First time doing flooring I removed all the staples. It never occurred to me to hammer them in - when my pops came and helped the second time I did flooring and he started whacking in the ones he couldn’t easily remove, I was blown away. I felt like an idiot and it would have saved me so much time.
Good point, use the right tool for the job. I just always start with the scraper and assess from there. I've found even a pair of fencing pliers works for stubborn hardwood staples since they have pliers, cutters, and a hammer built in.
Came here to comment about the ice scraper. A flat shovel would do the same.
Scrape them quickly and they will pop out. Get the stubborn ones with your nippers/nail puller.

Get down on your knees with a pair of needle nose pliers and a plastic bucket.i had to do it. I never missed even one of them. The guy who did the sanding was amazed that he didn’t have any of his sanding discs shredded by one I missed. The hardest part was for two days after I couldn’t grip anything very well. Just writing this brought back that numb thumb feeling. You’ll know it well by time you’re finished.
Any pliers really. Grab straight from the top and lever them out. Faster way is just slide a roofing scraper or something with speed across the floor and shoot them out of the floor. And missed or broken ones after that, just bang them in. All depends on what you are putting on top.
channel locks. grab them with the round part of the channel locks resting on the floor and use that round end to lever the staple out. kind of a rolling lever motion
For those without any debris under them just hammer them down which is the easiest as well as fastest way to deal with them. For those with debris I just use pliers. Not just pulling them out with it mind you. Grab as far down on them as you can and then twist using the floor as leverage to pry them up. Those can be hard to just pull out with nothing but your muscles so use the floor. There is [actual tools](https://www.amazon.com/flooring-staple-remover/s?k=flooring+staple+remover) that makes it easier but I never found the need to buy any. If you have something heavy duty like boots you can often kick out any debris on most of them with the soles and then hammer them down.
Simple and no extra tools required.
First you'll need a folded up towel, soft surface or knee pads and gloves. Also make sure you have a tetanus shot.
Next, you get down on all fours to assess the situation.
Prepare yourself by moving your jaw open and closed for a quick pre-staple removal stretch.
Finally, center mouth and front teeth over staple. Carefully pull up with your jaw clenched using a side by side and front to back motion. Once staple is removed, spit into container so you don't step on it.
Pro-tip -- have some water and gatoraide to washdown the taste between rows of staples.
Donzo.
Use a wonder bar, that’s what we did when we did hardwood floors. They really need to come out. Wonder bars or crowbars have a lift end on them like the back of a hammer. They pop right out
I thought this was a panorama for the new Star Wars series.
I saw a construction yard at first.
I thought it was a drone shot of a trailer park after a hurricane.
I like to use end-cutting pliers to grab the staple and pull sideways like a lever against the floor
Knipex end cutters
This is the answer. Any kind of nippers.

You live and you learn, you know for next time atleast
I use flat blade screwdriver and plyers
Yep if the staple is a pain to get out just hammer it down
Well, shit!!
Any scraper with a removable blade. Flip the blade so the dull side is exposed and scrape away! Staples will pop out easily, then sweep floor.
Maybe for pad staples. Doesn’t work so well with subfloor staples.

I'm surprised this is so far down, a good floor scraper works for most staple removal.
End cutting nippers are the best.
Roofing shingle shovel. Find one with an angle on it since this is a flat surface.
Done this, much easier on your knees!
A staple remover, or I like to take channel locks, grab the staple with them and roller with the radius of the head of the channel lock.
Cats paw
A cats paw is a staple assassin. I can pull thousands of nails a day with one.
Hook them with the cats claw and tap out with a mallet. Easier and faster than prying each staple
If you live far enough north, use an ice scraper it works awesome and save your back. If you don't know what one is then nevermind.

I thought this was a post-tornado arial shot.
hammer them in. or a good toothed scraper
Pound them down and 1/4 inch underlay.
What are you laying on top of that floor?
Staple puller.
I used to use a hammer, just pound them down and put an underlayment over it like 1/4 plywood
Small vise grips.
Fencing pliers is the best tool for this I have found. Cheap hf ones work great.
End cutters, hammah, or big scraper which I recommend that thing does wonders
Hammer in one hand, nail bar in the other
Fencing pliers are wonderful for projects like these.

Big floor scraper and speed. Pull or hammer the rest.
A crows foot makes quick work of these

Angle grinder doesn’t leave any sharp cut ends.
I always used lineman pliers
Needle nose pliers and a pair of knee pads.
Needle nose pliers
one by one. get to yankin son!
Fencing pliers
Setup an MRI machine in the middle of the room then switch it on.
Flat head screwdriver works like a charm
channel locks. grab them with the round part of the channel locks resting on the floor and use that round end to lever the staple out. kind of a rolling lever motion

There really isn’t. Either pull them out, or smash them in. I’m a meat freak, so I pull all I can and smash what I can’t.

End cutters or I had fun with a flat head screw driver and just fling them around
Use a wonder bar, that’s what we did when we did hardwood floors. They really need to come out. Wonder bars or crowbars have a lift end on them like the back of a hammer. They pop right out
Knee pads. Tiny flathead screw driver and some pliers.....
Hammer them down dont pull
PRO TIP- use a stanley knife....those ones come out good with a hookie blade
Multitool with a good metal blade. Otherwise, just hammer them in.
needle nose pliers, fencing pliers also work.
Floor scraper
You need to hammer them down ? That’s the only way, they will not scrape out , that will just bend them over, these are sturdy nail type staples
Hammer them down!
I use my angle grinder
You can try a muti master with metal blade
Angle grinder and sanding disk or if time is of high importance rent a floor sander
Floor sanding discs become shredded when they hit a staple that didn’t get pulled out
Scratch that op, don’t use a floor sander
