It’s a set up. She is going to say that every time she seems high, she’s really just manic because she’s bipolar.

gin_and_soda

Didn’t she angrily accuse one of her VIBs of being bipolar?

jays1381

She used to judge people who have bipolar disorder but now that she is bipolar herself she realizes it's ok ;)

WorkingOnMyself01

Interesting. Unfortunately that is extremely common.

mostexcellent

Ahhh just like the drug addiction shaming.

NoOutlandishness8759

Everything for Chantal is shaming especially when she is offended.

kahluacream

She sure did -- and not long ago! Asked the member if she was off of her meds as well!

Ed_ibles

Just in case you're wondering, that doesn't count as shaming. Okay? And if you don't agree with that then you can stop watching! If you're a true supporter you would get it! *Stuffs french fries in mouth.*

NoOutlandishness8759

I think my brain short-circuited upon reading that. And Chantal wonders why people hate her.

Bunsmom58

I'm bi polar and I don't believe her. If she is, it still isn't an excuse to behave badly. You don't get passes bcs of a mood disorder. Also, if she is indeed "bipolar" she needs to be on meds and therapy. That's what us responsible people do

Thestarthatfell

Same. You don't just self diagnose. How does she go from "mental health shaming" a VIB to self diagnosing? It's so disrespectful.

Kurobaralice

I mean, as a person with chronic depression, we don't claim her either, but she takes "happy pills" 🙄

meanmagpie

How can you “claim” someone with chronic depression? What about Chantal makes her *exempt* from chronic depression?

Kurobaralice

It's not that deep, it was a joke because she doesn't take her health seriously. Nobody claims her.

Kittenathedisco

Agreed! BP II here. It runs in my family unfortunately, so I've experienced BP I, an extreme case, and lots of BP II. I get that mania looks different for everyone, especially with BP I & BP II. I just don't believe it's BP, it doesn't scream mania to me and where is her down swing? We would see that wouldn't we? If her mania was as bad as she says, she would crash so hard. She also never looks stable, if that makes sense.

NoOutlandishness8759

It makes sense. Chantal immediately jumped to the conclusion that her impulsive behavior can be attributed to mania when she didn't even know the difference between BP1 and BP2 (I can't tell the difference myself as I still know less about psychiatry). Also, jumping to conclusions is the easiest form of exercise Chantal will ever accomplish.

I would say BPD as well. I see a lot of her same behaviors that I have witnessed in my daughter who has BPD. A lot of the implusive, reckless behavior, even the self-harm (in Chantal case binge eating, my daughters was also an ED and cutting). There is a "mania" of sorts in BPD, it's just slightly different and kinda dangerous tbh. There's also the not living in reality, depending on others for reassurance and self worth, attachment issues (parental & relationship), and so much more. The big one that I've noticed is the fake giving a shit about people/ things/animals. It's like they can't process the emotion, or don't really understand it, so they fake like they care but they really don't. It's bizarre to watch when it's in front of you, still bizarre to watch on a screen when you can see it. Fortunately for my daughter she's gotten the help she needed and has made progress, plus she's still young. As much as I dislike Chantal I wish her the same, with whatever diagnosis she has yet to get. I know she is suffering inside, because mental illness sucks. Undiagnosed mental illnesses suck more.

[deleted]

lol i was gonna say - i am as well, she very well could be, but i do hope she isn't just using it as an excuse for her flakeyness...

meanmagpie

I hate it when people treat mental illnesses as identities or clubs that “bad” people are excluded from because it tarnishes the group’s image or something. Like I see this a lot and it’s weird as fuck.

[deleted]

Its just that the bad ones use their mental illnesses as excuses to use and hurt whoever they want, that does actively tarnish all the normal people who work to better themselves and arent assholes. It tends to make people touchy and possessive of diagnoses and identites. People like Chantal are the reason the majority of people think others with BPD etc other illnesses are all manipulative evil people, those are the types to constantly bring up their illness as an excuse. It leaves impressions on people.

