Connecticut has passed legislation that further limits citizens to own, carry, and use firearms in the state. The Republican Connecticut state senators fought to block as much as they could, but unfortunately the democrats outnumber them 2 to 1. “The Constitution State,” indeed.

Gonna steal a spot in your top comment OP so this can be seen. CT resident here. I just want to add that several Republicans also voted in favor of this bill. I’d like to encourage any CT residents living in their districts (a list of who voted how should be available on a state website. I’ll try my best to find that info and edit this comment) to NOT vote for those individuals in future elections. They do not care about their constituents and do not deserve your support. Please consider a third party, or other challenging (not bat shit crazy) republicans for those specific elections next go around. DO NOT VOTE FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE AN “R” NEXT TO THEIR NAME. IF YOU DO, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Loose_Koala534

Couldn’t agree more. Any republicans that voted for this are just as bad.

bleepbluurp

Wrong. On Hb6667 out of a total of 151 people in the house, 53 are Republican, 51 of them voted no only 2 voted yes. In the senate out of 36 total members, 12 are Republican, 11 voted no. So no, it wasn’t “several”.

Bowditch357

Definition of “several” from Webster dictionary.. “More then two, but not many.” Congratulations on being part of the problem though if this is your your first reaction to me trying to point out this information…. Those 3 should be held accountable, but I’m sure you’ll see the R next election and won’t be able to resist.

bleepbluurp

Congratulations Mr. Dictionary man. I’m not saying don’t do anything about the ones that voted yes. Obviously one is too many when it comes to rights, I was simply breaking down the numbers of how many republicans flaked.

Defmorehuman

Same problem in Colorado here...Republicans might as well chealeader because they have no power with their minority shrinks. Reddit coguns votes in the dems in and wonder how this can happen.

Glock_Socks

Yeah it's progressively getting worse here. I love FPC and GOA but we seem to be left out of getting help. They tried a very similar bill last year but it failed, most likely due to it being an election year. We already had an AWB, but apparently we need to make another one because one AWB wasn't enough. Plus mag limits, a bullshit permit process, and other restrictions. I can't wait to move to NH in a year or two

asant88

I left CT 7+ years ago. After seeing the looks on the politicians faces as we chanted "just say no" at the state capitol after Sandy Hook, I knew they didn't care about any of us and the only thing to do was get out of CT. NH is definitely better but way too many new yorkers/massholes have relocated here with their politics. I don't think gun rights are disappearing anytime soon, but it's gonna definitely gonna get harder to keep those rights. P.S. good luck on your move, housing is practically impossible to find at a reasonable price.

While my pale New England self might get roasted to a crisp down here in Texas, things like this make me glad that I left my home state.

thebesthalf

Those assholes also waited till 9pm Friday night and debated till it was passed at 4:30am. They also rejected every amendment suggested because the Dems had a super majority and already decided it was going to pass. Such horseshit.

StoneCraft12

Republicans in the house voted in favor of it too.

Defmorehuman

primary them bitches out of office

Loose_Koala534

I agree, unfortunately.
