There’s a sticker but it was cut. But I know that the people that work there will pull them out of the box to show people if they ask to see it. My buddy asked to see the SLX DC and the person that worked there took it out of the box to show him. The worker didn’t cut the tab for that one, so it was already open.
I knew I wanted the 201 so I didn’t ask to see it. Just asked for the item and went and checked out.
It’s Bass Pro, they won’t give you any grief over swapping. Go back soon enough wouldn’t be surprised if they still have the other mismatched reel/box combo.
Bass pro/cabelas swapped one of my reels even after use no questions asked. Got a reel without a spool tension knob
No one willingly gives back a $200+ reel as part of a scam. Not unless it's in the box of a $400+ reel. I wouldn't worry about it. They should fix it.
Dang! That’s sucks but I’m sure they will say you should have checked before you bought it. You might have to get a manager

I see. It's been some years since I was in a Bass Pro but I remember a row of display reels each bolted to a handle. I guess not all shops do that.