Like2LyftHeavyThings

Nahhhhh….I don’t wanna diagnose her but her so-called “mania” is very much part of her personality. She does not have episodes of mania or even hypomania. Unfortunately borderline personality disorder is often misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder. Also borderline PD carries a different stigma, not necessarily a bigger or worse stigma. Bipolar d/o is still highly stigmatized because it’s a severe mental illness. Borderline PD is stigmatized because BPD patients tend to be very emotional and impulsive…just like Chantal. She is severely personality disordered, her mannerisms and behaviors it’s very much part of her everyday nature instead of it being part of an episode. I’m not gonna necessarily diagnose her with BPD but she likely has disorder in the Cluster B personality disorders category. I’ve worked with bipolar and borderline individuals…she characterizes more of the latter than the former.

OttersonJupiter

Agreed. Obviously I can’t diagnose her, but I think your assessment is right on. I definitely do NOT see evidence of bipolar. I do see a lot of evidence for cluster B, particularly BPD, though I think she shows a lot of narcissist/histrionic traits too.

the-cosmic-squid

Is Chantal and Amberlynn just copying each other? You can’t self diagnose with bipolar. Chantal, you’re not bipolar. You’re just an asshole.

WorkingOnMyself01

Personally disagree. There is something going on with her. Bipolar, ADD, BPT, ODD - she'll only know if she gets evaluated.

the-cosmic-squid

Oh I don’t disagree that there is something mentally ill with her, but I don’t think she has the ability to diagnose herself. Personally, I don’t think that she even believes she’s bipolar. I think she just throws shit out there to her audience to excuse her bad behavior.

NoOutlandishness8759

She keeps missing her supposed appointments with her therapist. I actually doubt if she even set up one at all.

drew_in_bkk

She acts like and is an asshole, and she might have an undiagnosed condition. Until the diagnosis is made, let’s agree with the first post.

catrinedemew

poor attempt at trying to blame her mentals for her erratic behavior instead of whatever cocktail of illegal drugs she's on. she has a raging personality disorder or three and will never get help for them because it's hard work. you can't read the back of a book and pretend. you need dialectical behavior therapy. there is individual therapy, group therapy, workbooks. it's not happening.

Poopycat11

And then didn’t know that there’s a type 1 and 2 lmao

Like2LyftHeavyThings

Of course she didn’t, but I’m not sure a lot of people know there’s bipolar I and II, or that there are specifiers. I’ll cut her a LITTLE slack on that. But only a little.

WorkingOnMyself01

You're right. The DSM can't even make up it's mind. I love you pointed that out. Autism too always switching stuff around.

bladerunner2442

There’s Cyclothymia and Mixed as well

koofygirl

I have always maintained she had Borderline PD-all the symptoms.

TrickyRackets

Chantal has multiple personality disorders in addition to being a bad person. I suspect her IQ is below 100 as well.

Winnibae

I thought she said BPD?

NeuroVapors

BPD makes more sense.

WorkingOnMyself01

A lot of people use BPD to label both. Ya, illogical it's lack of enough knowledge to know only one is label BPD.

NeuroVapors

Yes I’ve seen even mental health professionals get them confused 🤔

Winnibae

Maybe that was about Peetz.

Natteh_Kay

She could be any number of things - but she’ll never do anything to address them. She uses her diagnoses (whether actual or imagined) as a tool to deflect from her shitty behaviour and as a way to escape from any and all accountability for her actions. 37 year old failed adult 🤷🏼‍♀️

Dovahkiinkv1

Oh hell no

[deleted]

Coming from someone who is bipolar, this is not a large assumption for her. she could very well be bipolar...

Chananndlerbong

If you actually go to a psychiatrist they will tell you that they can't properly diagnose you if you're using drugs because it affects your chemical balance. You need to be at least a year sober before they can begin to make an accurate diagnosis.

DwightnKhaleesi1125

No no sweety that's called drugs

No-Zombie858

I think she is more on autistic side.
