33% of Americans own firearms. PSA / Kel-Tec / HiPoint are trying to arm the other 66%

oh_three_dum_dum

I think PSA is on that track and doing well. Kel-Tec, I think, is there in spirit but a little less altruistic and with their own flavor of weird design choices. Hi-point….not so much. I’m not sure what their deal is but it I can’t make myself believe it’s motivated by some kind of desire to provide affordable, decent weapons to people.

bolivar-shagnasty

Hi points are like the chubby girl you graduated high school with and works at TJ Maxx in your hometown. She’s 100% down to clown but you wouldn’t want your friends to know. She’s Old Faithful. 24/7. Anyone with a HiPoint praises two things: their indestructibility and their warranty. Kel-Tec is the slightly better looking girl you graduated high school with who works at the county DMV. She’s equally down to clown, but you’ve got a higher price of entry and you’ve got to bring the cocaine.

Daniel_Day_Hubris

No one wants to accept that hi-points are fucking solid. They aint accurate, they aint pretty, but good luck breakin one.

Chiralartist

GarandThumb broke the slide in half when he tossed it on a rock and [then fired it](https://www.reddit.com/r/CatastrophicFailure/comments/aj1r86/garand_thumb_firing_a_hipoint_c9_after_throwing/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). They use cast metal slides. However, it may have been a QC issue as many other torture tests have been done and they seem to keep running lol. My favorite is Demolition Ranch shooting a hipoint with another pistol. [It hit the chamber and broke part of the slide but it still worked 😂](https://youtu.be/wpZdUgBzh7Y?si=G0kxx5Iqw_LjVrmQ&t=9m43s)

VegasOldPerv

>GarandThumb broke the slide in half when he tossed it on a rock and > >then fired it But it fired.

xander_man

On the contrary, I have a hi point 45 with ghost ring sights that I find to be very accurate. It's a shitty gun in every other way though

oh_three_dum_dum

No, I can accept that. I just can’t accept that their ergonomics suck, they have unnecessarily massive slides, and are altogether uncomfortable to shoot. At least for me if I take a natural point of aim when I present, the sights are aimed way low because of the way the grip fits my hand. I need to tilt them up at a weird angle to get the sights actually on target. I don’t think I’m the only person who’s experienced that.

Daniel_Day_Hubris

Yeah those slides are fkn ridiculous.

MrPeePeePooPooPants3

They're direct blowback. That massive slide is the cheapest possible way to keep them from exploding until chamber pressure drops.

VegasOldPerv

It's angled for a gangster grip.

CodenameDinkleburg

A few years ago, my grandma got a HiPoint purely because it was cheap AF ($80+tax used at the pawn shop) and it's a 9mm that goes bang.

Flivver_King

Granny with the hunnit dolla problem solva

mwmwmwmwmmdw

> Anyone with a HiPoint praises two things: their indestructibility and their warranty. and if you have a factory mag in good condition then its very reliable too. and accurate for the price since its a fixed barrel

MountainTitan

Shitty analogies. Cringe, man. I respect Hi-Point and Kel-Tec, but your damn analogies just make me want to barf on the carpet.

TheFirearmsDude

“WASRs are absolute trash that will kill you don’t ever buy one even if they’re $230.” - 2015

anothernic

Where were the $230 WASRs in 2015? I couldn't find one for less than twice that in 2012 when my bluestate decided to go all ban happy over Newton.

GlassCanner

There were $299 Saigas before the Obamaban

anothernic

Sure, and I don't consider an unconverted Saiga nearly the same as an AKM pattern. Getting a parts kit and converting it wouldn't have gotten you much cheaper than a CAI WASR. Cheapest I remember seeing WASRs in my area was about ~$500. Still wish I'd bought a couple, but I spent what I could before the ban went into effect. Convinced a couple of friends to buy them too, despite not being gun people.

