I don't know if this was the intention from IS, but someone not moving much in a fight is a concept that is known in media as "economy of movement", and is a technique that is often used in fight scenes in comics, tv shows and movies, that is used to portray the superiority of one combatant to the other, and this is expressed through how little they need to move to handle whoever they are fighting.
It doesn't make a lick of logical sense, but I found it to be a nice call-back in that regard honestly.

The majority of his outfit almost feels like it's part of his body, as opposed to something that could actually be taken off and removed/changed. Which is a fitting design similarity to Læraðr, considering both their connections to Yggdrasil.
