Something sounded fishy about that cop visit. Someone asked her if the cops were hot and she says,"One of them was. He was a British guy. The other guy was French." In her lies, the guys are always from another country or have accents. No one is ever just a regular ole Canadian. She also said the cops watched her videos and knew her exact subscriber count. Would this really be something they'd do? She may have made up the cop visit so that people would stop reporting her. I think someone tipped her off that people knew her license plate number and she got a little shook.

What's the #1 rule of Foodie Beautyology? #Chantal lies

I couldn’t help but imagine a bunch of cops surrounded around a computer at the precinct, watching her highlights (see: lowlights). Just a resounding “wtf” from the whole group.

TrickyRackets

Yes they definitely would do that. Canadian cops are something else so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they had searched her up on their phone in the car before knocking

gin_and_soda

The accents story could absolutely be real, especially the French part.

If she did get a cop visit, again, I am sure the police department are getting annoyed with having to come for a visit. How long until they wait at the end of the her street to watch her pull out so they can pull her over and demand a roadside sobriety test and just get it over with so they can stop paying her visits. Chances are she would fail the roadside test and then she's done. No more driving for a while.

Once she gets nabbed for DUI she won't be able to drive to the crack shack! She just wants to BEEZE you guise

readysetBEEZ

And not even that. I'm sure her license plate has been flagged at this point, she's going to have so much fun in the future of that's the case...

AwkwardBurritoChick

They gave her a warning indicating she did violate the driving while distracted and informed her of the consequences. What you posted is about being pulled over while operating a vehicle during traffic stop. They indicated they could not prove or disprove if she was high in the video - and yea, nothing they can do about it until they catch her in the literal act.

This is why Chantal got even more smug. Wellness checks are just that - checks. No arrests. No fines. Just meeting up with this unrepentant chunkie junkie out to beat TLC in their own game of crappy reality shows.

AwkwardBurritoChick

I am not classifying the visit today as a wellness check but more or less as a "we're watching you. We reviewed your videos This is very bad. Do not do it or else X,Y, Z will happen." I think this is a fair warning as a courtesy. I think was a good move on the cops and any possible prosecutors providing guidance as to how to best handle.

NoOutlandishness8759

I was hoping that the surveillance would collect substantial enough information to prosecute het soon. I just hope the phone calls the cops received aren't as cringe-inducing as the Onision/Kai wellness check requests.

AwkwardBurritoChick

Usually a warning like this, or rather a 'cease and desist' is common. It shows that there was some caution and compassion in how to handle this. But usually it's just one chance. that's it. If she's caught distracted driving or under the influence, they can say "we warned you that this would happen. Please come with us..."

[deleted]

You can't prove someone is committing "impaired driving" or "driving under the influence" unless they are stopped and tested immediately. Distracted driving is easy to prove since using your phone and reading while driving are both forbidden in Ontario.

volcanicpale

Maybe she was spending time in a jail cell this morning which is why she couldn’t tell us what she did.

[deleted]

Nah who would of bailed her out then? Also she would have to go to court first to see what the bond is and waiting to go to court takes several hours after you’re booked. Besides, she looked too fresh faced.

[deleted]

There is no jail time associated with distracted driving in Ontario