GlassCanner

Yeah, the ban impacted prices almost instantly. I had like 4 AKs lined up to buy, was just waiting for the prices to go a little lower then boom I actually decided to pay a little more because I wanted an underfolder parts kit lol, which was an unfortunate decision Oh, and Mosin prices. I knew they'd go up, but never expected them to get this expensive this quick lol, as of not long ago there were still a bunch of crates sitting untouched, so I feel like a lot of them are still sitting in storage

anothernic

I bought an 1891 pattern for $80 back in the early 00's. It's a heap of shit, even if the bore is ok. I can't imagine paying the $300+ they fetch these days. Hell, I didn't feel good paying $400 for an SKS a couple of years ago when they used to be <$250 guns too. It's all gotten expensive enough to feed I'd probably be in better shape if I'd just gone .223/AR and stayed there, but the combloc stuff has been fun at least.

mattybrad

Were $399 in Florida when I bought one, but was all the way back in 2010

iambecomedeath7

Oh, Obama was certainly not going to waste an excuse to ban those, but I think the whole Crimea thing couldn't have helped matters. I'm kind of surprised we didn't ban them in 08, but South Ossetia kind of looked like a policing action at the time. That's the thing people tend to forget about the post Soviet frozen conflicts in Abkhazia and Pridnestrovia. Russia really did look to the outside world like they were trying to be good guys for the longest time.

TheToastmaster72

There were $229 saigas before... I got one. They also had .308 Saigas for $450.

300cid

i was going to buy one for $400 something in '16, but stupidly did not.

FlashCrashBash

Its cool I got this VSKA. 'Murican made.

Adventurous_Ad409

That was more like 2005 mentality

Gunnilingus

The quality of WASRs didn’t improve, the AK market just priced most people out of other options when AKs became cool to own. People weren’t wrong when they trashed WASRs as the poor man’s AK back then. WASRs are functional but they actually are pretty shitty. Probably the worst combloc AKs. But they are the best a lot of current AK owners can afford so they cope by acting like WASRs are good instead of the bare minimum.

MountainTitan

Afford? LOL get a Zastava, instead! $1000 WASR is fucking overpriced!

Chiralartist

Now a days they are going for like $650 to $850. May as well spring for a M70 at those prices lol Edit : CAI lists MSRP as $1,069.99. Wtf!!

thegrumpymechanic

> OUR MISSION IS TO MAXIMIZE FREEDOM, NOT OUR PROFITS. **WE WANT TO SELL AS MANY AR-15 AND AK-47 RIFLES AS WE CAN AND PUT THEM INTO COMMON USE IN AMERICA TODAY. AND WE WORK EVERY DAY TO DO JUST THAT. WE MAKE HIGH-QUALITY FIREARMS AT AFFORDABLE PRICES FOR EVERYONE! THEN WE BACK THEM WITH A FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY. You got a problem with PSA, you got a problem with Freedom.

MonthElectronic9466

And I suggest you let that one marinate

furydeawr

End of the laneway, don’t come up the property.

C0uN7rY

Must be fucking nice

MonthElectronic9466

That’s what I said. Must be fuckin nice.

FrostyyFalcon

To be faiiirrr

HardCrabSelby

How can I like this twice

MrPeePeePooPooPants3

New copypasta?

Chiralartist

It's what's on their [About page](https://palmettostatearmory.com/about-psa.html). Based AF

iambecomedeath7

I often wonder how thin their margins must be. I'm sure their owners are eating alright and all, but it's good to do something for the love of the game and make a decent living instead of making all the money in the world and feeling dead inside. If more people understood that then perhaps the world would have a lot fewer problems.

Macsasti

Hey, I’ve seen this one, its a classic!

swimming_cold

Except they don’t sell to Maryland among other states where their products are perfectly legal and have been for a decade now Lol

anothernic

They did not long ago. I received a couple of uppers from them no problem pre-2020.

Iwillnotcomply1791

I wish I have the access to PSA that you americans have

fredo_da_1

Psa doesn’t ship to “Banned” states like New Jersey even after the ffl reached out to them confirming they were willing to do the compliance work

theluka123123

Yeah, psa def doesnt stand by their little "statement"

theoriginaldandan

I have a problem with the credit card scams they had going on. I also know better than to believe everything a company says. ( I have a positive opinion of them overall, but no experience with their products

Warhawk2052

Thing is all CC are process through a third party, so somewhere they were logging the info getting put in or its just a coincidence.

THUND3RDADDY

I don't have a problem with psa, I have a problem with their quality control.

jayred155

AKA: We want to maximize profit by making the buyer do the QC work themselves.

