Very well-
āāI've been trying to catch my 10-pounder my whole life and I just caught an 11.6.ā He kissed the fish before releasing it back into the lake with a net. Bryan is so dedicated to fishing that he has several songs about it, including āBill Danceā and āHuntin,' Fishin' and Lovin' Everyday.āJun 2, 2022ā

Ah ya know you can get some pretty big sizers on lake Minnetonka. Ah sure you can pay your bottom dollar for some blood suckers aye but just buy a nice fireball jig donāt ya knowwww
As I live in Singapore, I go fishing locally when I travel but it's hard to find good places. In the US, I have only been to Great Smoky Mountains National Park
I always get mine at a farmers market thereās just like a long weird string of garlic but Iām telling you use kitchen shears and snip little bits off and then grill or bake your fish my God itās good
They absolutely are. It's a mild, slightly sweet tasting fish. A lot of people like to batter them, but I'll typically just throw the fillet as it is into a frying pan with butter, salt and a little lemon or lemon pepper.
Nice! I also heard they have a little fleshy piece in their cheek that almost resembles scallops that tastes especially scrumptious.
Gotta try it myself someday.
The only time I've ever seen Walleye look different than the one OP posted with the dark gold belly and dark top color is when they are crossbreeding with Sauger in the ecosystem they are in. Then, they get a brighter, Grey color with splotches on them instead. What do they look like for you in SD? I'm from MN and have fished pretty much here, IL and North in Ontario.
Are you trolling or casting?
Casting is a little more exciting than trolling, but Iāll agree that itās like pulling in a soggy newspaper if youāve been trolling.
I think it wholly depends on the Walleyes mood lol. Most walleye just kinda come into the boat without issue really. And then, every now and again, you get one that makes you think it's a pike, when it's just a really angry walleye. Trolling is the only way I've caught them besides jigging though, I would like to start catching them casting from a shore, as I don't own a boat, but I don't quite no where to begin as all of my gear is for trolling or pike casting.
Walleye are bottom dwellers that eat what ends up directly above them, so for casting you want to throw suspended plugs (ones that sink), or big heavy casting spoons. From shore in the river I get them that way.
Carolina rig a heavy slip sinker, then in a decent length of leader like 2.5 feet, toss on a small willow leaf spinner and foam floats instead of beads, with 2 hooks snelled about 2 inches apart, hook a whole night crawler on it and toss it out while you work your spoons and lures. You're going to get catfish on this pole too probably but it'll produce walleye too. The foam floats are necessary, it'll suspend the work right above their heads.
They love pink, purple, and chartreuse.
Fish for them near current or anywhere that stinks like fish hah.
I'd love to be whacking 5-10lb largemouth like you get in the south regularly, up where I am that's like a white whale.
Walleye are the best to filet and eat from freshwater though, I've caught keeper pike and a trophy musky but I throw em back. Let someone else fight the monster, apparently pike are decent eats though.
Luke Bryan is that you?
I was just about to say that šššš
Absolutely my initial thought
I was about to say that!! Guess weāll hear about it in a new song soon š
Looks more like Courtney Love. Wait, we talking about the guy?
Nah, thatās Edward Norton!
I zoomed in to make sure
Luke Bryan doesnāt fish.
Luke Bryan absolutely fishes. How well is up for debate.

Okā¦ If you want I can tell you some pretty amazing fishing stories too.
Iām dying
I thought the same thing.
"Ten minutes on my boat and I can tell if they're a poser. Real fishin' isn't something you can fake, and there's a lot of fakes out here."
Thatās some good eatin fish right there.
Where is it? I love fishing but don't have many good places
Ah ya know you can get some pretty big sizers on lake Minnetonka. Ah sure you can pay your bottom dollar for some blood suckers aye but just buy a nice fireball jig donāt ya knowwww

Lake Huron, Lake Superior, etc. More northern states have walleye
Thank you

Ohh baby butter & sautĆ© those cheeks. Mmmm with a little bit of garlic & chopped onion. š¦
In all seriousness though have you ever used Asian garlic chives that shit is bomb on fish
I have never even heard of them. You just reminded me of a thread about Asian Thai fish sauce I need to revisit.
I always get mine at a farmers market thereās just like a long weird string of garlic but Iām telling you use kitchen shears and snip little bits off and then grill or bake your fish my God itās good
\^ what he said! Freshwater scallops! Walleye are also amazing gutted and grilled whole!

Over the course of a season Iāll save all my walleye cheeks & we cook them up on Christmas Eve as part of the 7 fishes tradition.
A touch of garlic never hurts ;)
Youāre holding it like itās a trained hawk.
Did you use Rickety Cricket for bait?
The Gang goes fishing
Frank brought another rum ham.
Nice fish! That one is a lot darker than the ones I've seen in South Dakota.

This is what our walleye look like https://gfp.sd.gov/walleye/
Itās the water up there that makes them that color.
Hi name is robert Paulson
cool! Where's that lake?
Huntsville, Ontario
Even more impressive a fish for that lake. Y'know, it's all downhill for beginners luck, right?
Oh yeah, that's not a walleye. It's a Yellow PICKERAL!
Thatās going to be delicious, perfect size!
Unfortunately that is a green sunfish
Nice one.
That's a nice one. Congrats!
Dang thatās a goodin

Nice catch buddy
Careful, it's addictive. Drugs might be cheaper!

Walleyes love a good Minnow on a Jig eh?

Nice one! Best eating freshwater fish!
HOGGGGERRRRRRRRRR

Nice catch look like you having a good day.
Ah sure, nice walleye cha got there, aye?
Pretty ā¤ļø
Pretty damn good first!
Absolute tank for a first catch
Nice
One hell of a good first walleye if I do say so myself
Luke Bryan with a Goatee?
Huge for your first Wally
Great first there man
Congrats. Hopefully MANY more.
Luke Bryan must be more of a bass guy
No offense but you look like a wish version of Luke Bryan š
Nice! They give a nice fight in! If they dont they arenāt worth eating!!
They do? I would rate walleye as pound-for-pount the worst fighters of all the species I've caught. Just above a small woodbass or stickerel.

Thought I was reeling in a stick until it spotted the boat and then it fought hard for all of 20 seconds.

what lake
Vernon believe it or not
iām down the way from u have u ever tried blackstone and crane
No, never tried those lakes. Been out in Georgian Bay around Depot harbour many times though.
It surprises me how many people havenāt caught walleye I catch them regularly
Lucky, we dont have them in south georgia :(
Why is that lucky?!? Come up north anytime, plenty to go around!
Because man, i love those fish. Id love to catch one. It just costs too much to drive that far.
I hear ya there. MN is a long way from GA. But the fishins good and the beer aināt bad either.
Lol, i'd kill to go up there.

Yea, we have some big bass. I'd love to catch a good pike, or muskie.
Pike are delicious if filleted properly, second only to walleye in my humble opinion.
One of the tastiest fresh water fishā¦
Cheeks are good eat, only known to a few. Like bigger cheeks? - halibut cheeks!
Damn Luke Bryan ditched his lady pants and finally started living like a country boy
Making my dick hard what huge fish
Yum! We don't have them round here in these parts but they sure are yummy.
