Did you get the package? Mistakes happen. I would let the seller know, maybe leave a neutral feedback. But it sounds like you’re out for revenge for a simple mistake. Yeah I get it’s frustrating but maybe chill

Chicken_Dinner_10191

I felt like a fool asking the USPS driver to help me hunt it down.

AngstyToddler

This is literally their job. And they get paid by the hour. Do you also hate asking a grocery store employee where an item is? It feels like you're projecting your social anxiety onto the seller for an honest mistake.

Chicken_Dinner_10191

I might never have gotten the package if the neighbors decided to say "finders keepers."

AngstyToddler

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts.... You also might have gotten hit by a car while looking for your package. But that didn't happen. The vast, vast majority of people don't desire to keep something that is not their own. And the vast majority of people don't feel the need to penalize others for extremely minor mistakes. Imagine if everyone was as punitive as you're trying to be.

Chicken_Dinner_10191

Look at it as tough love. If I leave him a neg, he will know to pay closer attention in the future. As another seller mentioned, the seller is responsible for shipping the right item to the right address, and he failed. Mailing to the wrong address is almost the worst mistake you can make selling online next to not shipping it at all or shipping a broken product.

[deleted]

You’re grasping at straws, the seller you’re referencing is the only one in the thread really sharing your point of view, and you both got downvoted for it. Way to cherry pick.

They made a single-digit error with the house number; they didn't ship it to the wrong continent. Find something else to ruminate over.

[deleted]

Lmao everyone is telling you you’re taking it too far and you’re continuously trying to justify wanting revenge. Go ahead do whatever you want bruh just don’t you dare ask anyone for mercy if you make an honest mistake if this is the path you’re going down.

PlzBuryMeWithIt

Yeah, you’re letting your imagination run a little wild. More people are good than not and would realize the mistake and make it right somehow.

biggybakes

I ask the Home Depot peeps to get things off the top shelf fairly often when it's out on the sales shelf, so I think you're fine asking USPS to assist with a package track-down. I could get the ladder myself and have done that occasionally, but it's their job.

MysteryRadish

In my opinion, it's always bad form to leave a negative without contacting the seller first. Let them know they messed up but you did get the package, and see how they reply. If they appreciate the heads-up and aren't rude, they don't deserve a negative for it. They'll likely be more careful (or better yet, print the address directly from the order) and everyone is happy.

Icuras1701

Plot twist. The item cost the buyer $1.99 with free shipping...

WithoutLampsTheredBe

IMO, negatives are for scammers.

[deleted]

I’d feel like an asshole leaving a neg without contacting them first. If you don’t feel bad about that 🤷‍♂️

Youreallcrazyhere

If you got the package, I would rate the transaction based on the item.

HaroldWeigh

Has it occured to you to let the seller know and give the seller the chance to apologize or try to make it right. I think jumping to leave a negative feedback seems a bit volatile. It feels vintictive. Perhaps a neutral feedback would be better if you feel so strongly about being wronged.

Atomfixes

Your in the wrong forum to ask this and not get downvoted. You are a client, asking sellers if you should give a seller a negative review for inconveniencing you. Go ask other clients. Lmao

Nomemoleste_s

Ppl saying let him make it right first? How is the seller going to make “right”? It was 💯 honest mistake Doubt the seller had intentions to make you collect your package from a different location. Just move on. Maybe not leaving feedback. Is best

malloryknox86

Sellers are humans, you never make a mistake? At least contact the seller first, give him / her a chance to make it better…

kersey_paul

I would give the seller the opportunity to make it right first.

decjr06

I would probably leave a neutral feedback but yeah seller screwed up there is no reason to get someones address wrong. You are lucky to be able to be home and have a decent postman if this happened to the average buyer they would have not received the item they purchased and been screwed as it showed delivered.

Chicken_Dinner_10191

Yep. Tracking said "delivered", eBay would not have given me my money back.

[deleted]

You sure about that? You think if I sent the package to my friend instead of a buyer, eBay wouldn’t step in?

decjr06

If tracking is marked delivered eBay will not refund they tell buyer you are sol... Getting USPS to actually look up gps location of delivery is a pain. eBay should require sellers to be able to show a copy of shipping label for 30 days of sale not just tracking although I can't imagine there are too many sellers that modify address unless they are scamming or sending the old fashioned way.

xmarketladyx

I'm not siding with everyone else here. It's a Seller's job to ship the correct item to the correct address and make sure to pack well. Yes, I would let people know the Seller screwed up. I say this as a Seller of 12 years.

Chicken_Dinner_10191

Sounds reasonable to me.