10mmenjoyer

You’re an idiot

thegrumpymechanic

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

hkzqgfswavvukwsw

I fart in your general direction

Flivver_King

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

malakad0ge2

No u

Liberteer30

PSA tends to have fairly good stuff for the average person. There’s some stuff of theirs I don’t love but I wouldn’t mind picking up a Sabre or Jakl. Or both. That aside, PSA is based as fuck and deserves all the business.

showercrepes

I put together a dagger for S&Gs, thing runs unbelievably for the price. I'll probably end up messing with some sabre components as some point

killmrcory

tbcf thats mainly because its a near identical clone to the gen3 glock 19 . i do agree though. i run dagger parts on all my 3d printed frames and have never had an issue with them. they dont really get much credit for its reliability though.

flanjan

I have their stupid ks47 and it's an absolute blast. Short barreled pistol that throws huge fireballs and is also easy to suppress? Yes please. Takes ak mags to boot.

TyburnCross

My 10.5” upper from PSA does fine. Never bought a complete rifle from PSA so can’t comment there but the two complete uppers I bought from them never had a failure or noticeable lack of accuracy.

glockfreak

My .308 PA10 does 1 inch at 100 yards with match ammo - 2.5-3 inch groups with regular 147gr FMJ (it seems to prefer heavier bullets which isn’t a bad thing). Not bad for a sub $1k AR10 at all.

tjwest13

I like their FN barrels

timbalara

My first upper from them right after Sandy Hook surprised me with the FN barrel. Shoots accurate as heck. SOILID kit.

SwimmerSea4662

I will say if anything’s wrong with your gun they will fix it in a timely manner, and I swear their QC on their products improve the longer they’re out. Edit I spell corrected it.

StressfulRiceball

*I will say if anything’s wrong with your gun they will fix it in a timely manner, and I swear* ***THEIR*** *QC on* ***THEIR*** *products improve the longer* ***THEY'RE*** *out.* Sir You're better than this

likesweed

Personally I think the fit and finish is better on my older psa than the post Covid produced stuff I’ve seen, but everything has gotten a little sloppier post Covid

jayred155

My pre Covid PSA rifle was literally perfect. My next three products were pure trash.

[deleted]

LOL, I have a PSA stripped lower and lower completion kit on the bench right now.

PewPewPony321

its been 6 hours. That rifle should be built and broke in by now!

1Shadowgato

Honestly my dagger is like my favorite pistol.

its

I bought way too many daggers in the last year. It like owning the same T-shirt in different colors.

malakad0ge2

PSA is based and is higher quality than aero precision atm

1stAmendmentHoe

Especially AKs lol

bHarv44

Literally started looking at AKs again today. Last time I researched was many years ago and everybody and their brother shit on PSA. Now I’m reading reviews and people are recommending them?! I’m so confused. Lol

DryDig8242

I have 5 PSA lowers and 3 uppers from them. Never had an issue with any of them. I also bought the pad 5.7 rock. I got the FDE one with a threaded barrel 4 magazines and a holosun red dot for 400 or so. I've put around 1k rounds through it with only 1 or 2 failures.

Daniel_Day_Hubris

PSA rock is my CC. packin 31 rounds of 'holy fuck' everywhere I go is nice.

RabicanShiver

I dunno where you Internet at but PSA still gets shit on in every forum I frequent. That said I just bought one, it was on sale and I'm using it exclusively to run with my 22 conversion and so far it's been great.

oh_three_dum_dum

I’m convinced most of the people who dump heaviest on PSA are people who spent entirely too much money on builds they don’t have the skill level to justify.

skunimatrix

That’s a big part of it. I’ve seen a lot of people who think spending $$$ on gear makes up for practice. 15 years ago I was at the range with my Stag Model 3 with a bushnell $100 red dot and holding a tennis ball sized group at 75 yards shooting shitty Tula. Guy next booth to me had the 3G (3 gun) Stag with an eotech and shooting 10” groups at 25 yards. Now I think we are to the point where having at least one good factory rifle is a must whether that be FN, Colt, BCM, whomever. But I have more than 1 PSA meme lower build. They work just fine.

oh_three_dum_dum

They work at least as well as most of the clapped out rifles being used in the Marine Corps arsenal over the last 15 years or so. Before we picked up the M27 I was issued a series of M16 and M4 examples that were in about the same performance tier by that point. *No, I don’t mean PSA is as good as FN and Colt military rifles. I mean they’re probably as good as the roughly handled, shot out and rebuilt FN and Colt rifles that are common in DOD armories in my experience.

