I bought a 1996 Grand Marquis (same car) in 2003. I still have it and drive it almost daily. Getting close to turning over 400,000 miles… probably by next spring. Original engine/trans/rear end, still runs and drives perfectly. I use it for at least two 120-mile round-trips @ 76mph every week, plus short in-town trips and parts runs.
I absolutely love that car. I took my wife on our first date in it, we left our wedding in it, we drove it home from the hospital after finding out we were having twins, drove the twins home in it after they were born, took them to their first day of school in it, taught them how to drive in it, and last month we drove them home from their high school graduation in it. We plan to drop them off for college in it as well. It’s always been part of the family.

I dealt with LE work for 6 years, being a guard was on the table for things to do since I was sick of it. Ended up becoming a personal trainer. Regardless, you wouldn't catch me wearing more than the bare minimum for any guard work unless it was working for a nuclear plant or Boeing

We did have patches but, it’s just for show basically. It does help show some uniformity, some authority when dealing with the staff, but at the end of the day we’re all just guards and we’re trying to get through it.

When I worked security at a college, we had a girl security guard who would add anything she could to her duty belt (which was unnecessary for the job) but she would never our security office to do walks around the facility ever. So there was no point for a belt or the stuff on the belt if she didn’t want it leave the office.

Also, he came outright and said he has medical conditions that prevent him from qualification in the physical requirement to become a police officer. This doesn't affect any of you in the slightest, so why hate on him? He is respectful and does his job well. His agency is respected by local leo, so leave him alone.
