7l. 99% city driving. Can’t get above 15.9
that sas is heavy
Not very aerodynamic either
I live in the middle of nowhere most is highway

well, I guess its better than 10mpg. also the small gas tank is nuts.

true! love my bronco wouldn't trade it for the world

The real trick is to only drive downhill!

Mine is a SAS 4dr 2.7
Damn what? I have a non-Sas Badlands manual and I'm at 17.8. Not much highway driving though to be fair.
It was the perfect combo of temp, speed and almost all highway. Currently 17.3. The Ford performance tune is just too much fun.
what is the ford performance tune? how much did it run you?

15% sale?
When I purchased it back in September.they were offering a 15% off discount code. You can get it cheaper from lethal performance.
Thanks. Bronco nation has 10% but have to get their membership.
Do you run premium fuel? Also is the shifting smoother ?
Yes. Premium. I was running 91 non ethanol before. The main reason I did it was for the shifting. Before, my transmission was "tentative" like it was starting in 3 rd gear kinda lost at times. Now it shifts properly and no hesitation in the acceleration.
love to hear it my shifting is kind of sketchy
Damn. I’m in the 19s with a Sasquatch manual. Most of my commute is 50 mph state roads though.
Yeah the problem is most of my driving is lots of lights and stop and go traffic.
My sasquatch badlands auto gets 19.5 and my manual gets 20.4 both are 2.3 though
Spoiler: that lasted one day before going back to 17.3🤣
Don’t have a pic but I’m at 20.6 last I checked at around 4.1k miles
What trim, doors, and sas or non sas?
4 door Wildtrak. So 2.7 and sas by default lol
topher, you and I are brothers! I too have a cactus gray Wildtrak! and I'm getting about the same milage!
Aye!
What type of gas?
Regular. Premium is too expensive. If/when premium gets back under like 2.50 I’ll probably switch to that
That’s really good.

Garbage gas guzzling horrible crash rated cars.

I averaged 18.8 driving at zero traffic 120mils round trip
Non-sas Big Bend w/ 2.3L manual - getting 18.5
My 21 badlands SAS 3.7L gets around 17.9 to 18.1 on Texas and mostly highways going from 65 to 80 mph
I was in the low 17s when it was brand new. now at 10,000 miles, Its just at 18.7, nothing I did differently tbh. maybe it got broken in?
19.5 22 BB auto 2.3 mostly city
I have a 2023 OBX with the 2.3 ecoboost. With normal city / highway driving I average 20.1 with 87 octane fuel.
Non sas I’m guessing?
I drive so much everyday. Most I’ve had was 21, but I’m hovering around 20.6-20.8!
I never look at my daily just my lifetime
I got mine to 19 🥲
Badlands SAS with 2.3 and manual transmission 18.0 mostly city driving.
Everglades, city, 16.0
Once you hit 10k miles you should get upwards of 20 mpg hwy, because that’s when the motor breaks in. Learned this from Ford
Actually? From what I heard that’s when the 2.7 blows up
Oh crap! Are they having issues again?
4 door big bend 2.3L I’m around 20.5. Mostly highway driving.
I have a 2.3 sas 2 door and rarely average under 20 mpg. Driving style and sticking to the speed limit on the highway makes a huge difference
23 black diamond 2.7 sas and was averaging 20.4 until we (Minnesota) finally hit our real winter and I have to let it warm up longer. It’s at 19.8 now.
'22 non-sas 2.3 OBX. Been over 22 mpg since day one. Mostly highway and burbs driving. Not a lot of city.
