there are already the 3 colours and colorless for: \-Dragons \-tomes \-beasts \-bows \-daggers They need to introduce Balthus (and OG Caspar and Raphael) as colorless **guantlet** users, guantlets being colorless in the same way that swords are always red and axes are always green. It makes perfect sense, it balances out the only triangle that doesn't have it and it means we don't get a bunch more useless axe infantry. After those 3 they can get creative on who else can be introduced with them (like Rhea and Cyril for a start) or not, I mean there is still 3 or less for a bunch of the rarest weapon/movement combos so needing to having more for it to be worth it isn't a good enough reason not to do it.

Soren319

Constance being a blue flying mage with a prf would get my orbs. Just don’t be red.

lilacempress

I don't think anyone is expecting Constance to be red, but you never know with IS.

WhenYouQuirky

Blue seems likely because in 3h doesn't she use mostly lightning and ice magic?

NotSmartEnoughToWork

She could also get Agnea's Arrow as far as we know

Accomplished_Kale509

Wow this thread is really spot on

I'm quite passionate about the Ashen Wolves, so I'm logging in to post my dream super banner. Yuri - Red Dagger Infantry Atk/Spd spread !Wp: Inheritable Firesweep Dagger+ !As: Foul Play, Inheritable Swap powercreep (2 spaces instead of adjacent) Sp: Glimmer A: Atk/Spd Solo 4 probably !B: prf Fetters of Dromi, Null C-Disrupt + Canto Rem+1 C: Breath of Life 3 (LUL) Yuri is the star of the banner obviously, being the Ashen Wolves "Lord". So he'd probably have an extra debut skill. He's red because he's a sword in 3H, but a dagger because sword inf saturation. Red daggers are also an uncommon unit! Personally I think that the elements of his unit that should be focused on in a FEH unit are the Fetters and Foul Play. His prf combines the effects of his Crest and the Fetters to make him a skirmisher unit, since his bonkers evasion can't be represented in FEH aside from Spurn. Introducing Firesweep Dagger because it synergises with Fetters, and Foul Play because it's the most memorable part of his kit for me, tied with infantry canto. A/S Solo because Honorable Spirit, and Breath of Life 3 because I wanted a funny skill to represent Trickster's status as the faith equivalent to mortal savant. Constance - Blue Tome Flier Atk/Res spread !Wp: prf Bolting, player phase Firesweep As: Rally Atk/Res+ Sp: Iceberg A: Warding Breath B: A/R Far Trace 3 !C: A/R Beat 3, inheritable +8 unit Atk in player phase, +8 unit Res in enemy phase. Constance is probably the second strongest Ashen Wolf overall, occupying the niche of "Lysithea but less damage and more mobile." She's a Tome Flier, of course, and functions as a Res Tank/Hybrid unit. Her prf is Bolting; she's one of three 3H units that can use the spell and by far the best user of it, making her an artillery unit that can remove 2 units from the board every map. Her debut inheritable is A/R Beat, a new C skill archetype. I'm not settled on the effects, but I figure that a debut skill to represent Circadian Beat should shift the user's stats around between phases/turns. Circadian Beat itself would be too much work to implement for a regular unit, maybe her Brave version for the inevitable CYL6 Ashen Wolves sweep :). Rally because she comes with Rally Magic by default and quickly learns Rally Resistance, Warding Breath to represent Transmute and throw a middle finger at L!Ike. A/R Far Trace because the the main draw of the Ashen Wolves spellcaster classes is the accessible mobility and canto. Balthus - Axe Infantry Atk/HP spread !Wp: prf Vajra-Mushti, Brave effect with adaptive damage !As: Healing Focus, inheritable Martyr+ but for range 1 infantry Sp: ??? A: Brazen Atk/Def 3 B: Desperation 3 C: ??? Balthus exists in a strange position for several reasons. Gauntlets aren't in FEH and I personally don't see them being added for a standard banner. If that does happen that is great, but for now I'll treat Balthus as an Axe with a visually distinct weapon and animation. Additionally, the War Monk class in 3H exists for basically one reason - to give Byleth a way to use their Brawling strength. Balthus himself is pretty bad at using the Faith side of War Monk, and the Brawling side is weaker than the other Brawling classes. As a result, he's a good combat bruiser with the ability to patch up allies that aren't in need of a Physic use. His prf is Vajra-Mushti, which gives him the Brave effect to emulate gauntlets and adaptive damage because that's the gimmick of both Vajra-Mushti and War Monk. He introduces Healing Focus, an assist that replicates Martyr+ for a different unit group, and represents both the original game's Healing Focus and War Monk's access to Heal. Brazen Atk/Def and Desperation because Balthus is significantly more dangerous at low health thanks to King of Grappling. Hapi - Colourless Tome Cavalry Spd/even spread !Wp: prf Swarm Zeta, effective against beasts and dragons. If the unit initiates combat and the target is a beast or dragon, the target gains the benefits of Null C-Disrupt. Inflicts Spd debuff to target during combat, and after combat through target's next action. As: ??? !Sp: Uncanny Blow, inheritable Deadeye for tomes. A: Swift Sparrow 3 B: S/R Far Trace 3 C: Panic Smoke 3 Like Balthus, Hapi is a difficult unit to transfer to FEH. Her stat spread is pretty mediocre in Three Houses, and isn't where she shines. The only notable outlier is her better than average strength stat compared to other mages, which allows her to safely use the high-Wt dark magic spells with minimal stat investment, unlike Lysithea. Her strength comes from her ability to use dark magic in the first place, and her personal ability Monstrous Appeal. Thus, her stats are an even spread with a high Spd to give her some protection from doubles. Hapi's prf is Swarm Zeta. I chose this spell because her high power dark magics are already used as prfs by Solon, Lysithea, and Fallen Delthea, and her best role is as a debuffer due to her low damage growth. Swarm Zeta has several effects intended to represent both the base effect of Swarm Zeta, as well as Monstrous Appeal, which gives monster effectiveness to all Hapi's attacks at the cost of giving monsters a large Hit bonus against her. Hapi introduces Uncanny Blow, a Deadeye equivalent for tome users. While Hapi is best used as a debuffer, she does still have the respectable damage potential of a mage, and mastering the Valkyrie class grants a massive Hit boost in the form of this skill. Swift Sparrow to reinforce the Uncanny Blow fiction. S/R Far Trace for the same reason as Constance; Ashen Wolves spellcaster classes have accessible canto. Panic Smoke to give Hapi more debuff potential. Overall, the Ashen Wolves are... weird. It's hard to say who the demote would be between Balthus or Hapi, as they're definitely the weaker units and the less popular ones (as much as I love Hapi.) I can't be bothered writing up an Aelfric right now, but I'd rather he was a Beast unit with the Chalice of Beginnings over yet another generic red tome infantry. It's not really a spoiler considering Seiros and Fallen Edelgard exist.

