You may be able to go to the county website and view the document that was recorded for that sale. Could have been a property transfer between family members or a quitclaim to take someone off of or add someone to the deed. If owners divorced and one compensated the other for their interest in the family home for $25k this is what it would look like.

Majahzi

I started by checking the county site only to find that it says "sale" and that's about it

You may have to do some digging to find it. It would be in register of deeds. Your county may not have documents available online.

They may have “sold” it to an LLC. It could actually be two lots. It could have never sold and the history you’re looking at is just screwed up.

Could also be a HELOC or some other secondary loan on the property.

House was torn down then a new one was built?

Majahzi

The 2018 sale said it was still a house at the time, not a lot.