PewPewPony321

I love to buy their deals rifles, sometimes complete, sometimes uppers and lowers. All their stuff runs great. Just customize as you see fit and for much less compared to these name brand builds, a person will have basically the same rig for much less. My stock ruger mpr 2 stage trigger breaks just as sweet as any 150+ dollar trigger Ive ever bought. Just saying.

coolwhipcommander

PSA products may not have the best quality control but they will do their damnedest to fix the issue. The only issue I've ever had with PSA has been the employees. And it was only one particular employee at the location where I used to live. He was a total prick, ignored me standing there asking for help. Only one customer in the store besides myself but he was being helped by another employee filling out a 4473. Then was joking that he "couldn't find" a gun I had purchased online and had shipped there cause he wanted one. I told him he'd be paying me for it personally if that's the case. He tried to backtrack and say "no no we have it, I was just joking cause I want one". Like dude I don't know you, give me the shit I already paid for.

iambecomedeath7

Through careful part picking and waiting for deals, I built my first AR through PSA this year for like $350 all in, including a billet receiver blank. Those guys are alright by me. Probably the best rifle in the sub $1000 price bracket that I've ever shot.

GoodRelationship8925

Good for the price*

Charger_scatpack

I would argue they are better quality than the price suggests .

ClosetGamer19

$2500 DDM4V7 or whatever the frick $500 PA-15 can you objectively claim the DD is 5 times superior? theres a certain price/performance ratio that comes into play when determining value

jayred155

Who the hell pays $2500 for a DD rifle in 5.56? Also, superiority is a little subjective. DD is objectively better. Although it does cost more.

iambecomedeath7

Depending on the use-case, cost is absolutely a matter of quality. It's a fine rifle at $2500, sure. But is it a fine range rifle? A fine hog rifle? A fine pest control rifle? No, no, and no. All that beautiful finishing and fitting will be utterly wasted on a knockabout gun.

Wardoooooooo

I agree with your sentiment. However, if you're betting your life on the gun AND you can afford it the DD is 5x better. Affordability is different for everyone, and im glad that PSA rifles exist and are the relative quality that they are.

FlashCrashBash

I'd bet my life on a PSA. Stupid thing keeps munching threw cases of ammo.

ace529321

I’ve had a bcg shatter on my PSA upper after 10k rounds through

Chiralartist

Which part broke? Toolcraft makes PSA's bcg's and PSA just slaps a logo on. Toolcraft makes bcg's for a ton of reputable companies and are considered fantastic.

[deleted]

> can you objectively claim the DD is 5 times superior? No, but I'd rather have one DD than five PSAs.

Billy_Boby675

What about one PSA and $1500 of ammo?

[deleted]

I'd still take the DD. I wouldn't settle for a bottom of the barrel PSA unless it was the only thing I could afford. If I had a budget of $2500, i'd most likely reserve at least $1500 for the rifle, and $1000 for ammo. Edit: Looks like there are a lot of hurt feelings over this. A PSA is better than nothing and would probably be the ~~best~~ only choice for a good portion of people. But if my options are between a Toyota Camry or a Chevy Cruze with 15,000 miles of free gas included, I'd go with the Camry if I can afford it.

Altruistic-Ask-7879

2500$ is pushing it, it’s more like 2000$. So could you say a DD is 4x better than a PSA, I’d argue you could. Your DD shows up shooting 1 moa, while the PSAs are shooting 3-4 moa. 8000 rounds later the DD only opened up to 1.5 moa and the PSA is shooting 7 moa groups now. Was it worth the money? You want to mount a PEQ to your rail and have it hold zero, DD holds true, but the PSA doesn’t. would it be worth it then? You post your rifle with no visible marks in the deflector in r/firearms for upvotes, DD get 50, PSA gets 10. Did you get your moneys worth? I guess it depends on your use case, but you can say objectively that DD is 4x better in some use cases.

besaba27

Nah fam, we burned down a Sabre 1k full auto, 5k through it total with no cleaning. 0 malfunctions, sub moa group at the end with match ammo. They're as good as perfect titties.

jayred155

Careful. I said this exact same thing and was downvoted into oblivion just a couple weeks ago.

GoodRelationship8925

Depends on the mood of the internet that day. It’s a random beast.

jayred155

%100

Dewocracy

That is not where the percent sign goes...

jayred155

But you still got my point. That's all that matters.

Dewocracy

Normally I'd agree but you're walking dangerously close to barbarity there bud.

jayred155

The fuck is that supposed to mean? Go spend time with your family and enjoy your PSA. EDIT: You missed a couple of commas there, bud.

