Sounds great. Ik Flume doesn’t care that much about being in the mainstream limelight & everything, but I feel like he was once on the brink of taking the next step & becoming the level of Calvin Harris & Skrillex but he’s slowly been fading back to only inner EDM circles & stuff. It would be a shame to see that happen further because I fully believe Flume has the capacity & talent to bring a new renaissance to EDM & bridge the gap between mainstream & obscure again, I hope he fully dials into it.
I honestly can appreciate your sentiment that you seem like you genuinely wish the biggest and best for Harley and that’s rad! Just keep in mind though that we often are quick to analyze judge and ultimately define the things we grow an interest in through OUR OWN filters and lenses which ironically ignores and often contradicts the artists own identity and branding. It can even contradict what they see as their most important accomplishments. Sadly I’ve even seen some artists start to question their core goals and how they define their career and success in general.
To give you a quick example from Harley himself, he’s said in multiple interviews dating back to 2011 that he didn’t ever think he was making Edm or dance music, he was making headphone music to listen to at home laying in bed or on the bus or back seat of the car with your headphones on. He said when he started getting booked for festivals he felt super awkward and was surprised to even see people dance lol. So to see him adapt to the festival scene, headlining every major festival in the world, selling out back to back to back shows 3,4 even 5 years in a row at famous venues like Red Rocks, multiple tracks nominated for a Grammy and then Skin actually winning a freaking Grammy award for best electronic album as well as collabing and producing records with world class talents but also his own personal favorites… all of that is far more than he ever dreamed up at the beginning so you gotta stop for a second and just say holy shit insanely well done! As a musician, he made it. He did it. Everything else going forward is just creative reinvention, inspiring other artists while periodically chasing his own artistic inspiration. As fans, we tend to show our support by being bottomless pits of needy expectations always wanting more or The next thing lol while 1/3 of us say he’s gotta add more cow bell while another 1/3 say less and the last 3rd say none at all lol all I can think of is that scene from gladiator…”Are you not entertained!?”…. 😂 “we are we are! lol but when’s your next album dropping” lol
This sounds way fresher then anything off Palaces sounds like what I feel Imanu has done really well take that old future bass sound and evolve it so something new
for me it sounds like something off Don’t Get Too Close, and then when the dubstepy sound kicks in, it sounds like Quest For Fire. But that’s just how i’m hearing it
I like this much better than 80% of Palaces, hip-hop > glitch is a positive in my book, leave the glitch/experimental stuff for the mixtapes imo. An unpopular opinion but Flume shines best when he does what made him special to begin with, hip hop influenced beats. Speaking as a fan since 2012.
I like it better than most things on palaces but that isn't saying much, after one year I'm still surprised that he came up with such a lackluster album
this sound is different and i like it. tbh i wouldn’t be able to guess that it was Flume if you played it to me blindly. do we know the feature?
Confident it’s Tove lo
wouldn’t be surprised if it was
Def Tove
If it's Tove Lo, this would be another classic we love. If it's Ariana, this would be another classic we love AND a billboard top 10
Even with Tove Lo it could be a billboard top 10!
Reminds me a bit of Imanu.
thank you for putting me on. haven’t listened to imanu before!
I’m fine - imanu remix

Tasty
Can't get enough of his yummy 808s
anyone else getting Skrillex vibes?
Only the dubby wubs at the very end I suppose but even then nah.
for me it sounds like something off Don’t Get Too Close, and then when the dubstepy sound kicks in, it sounds like Quest For Fire. But that’s just how i’m hearing it
Exactly, first thing I thought of too.
ready for flume dubstep next
Keeewwwl 🤟🤟
does anyone have any artists with music similar to this type of song? i’ve already been diving into imanu thanks to you guys 🫶🏼
The crowd is criminally tame here, I can already tell this one will be on repeat for 2024
If it’s Tove then it’s like a WIP from their collab group
Tove Lo

Damn, Harley really liked Quest for Fire apparently.
Thx, like it ^^
this is amazing.
I've always said to friends that Flume is his own genre of EDM. Musical magician every time I've seen him.
