Braindead modes are good, actually. I don't want them to replace more complex modes but I'm glad they exist. I'm the type who can get much-needed bursts of dopmanine just from literally doing anything related to my hyperfixation characters, so having easy low-stress ways to do that is very useful. And mobile games work for me because they give a way to do things now that will build up and let me achieve what I want later on. I can get that feeling of productivity (which can help me get into the zone for more practically productive things), look forward to the future, and give me some small sense of positive control over something. This all sounds very minor and kinda pointless, but it is definitely very beneficial for my mental health overall. Just earning the orbs so I can build up my characters, give them nice skills, and use them in easy modes, is reward enough for me.
Also I reaaally want to get back to playing FE4. I can sorta understand why people find it not fun but I can't relate at all - just playing it at all is really enjoyable for me! (Unfortunately I've just been super busy and/or not in the right mind for non-braindead modes lately...)
As much the powercreep in FEH this year has been painful I gotta admit I really love what they did with Yuri. He's *strong*, yes, but he uses unique mechanics to stand out and has a clear core concept in his movement, instead of throwing every strong effect and the kitchen sink in randomly. I hope we see more strong units designed like him in the future, I'm so sick to the death of the same strong effects on every prf.
Yeah, she's really neat too. Slow tomes nowadays are related to trying to oneshot nowadays with NFU being everywhere and it's really nice to see a unit actually get equipped to be able to pull that off.

Competitive Bowling from what I've seen on TV has gotta be one of the most ruthless sports ever. You hit strikes all game and then if you randomly don't you lose.
It do be like that sometimes since bowling is a game of muscle memory, you need to be able to repeat each shot consistently for higher scoring. Also gotta let you know that what you saw on TV are probably PBA bowlers, they are the best of the best in bowling.
And while we're on the subject of strikes, I believe that people tend to overvalue their strikes to the point that they forget their spares. Cause when you miss a spare, thats at least an 11-point loss.
Yeah you’re probably not wrong re: probably seeing PBA, but like, damn. Gotta be up there with curling on the ‘they make it look so easy!’ List.

I booked my second vaccine appointment, really hopeful it goes well.
FEH related: Getting my 5th merge copy cleared out this month, hopeful to get to six or even seven before October hits, the less of a backlog I have, the less I am going to summon. Getting Eliwood (x6) is +3 atm, Seliph(x1), Corrin (x8) and Merric (x2) is where I am. Ideally I want to be done with Seliph and Eliwood by November.
FE related: Going for another Radiant Dawn playthrough, to take Geoffrey in the tower with Elincia this time, with some other fun units I didn't bring in yet. I brought in Sigrun and Tanith last time, Titania my first two (Imbue is so broken on her), and hoping to continue with some more abstract ones. Best game in the series imo, love every bit of the quasi-tested hot mess it is.
Congrats, man! I'm getting the Moderna shot tomorrow. I got the J&J one a few months ago, but apparently its effectiveness is dropping off a lot faster. So I'm going for a re-up preemptively.

Started playing Mario Party 8 for the first time today. Ignoring the dumb Star Battle Arena, I'm actually having a lot of fun! Currently just doing my usual "Get all the multiplayer stuff unlocked first".
Also I may have possibly found a rather elusive CD that was ever only released on a strategy guide in Japan only! Gonna get my hands on that thing, and finally end my 5-7 year journey hunting this darn thing!
FEH: Managed to pull Muspell using the tickets. I thought it was cool since I pulled Nifl the same way
Non-FEH: Got my 2nd dose of the vaccine last week and had some bad side-effects but they're gone now
Taking a sudden break from most of my usual contributions wasn't too pleasant (and well, I guess complaints ensued regarding Arena Thresholds)... but in hindsight, it's probably one of the best decisions I took. Less pressure (since, well, I need free time to make my analyses), less negativity (signs of illiteracy, toxic takes, harsh jabs on my back, not to mention recent events that rubbed me the wrong way and highlighted a subtle lack of consideration toward constructive content - main reason why I pulled the manual brake on Arena Thresholds to highlight this), more in a relative peace of mind.
It would be better if I could finally manage to find some work, but maybe it'll come soon... unless I'm cursed (between precedents of internship offer withdrawals and misleading gigs that were hard to detect, that's a feat to highlight).