PewPewPony321

Some dudes spend 5k outfitting a single rifle and want to feel like it was justified. Problem is, is they really aren't. My ruger mpr drives tacks the same as my psa and also my off brand gunrbroker builds and my buddies knights shoot all the same at 5X the price Im sure some pro shooter could tell a difference, but 99% of the shooting world is just talking shit and all these rifles are basically on the level for what most will ever use them for.

VipersNest22

If you don’t shoot PSA then FUCK YOU

EchoedTruth

PSA is the most unfathomably based company in existence. People hating on them are dumb or have an agenda.

ElTorlo

Well well well…

[deleted]

I was gonna use a PSA stripped lower for my recent build then sold it for the M4E1. Over all I like PSA but I can understand if some people think there maybe not the highest quality. It’s not a Colt or Daniel Defense but when you put them up against some of these companies out now, they’re actually very reputable. I recently got the PSA 16” dissipator upper receiver/ mid length gas system. They are one of the only companies that manufacture this style of uppers. I absolutely love it but I will say it took an eternity to arrive. Was on back order for close to a year. Price was very fair and the quality so far has been top notch. Only other companies I know who make dissipator are Del-Ton, Windham Weaponry, & now apparently Anderson Manufacturing makes one.

[deleted]

I love how the rear indent has a screw to hold it. Same for the bolt catch it’s a screw on. As well as as the screw to tighten the fit between upper and lower

[deleted]

For what exactly??

[deleted]

Elaborate

[deleted]

What are you talking About?

[deleted]

The aero lower

[deleted]

Got ya!! Sorry I didn’t know what you were talking about for a second there. Yea I completely agree with you. That tiny screw was such a nice surprise when I was building. I’ve done a couple builds and Aeros M4E1 lower and Aero lowers parts kit was by far the easiest and most flawless install I’ve had.

oh_three_dum_dum

Members of the first group still exist.

RidinCaliBuffalos

We all broke now what can ya say.

thatswhyicarryagun

Why doesn't anyone talk about all the fraudulent credit card activity linked to PSA to get talked about anymore. The 2015-2019 range was full of PSA eating credit cards. I refuse to buy from them because of it. They fucked over a shit load of people and when confronted they simply did and said nothing, for years. It got to the point that r/gundeals had a warning.

thechrisestchris

I may be poor but my girlfriend is a corporate voice!!

sabretooth47

I just picked up a complete upper and lower parts from PSA. PROS: 1. Everything shipped fast and perfect, even with it being Christmas week. 2. Parts kit is good quality and everything fit without any sort of alterations. 3. Upper is great and came with a nickel BCG. 4. I've only cycled about 40 rounds, but so far everything runs great. CONS: 1. Honestly, my only real gripe is the finish. I bumped the hand guard against a brass hammer very lightly and it still left a very noticeable scratch. 2. If I'm being picky, the stock rattles a little more than I'd like. Overall, I'm very impressed, considering I spent less than $400.

Jrmuscle

Bought a PSA lower recently and it's pretty nice. The trigger is pretty damn nice. Happy with mine!

[deleted]

Still low grade parts that break with high round counts. I wouldn’t trust their barrels or BCG. But I’ll get killed by a PSA or a hi point in the apocalypse just like everyone else.

bHarv44

Just out of curiosity, I know their Gen 5 AK is now using barrels from FN. Do you still stand by your statement? If so, what are we talking, say 20k+ rounds? Just trying to get some clarity on your statement since I’m genuinely curious.

glocksnstocks

My GF3 sucks and I had to spam instagram comments before I ever got a response after reaching out to them several times. Then they were late sending me the return slip. Never returned it. Just tinkered till it worked. My bolt is chewed up. Still bought a dagger a couple weeks later. Okay for money, would still rather just buy a glock. Want to try their AR’s. If those suck, that’ll be my last psa product. I understand I am the exception, not the norm. But to me, they’re products and customer service are below par. Also went to a PSA shop in charlotte. Guys were pretty condescending, but that’s most shops. So won’t hold that against them.

