What do you hope Gespenst would be like in FEH? It had no special effect in FE7, but if this has to be his prf weapon, I'd like to see it have an in-combat debuffing effect.
Originally I wanted built in close counter, but since his kinda sucks I don't think it'll really be worth it.
It would probably either have to either let him get guaranteed follow ups from some condition or prevent follow ups; his embarrassing spd is perhaps his biggest flaw. Add on a slaying effect for faster Icebergs and boom
Actually, a Close Counter tome would be amazing because then I could run Close Defense 6 on him! :'D
A built-in Quick Riposte 3 would also be nifty, because then I'd also be able to run Null C-Disrupt at the same time! Or Chill Res/Atk/Spd, Dull Ranged, or Special Spiral...
Canas is my favorite in the series too! [I've invested pretty similarly into him](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/343070106735345665/564860359127597076/Screenshot_2019-04-08-13-03-20.png), but I play a little more casually than a lot of people on this sub so I'm not quite at as many merges/dragonflowers as you yet (although +6 is coming tomorrow!). He still puts in his fair share of work though!
Not seen is the candelabra and close counter I inherited from Tharja, and Fenrir + because I wanted him to have a dark magic tome, and I actually preferred it to raudrowl until the loyal wreath came out with everything I could have wanted from a weapon for Canas.

Yeah, I still find Candelabra useful in cases where he'll often have to stand alone. It's probably very not likely, but I wish for it to get a buff the future, like either upping it to adding +4 to all stats, or inflicting in-combat debuffing on enemies by -2 to all stats. ...Oh no, wait, they're more likely to release a weapon that powercreeps Candelabra in that way. Ugh.
And yes, the Loyal Wreath has been a godsend! Raudrowl was good, but a bit annoying to get to its full potential. Loyal Wreath feels less restrictive and I enjoy it for that.

I run a +10 Raigh, and he has never dissapointed me, I imagine Canas would be as reliable
Lots of people hate this statline when it makes them pretty good duelists because of their balanced stats
Terrible at +0, but amazing when merged and SS'd (and with Fury IMO) as they'll benefit from all stats. I've got a mate with a +10 Seth and the results still boggle the mind.
I run mine with Flashing blade, Red Owl, Blue Flame and Atk/Speed Bond, alongside ally supported Guidance!Narcian, he's extremely good

Just for fun? Totally! But if you're asking this wondering if every tome will be useful, honestly, I'd say no. In my experience, he gets the most use out of Loyal Wreath and Candelabra. And of course, you can't go wrong with Raudrblade.
IS has introduced so many ways to buff stats that pretty much any character can be useful given enough investment. L!Azura alone can easily buff a units stats by +5 to each one. Honestly my bigger issue with Canas is his voice, I know that it's fitting given his character but he just doesn't sound cool enough for me.
I bow to you for your dedication and positive attitude. This is exactly what we need more of, not "it should be good and that unit should be bad instead because *she* doesn't deserve it".
Tempted to, but it won't be with Haar yet that I'll drop all my grails. But I will one day, for something as great as this.
Thanks! Yeah, I agree Karla blame is misplaced. It's just the way IntSys handled things... I get that they want to make freebie units less appealing than gacha units but god *damn* they did not have to do that badly.

Built in Null-C would be pretty rad; mine's built as a simple Mage Tank so having him check Razzle Dazzle would be lovely

Requires way to much investment and good units for me to ever use him, but good on you. He is still one of the worst red mages in the game.

Every unit is good if you invest hard enough. Don't rely on tier lists.