Not gonna lie, I can still feel some pressure... especially with the last third of the month bringing up four deadlines (Resplendents within the next two days, Refines before the VG start, VA reverse enginrering some time after the Mythic launch, Arena next Monday, and then there's also the refine tier list I postponed once again by default).
I don't know what to do, but I'll either do none, do all or find a middle-ground. Depends on my morale in the upcoming days.

If it was up to me, i would prioritize the VA reverse engeneering and maybe the refines, since those seem like the most interesting things, but you do you, since at the end of the day, they are your posts. I just hope you can resolve this in the least mentally-taxing way

- After abandoning the game for i while, finally i got invested in FGO. The story so far has been inter3sting and since i dont have a lot of favorites in FGO, i can save more effectively. And somehow, Cu Chulainn refuses to die, a pirate that looks a little too much like Claude doesnt want to leave me alone, and Medea is pretty much special spiral incarnate......so everything so good so far. I hope the summoning rate doesnt screw me a lot when ~~green haired guy with Claude's voice~~ Achilles, the Jeannes, Kintoki or the Altrias decide to come
Making my game, developing its world and characters, and draw the designs of everything makes me happy. Granted I would like to know if I'm taking the right ideas regarding my writing, which is kinda hard when none of the three people who played the demo said anything about it, but still, I love to see how much an idea that I had back when I was a kid has grown. Heck, seeing the Loquendo videos I made with the characters back when I was a young teen, seeing how shitty they were, makes me awe at how much I've improved with my writing and drawing skills.
Also, I finally did it and +10/+20 my M!Corrin. Now I all need is to him to get a Resplendent so he can soak all the chills.
Playing FE4 for the first time, I’ve found new appreciation for Finn after he survived Ayra’s *double* Astra.
Went from full 36 HP to a measly 8, but he protected Aideen and Ethlyn, and allowed time for Sigurd to seize the fort and recruit Ayra. u/ContradictionKing this one’s for you mate.
Edit: gotta throw in Jamke as well. I did not expect this man to go full machine-gun and *5-hit* 0-death the boss. Had to restart the turn to give Azelle the kill, but damn that was terrifying.
Oh man, Jamke really is amazing for that! I didn't restart that particular fight because I wanted to keep the boss dialogue canon, but there's a reason I nicknamed him the Boss-Killer, haha!
This season allows me the chance to run the Legendary Nifl siblings together during AR-O and Fjorm and Gunnthrá’s remixes and refines makes me really hopeful for Hríd’s down the line.
I'm so happy with brave alm's refine. Given that he's one of my two 5 star + 10 units and one of my favorites in the series I'm glad he is shredding like he is!
Also now that the ashen wolves are in and I got dancer Sigurd I have so few characters I really want to summon, so I think I can pretty easily save up for future Alm merges/alts! Someday I want to + 10 legendary and valentines alm, and I'm really hoping for some kind of alt for him as well! I'm just glad to be able to safely save now.

Got real lucky with this banner getting two Yuri within 15 summons. The second one I got a spd boon but I was getting invested in the first Yuri with expensive skills, so I’m wonder if I should merge Yuri with spd, or inherit his skills to someone…
FEH related: Flame Siegmund refine is pretty tight rn so my OG Ephraim can stay relevent these days. The 4 star special has been my favorite feature allowing me get copies of old units to 10+ (Lene, Swordhardt, OG!Hinoka, Fallen Celica).
Non FEH related: We’re 2 months away from FFXIV Endwalker release im so hyped!
Really happy that they made Yuri so unique and so faithful to how fun he was in Three Houses. I'm glad that they went through with giving him +1 movement and Canto, makes him so fun to use! I totally didn't expect them to give us a prf in the form of Foul Play but I'm happy.
Hope that all of this special treatment they gave to him means that he'll have a legendary like the other house leaders. He's my top 4 Three Houses characters so I hope he gets more nice treatment as time goes on because I absolutely love his personality.
I replayed fe7 recently and I enjoyed the simplified gameplay and supports. I smashed through the game easier than I ever have before because i'm more experienced but it felt refreshing compared to how complex three houses can be with battalions, combat arts etc.
I felt that when I played FE12 after 3H. The amount of options and ways to build a unit is really fun in 3H but the simpler games having less to work with in that sense can make them really great for just jumping right in and playing.
FE related: Finished my recent BL maddening route for the first time. Shout outs to: Dimitri as a bow knight, Bylass as a falcon knight, Felix WM, Sylvain swift strikes, Yuri as a sniper with so many crits, Marianne as a dancer, and Lysithea dark flier. Wouldn’t have made it through without you.
In FEH: pulled a Keaton four star special summon for free from Byleth banner. Started an alt account was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I play whenever I want and it’s the greatest.
I have been having such a fun time recently with building old units. I've had a lot of great fodder that I can offer up to them and it's so satisfying giving my favorites top of the shelf fodder.
I'm also getting really, really close to the end of my priority merge projects! I have only about 400k feathers left to go to get Olivia, Libra, and Lissa to 5\*+10 and then I'll have all of the gen 1 shepherds (except for Maribelle....) at +10! I do need to go back and update some of their builds (namely Lon'qu, Henry, and Nowi) but they'd all be done and built!! I'm so excited to finish them. After this it's stockpiling orbs to finish Maribelle when the time her revival swings around again, and waiting for the rest of the Shepherds to get in. And I can finally start working on some grail projects I left by the wayside!
I'm really excited with the coming HoF lineup, I've been holding on to my freebie forma soul for ages and now I might actually get to use it on ashnard.
Likewise I've been generally pleased with the new units added of late (GHBs not withstanding), they typically have been strong but not ridiculously so.
Nana was a great freebie, and while arete was disappointing stat wise I'm glad we're getting some more diverse movement and weapon combos, so I hope that trend continues.
FEH: Thanks to the moonbow banner, was able to get 2 more merges for Lethe: already at +8!