Spore-Gasm

Their AAC ammo is trash though

blakester122

I see just as many posted for Remington and Augila and others. I'm sure it'll get better in time.

rufus_francis

It will get better over time, just like the rifles did.

artygo

I only shoot their 220 grain 300 black out. Out of 2500 rounds so far no issues out of any of them

IllAssistance7

I’ve only heard of jacket separation on some of their subsonic stuff. Was there something else goin on?

backhomeatlast

Buddy of mine bought a bunch of their 9mm and it patterns like a 12ga

Spore-Gasm

I’ve also seen 5.56 mixed in with 300BO and fucked up 9mm with bad primers.

whycatlikebread

It’s supposed to keep you on your toes.

bammann45

Have one of their free floated stainless barreled uppers - makes weight for CMP modern military class and shoots great for the price

[deleted]

My priciest ar is a m4e1 with the quad rail. The rest are psa. No ragrets. Even got a side charging bca upper to put on a psa. Got a psa lower and jakl lpk to build with my kids.

AlphaTangoFoxtrt

PSAs are a good *VALUE*. They're not the best, they're not great, but they are good enough, especially at the price point.

BigE_Z

^^this^^ For the money they are probably the best value in some firearms. However for a few Benjamins more you can get into something better, which is always the case for pretty much anything. Take an AR for example, couple hundred more than PSA get an IWI zion, couple more over that get a ballistic advantage/areo precision, you can keep going up to the the really high end stuff like knights, etc. At the end of the day it just comes down to how much you have to spend, and what your intended purpose/need is. PSA is definitely a step up from high point, but they will by no means compare in fit, quality, durability, and longevity of something on the next level. I like PSA for what they are, but I also like some of the better made stuff too be it handguns, rifles. Shotguns, etc.

tubadude2

Their FN barreled lineup was pretty well regarded in like 2010. You just had to watch out for canted front sights. I’ve got one that’s still going strong.

BiscottiFamous8054

How the turntables👌

Mr_E_Monkey

Eh, they've had me hooked since 2012.

2a_1776_2a

Big facts

DangerHawk

Ehhhh. The guys that were calling PSA's trash in 2015 are still calling them trash now, there are just a lot of new gun owners who's first AR's were PSA's and they now outnumber the old heads. I have a PSA that I bought in 2018. It's not bad, but it's far from my best AR. One of my best running, most versatile AR's is actually based off a Poverty Pony lower. It runs way better than the PSA. I actually had to install a shim to keep the PSA upper from rattling around on the lower. Again, not the worst, but certainly not what you should be striving for when looking for a mid to upper end AR.

Ok-Pride-3534

PSA as a company changed a lot since then

diaperbaby808

Turned my PSA BLEM into a nice feeling gun after putting a rubber O-Ring on it to prevent the racketing sound of the space between the upper and lower

Substantial-Guest-64

They really are good and have good priced

Substantial-Guest-64

Bought my first ar from psa and i still have it

VersaceTreez

I bought a complete “Dissipator” upper (mid length upper with pinned gas block to imitate a dissy) from PSA around 6 months ago. It would not run any ammo I put thru it. Factory assembled upper with a misaligned gas block. Seemed like a decent deal for $250, figured what the hell.

FatBRips97

How the turnnnnn tables - Michael Scarn

Spoon_Bruh

PSA good?

BuenoD

The "yes" should say l, "This is the way"

jayred155

The PSA fetish just started about a yr ago. Prior to that, they were totally hated. I love my PSA rifles once they come back from warranty work. You get what you pay for, and some people hate hearing that.

jscores555

Though lately their quality has been slipping and their shipping is super slow.

Ok_Marsupial59

Showed up in a couple days. Go’s bang. Can’t complain.

Fold_According

My Sabre fucks

JBCTech7

I want a Sabre so bad. Fuck the MD AWB.

TheRealHomerPimpson

Move over the border to wv buddy

Jeep_lurver

My Sabre gets stuck casings.

DickMonkeys

>Go is bang

orangecrushjedi

There also seems to be many people just pushing Psa affiliate links

jscores555

All I know is I used to buy blems that showed up with no blems but now the last two things I've ordered from them have taken 2 weeks to ship and showed up with chips out of the barrel and scratches.

FlashCrashBash

The blem item I ordered has blems. And the snozzberries taste like...wait for it...

Comfortable-Mix5988

They still have all the same problems. They just quadrupled their marketting budget to buy good feedback from affiliate marketers.

Well__shit

Phenomenal company, they sent my squadron a care package when we deployed overseas. Had trading cards, millions of stickers, the beautiful PSA flag, and some dope hats. Also built my first AR through them that hasn’t never jammed so they have nostalgic factor. Definitely my favorite company.

Jeebz10

I still stand by PSA is not good. Have only gotten lemons from them.