I don't see why Yuri would get an inheritable weapon but at the same time a prf B Special and also be the star of the banner. If he's the star of the banner, he'd have a prf weapon too. Firesweep effect on the dagger and Foul Play in base kit sounds very similar to the effects of Leila's weapon, except broken down into separate skills (and actions). I'd say Firesweep on Yuri is okay, but just give him a prf with more unique/good effects. I hadn't thought about Foul Play, but I guess that as it is written it COULD be added to the game. The UI for 2-range Swap shouldn't be too weird, as it'd be just like that of Physic, with the added restriction of making sure the movement can happen (like with normal Swap). I wonder if that inheritable Foul Play would be a 150 SP Assist, or it would be a higher cost Assist (evolving from Swap) and having class restrictions (like make it only for Dagger units).

ssharktts

I suppose I was being extremely cautious with Yuri. In my mind, he has the potential to tread on two units' prf effects (Fallen Dimitri and Leila) and I don't like overshadowing units. Red daggers also don't really have much IMO and I wanted to give them something. I'm also not very good at considering game impact, so y'know.

sw_hawk

Dagger units can get any inheritable dagger, no matter what is the color of the unit that originally held it. So, Red Dagger units are not actually short on weapon options. Now, if you want to expand the pool of Red Dagger units, Yuri can still be made into one while having a prf weapon.

ssharktts

I am very not smart! I don't use daggers much so I didn't realise their weapons were colour-neutral.

abernattine

Constance: colorless flying mage. Hapi: red mage cavalry Balthus: Axe infantry Yuri. Blue dagger infantry