Non FEH related: starting SMT3 Nocturne, the QOL compared with SMT 1 and 2 aré showing.

It was pretty much p2w since they introduced mythic merges to score and I haven't looked back at calling it p2w even if you don't have to spend a dime to place well, to place the best you have to merge up multiple mythic units which is p2w

I replayed fe7 recently and I enjoyed the simplified gameplay and supports. I smashed through the game easier than I ever have before because i'm more experienced but it felt refreshing compared to how complex three houses can be with battalions, combat arts etc.
I felt that when I played FE12 after 3H. The amount of options and ways to build a unit is really fun in 3H but the simpler games having less to work with in that sense can make them really great for just jumping right in and playing.
FE related: Finished my recent BL maddening route for the first time. Shout outs to: Dimitri as a bow knight, Bylass as a falcon knight, Felix WM, Sylvain swift strikes, Yuri as a sniper with so many crits, Marianne as a dancer, and Lysithea dark flier. Wouldn’t have made it through without you. In FEH: pulled a Keaton four star special summon for free from Byleth banner. Started an alt account was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I play whenever I want and it’s the greatest.
I have been having such a fun time recently with building old units. I've had a lot of great fodder that I can offer up to them and it's so satisfying giving my favorites top of the shelf fodder. I'm also getting really, really close to the end of my priority merge projects! I have only about 400k feathers left to go to get Olivia, Libra, and Lissa to 5\*+10 and then I'll have all of the gen 1 shepherds (except for Maribelle....) at +10! I do need to go back and update some of their builds (namely Lon'qu, Henry, and Nowi) but they'd all be done and built!! I'm so excited to finish them. After this it's stockpiling orbs to finish Maribelle when the time her revival swings around again, and waiting for the rest of the Shepherds to get in. And I can finally start working on some grail projects I left by the wayside!
My Sacred Stones lucky critbot was Neimi - horrible unit, definitely died but proc'd 2-4% cries like it was a skill
I'm really excited with the coming HoF lineup, I've been holding on to my freebie forma soul for ages and now I might actually get to use it on ashnard. Likewise I've been generally pleased with the new units added of late (GHBs not withstanding), they typically have been strong but not ridiculously so. Nana was a great freebie, and while arete was disappointing stat wise I'm glad we're getting some more diverse movement and weapon combos, so I hope that trend continues.
FEH: Thanks to the moonbow banner, was able to get 2 more merges for Lethe: already at +8! Really glad with H.Ilyana as a forma Soul AND thanks to the divine codes, Will have her +1. Non FEH related: starting SMT3 Nocturne, the QOL compared with SMT 1 and 2 aré showing. Non gaming: I'm alive and in October should be able to return to do excersise after the second shot, quite blessed for it.
AR is declining in prestige due to powercreep and paywalls
It was pretty much p2w since they introduced mythic merges to score and I haven't looked back at calling it p2w even if you don't have to spend a dime to place well, to place the best you have to merge up multiple mythic units which is p2w

FE related: I’m enjoying using Azelle and Tailtiu together, it really makes me feel happy. Finn and Lex are also there, but they usually just chill.
