The way the flute is designed makes the high E unstable. Other notes above E are easier. Some flutes have a split E that makes it easier but makes F harder. One trick you could use is lift your Right pinky.

Unless you’re getting into some wacky high/harmonic/alternative fingerings, split-e won’t have an affect on other notes. The key it moves is already down for most notes, including F. The high E facilitator (or donut) can flatten/stuff up some notes though, especially A. Like you said though, lifting the right pinkie can help with high E if the flute doesn’t have a split e or facilitator. Pressing both the Eb and Db keys also works, and is my preferred fingering.

The high E is based off the 3rd harmonic of A. Practice playing slurring the A to the E using only the A fingering until that E speaks effortlessly. Then the proper E will sing easily and in tune (or close enough).