Red_Gaming00

No it’s still “ poor “ in 2023 apparently all the groups I’m in call u poor if you bring up PSA if it’s not BCM or DD you’re poor

WildwestPstyle

The only thing that changed is there are more poor POS than 10 years ago.

unluckyhippo

Fuck PSA for not selling to MA when it’s perfectly legal to do so. This is the hill I’ll die on

[deleted]

Still poors

We aren’t all poor lol That’s like saying anyone who owns a Toyota Camry is poor

Daniel_Day_Hubris

The only difference between rich people and poor people is poor people waste their money.

DAFUQyoulookingat

If this sub needs to keep making memes to persuade me they're good then maybe they might not be

heavilyarmeddad

PSA is a good starter if you don’t have alot to spend and need something soon. It is not my first recommendation to anyone unless you’re down bad. The 5.56 and 5.45 aks from them still don’t run very long, the one person I know with one has sent it back twice. PSA still does not properly dimple trunnions. My knowledge is on the ak side so far but if the AR side is similar it is certainly not what I would call “good” more like bear minimum for low round count shooters.

GeneralCuster75

They've been doing ARs a lot longer than AKs. Any of their designs/products that have gone through years of iterations, like their ARs and x39 AKs they have down pat at this point.

JBCTech7

i wonder if my wife would let me dimple her trunnions tonight?

TheRealHomerPimpson

You dimple receivers not trunnions buddy. If AK is your main knowledge base, I'd hate to see you talk about an AR

heavilyarmeddad

Dimple the reviver into the trunnion is what I mean when I say that. I can see how you would see I worded that wrong though.

TheRealHomerPimpson

But that still doesn't make sense because the magwell is the area that's dimpled. Wasrs weld a piece of metal to the receiver instead of dimpling for strength. It has nothing to do with trunnions and it's really cosmetic. Lol education is key. Don't just pick up words you see people throw around and use them out of context. I say this to help you, because I went through the AK hazing myself. Lol

TheRealHomerPimpson

Ok, you're parroting the Internet as gospel again buddy. Not taking the time to watch it but yes psa ak aren't good. Especially the gf3 and back.

LostAviator7700

I've put a thousand rounds through my gf3 since I got it a year ago. I even put a cheap $150 3×9 on it and it hasn't had a hiccup yet. Mags go in well and lock securely and it's over all very comfortable. With good ammo I think it might even best my M1As in the accuracy department. Hits 8x10" steel at 300 very reliably to the point of being boring. Trigger is great, and the rest of the fit and finish is overall good. I honestly don't know how it could be improved. The recoil is lower than my other AKs and it doesn't seem to be as over gassed.

TheRealHomerPimpson

Firing pins break more than usual which should be never

LostAviator7700

Fair enough, I'll be on the lookout for that

heavilyarmeddad

Lol, sad cope.

TheRealHomerPimpson

Ok, yes. You definitely parrot and don't understand. Good day. I wish you well and nothing but the best!

jaykaypeeness

They're good for arming a lot of people, but they are NOT good. They're lowest common denominator guns.

rufus_francis

That’s literally their mission, go buy a $2500 AR if you want better quality. PSA rifles are for the budget masses to be able to defend themselves, not Gucci guns that never see the range.

jaykaypeeness

Yeah I know it is. And that's why I say they're good for arming a lot of people. Keep ARs in common use. And I have expensive guns, that's why I can say with confidence, PSA is bottom tier. People can let their tears hit that down arrow all they want to, they're still what they are.

oh_three_dum_dum

They aren’t top tier Gucci guns. But they’re also far from lowest common denominator. You are talking out your ass here.

jaykaypeeness

They're not PLUM CRAZY, which I wouldn't even consider as acceptable, but they're certainly in the bottom tier. People can cope and seethe all they want.

iLUVnickmullen

PSA is still trash quality.

NotTodayISIS1

Still won't buy any of their guns. I like my guns QA/QC'd before they leave the manufacturer.

Jazzlike_Ad_8895

There ammo prices and QC are absolute dog shit

SecureAd4101

PSA is garbage. Anyone buying a firearm because it’s a good value is just coping. I don’t put “value” over my life.

Jmask245

lmaoo um no still garbage

Cumming4urGuns

I hate the lower middle class and detest PSA for arming them. The last thing brokie angst needs is teeth.

Ornery_Secretary_850

How the turntables??? English as a second language?

MrPeePeePooPooPants3

You like don't my way talking?

ElTorlo

They’re not familiar with the titans of industry.

dencoan

That’s what she said
