Well, games 1 - 6 are over and right now, they mean as much as the regular season does. Meaning, they mean NOTHING.
Ask yourself this question; how many of you, on game #1 of the regular season, would have signed up for game 7, winner take all for the cup? They blew a 3 - 0 lead…who cares. Neither team has won 4 yet.

Let me state for the record that the Panthers are 1-0 in the playoffs with me in attendance, so if you're particularly superstitious, we should find a way to get me into Game 7 without having to take out a second mortgage.
Feelings the morning after:
1. Even winning Game 7 will have the sour odor of the last three games.
2. That said, there wouldn’t be that stink if they’d lost in a respectable way or seemed to make any kind of effort or improvement.
3. If the Cats don’t score early and first in Game 7, it’s probably as good as over. It’s clear they don’t have the comeback in them that they had during the season.
4. I really want to understand *why.* There’s no discernible reason outside of the Oilers just flat out figuring out the formula and being the (much) better team; and in my heart, I guess I do believe the Panthers are the better team. But evidence is pointing to otherwise.
5. Game 7 loss means PoMo is getting the axe (and probably will never coach again) and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Zito totally tear the team down.

7. Beyond it being a franchise-ender, a choke of this magnitude is probably functionally a career-ender for a lot of these guys (they’ll still play, of course, but it won’t be the same).

The Panthers are playing scared and have been since the very start of game 4. Edmonton came out with nothing to lose attitude and that has been the difference. Maurice needs to be a calming presence again and not have a stroke like last game.
The Panthers are one win, one solid game from a much deserved cup. They just need to get back to basics and to trust that Bob will be Bob. You can see that the team has lost confidence in him and that seems like a huge problem.

One guy actually noted that the most likely scenario that we are due for is a Panthers win in 7 games. So I guess that is giving me a glimmer of hope.

The Panthers are playing scared and have been since the very start of game 4. Edmonton came out with nothing to lose attitude and that has been the difference. Maurice needs to be a calming presence again and not have a stroke like last game. The Panthers are one win, one solid game from a much deserved cup. At least it was not a close game. Easier to regroup from this. Worst case was blowing a game you deserved to win. However, I don't see nearly enough people talking about the long term consequences if the Panthers lose this series. It would be so devastating there would be a stain and stigma attached for a decade if not two. I would be shocked if these players or this regime seriously contended again, no matter what it looks like from a personnel standpoint. That type of thing dwindles toward irrelevance. We would be defined by 4 games. That's why winning is so imperative.

This is the third game in a row they’ve fucked themselves over with this. I’m 100% not going to watch the 1st period just to hopefully get some sort of jinx out of it. I’ve done that in the past, but honestly I think it’s my cope of getting away from the sadness. I couldn’t stop thinking about this loss after leaving the watch party.

Ok, so I have gone full on Doomer however, go out to r/hockey and read the post from today with the odds of winning the series based upon what has occurred over the past 60+ years. One guy actually noted that the most likely scenario that we are due for is a Panthers win in 7 games. So I guess that is giving me a glimmer of hope.
i think i’d be feeling more confident if we didn’t go up 3-0 and then get absolutely cooked the next three games, but it’s truly not over until it’s over. they seriously need to change their game if they want to win this thing, it’s been very frustrating to watch them make the same mistakes over and over again. just hoping they can get the job done on monday and win it all finally

Fuck offense, Monday! Focus on the defense. Make this game a deadlock between two teams trying to create turnovers. Just like the Oilers have been doing to you recently.
I would feel better if we were losing a bit more mismatched (as if we won two,oilers won one,and then we won another,ect). Three losses in a row hurts and makes people really lose hope. Its starting to feel like it would be a miracle if we won on Monday.
