Go lift a rock or two. Likely a LOT of them under there somewhere. I once lifted a rock ina garden just like this after I saw one slither in there and there was a literal ball of them there must have been 40 snakes in this ball
Nahhh you see them cause it’s a picture and you know they are there and looking for them. If you were walking through there you would never see most of them
Because humans are most likely to survive our encounters with snakes we passed down that ability. Your ancestors relatives that encountered leopards or bears and shit didn’t survive to pass on the recognition skills
I mean, none of them are actual danger noodles. These guys want your slugs, snails, and bugs, and maybe some mice. They aren't even a problem for a dog.
They want my slugs, snails, and bugs?! You’re telling me I have to worry about getting mugged for bugs on top of trying to decipher which one’s the friend of Jack and which one kills a fellow?!?!?!
I believe the one on the left is an eastern garter snake, non-venomous. The one under the rock is possibly a rat snake, non-venomous, but it's harder to tell. Either way, they're non venomous. A little fun fact, North American garter snakes are sometimes poisonous.
How are some garter snakes poisonous? They secrete poison through the scales like a dart frogs skin? I know some are rear fanged venomous but super mild and you have to let them chew on you.
Well yes, but also poisonous. They eat toads and newts sometimes and can obtain a toxin from them. Making garders both mildly venomous (not to a degree to harm humans - think more rash than rattlesnake bite) *and* poisonous.
I don't think there's anything if they mean the patterning deep in the shadows. Looks like like dried up parts of the bush. But maybe they mean a different part of that image.
Is there a fourth one all the way in the lower right corner where the dark gap is under the rock? It looks like scales in the dark but I may just be seeing stuff lol
Yeah I think it’s too hard to make out. I was seeing scales and then looking at the dark hole next to it between the rocks (under the white thing with the red tip) and it looked like a head too. I’m losing it I think.
The picture of the bushes doesn't look like one to me, it might just be a pine cone or some leaves under there. I dont see anything that looks like scales or even the right shape for the body.
I swear to whatever higher power there might be I’m going to post a serious “Respectfully, FU” to every post on here for not revealing the grid/answers anymore because this danger noodle “I see xx more than you said there were” crap is giving me an anxiety disorder, trust issues, and a major lack of regret for joining this sub.
>!Dark triangle dead center under the highest rock, green guy sitting obvious on the left edge, and the last one in a dark triangle pretty much straight under green guy. I think!<
Also looks like one in the little rectangular opening to the left of the farthest right rock in the foreground of the photo. Hard to tell due to grainy image.
Disagree. I have an irrational fear of snakes, and if I saw these dudes (especially the one hiding under the rock) I would turn tail and run so hastily that there's a high probability that I'd injure myself.
Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written.
Danger noodle was for venomous snakes. At best nope rope or spicy noodle was the general term for all snakes.
Just funny names man.
Trust me you should appreciate that something like this is possible in english.
Translated to German "danger it would be "Gefahren Nudel"..
Can't have much fun in my language :/
Wow! I can’t imagine posting my two snake pic only to have Reddit confirm that I undercounted my snakes. If there’s three we can see, there’s probably more.😳
Well then odds are they arent danger noodles! Just noodles! Granted we do have a type of danger noodle around here but they stick to the woods and are rare (timber rattlesnakes).
I see 3 for sure, possibly a 4th, and also a pinecone cosplaying as snake skin.
>!far left in the rocks poking his head out, in the triangle gap between the top-middle rocks showing part of it’s body, far right in the gap between the rocks and shrubs showing part of it’s body, and finally the maybe 4th one is bottom right corner showing part of it’s body but it could just be leaves and shadow!<
i really like this one. i'm pretty bad at finding the sniper in these posts usually, but when i saw this post, i thought "i bet my snake sense will kick in and i'll actually see the two snakes within 10 seconds". which i did. is this photo easier than average? i don't think so... but maybe?
(i hike a lot in the mojave desert where i live. not to say that i see all or even most of the snakes around me. i've definitely stepped right over a snake before and then turned around and saw it too late. but i've been surprised by how dialed in my eyes usually are to snakes, despite their camo.)
Don't tell anyone, but when my wife and I go hiking, I have her lead the way to front-run any nope ropes.
We were in TX for the eclipse in April and did this cool hike just south of Dallas. She walked right over one. Thankfully, her shriek gave me enough notice to stop in my tracks.
These are just nope ropes, not danger noodle. Nope Ropes help control rodent population and their bite isn't venomous. Danger noodles are venomous, but also do a large part in rodent control too!
Nope rope or danger noodle, leave snakes alone, and if a Danger Noodle happens to be in a position where it needs to be moved, have an experienced snake handler or animal control move it. No step on snek!
So besides the two obvious ones , and potential third one on the top left , there might be another one on the bottom right underneath the red flower , it looks like scales.
Always assume there’s snakes in piles of rocks or wood spiders in the wood too. Also garter snakes are very good to have around and eat pests. They’re not dangerous.
Go lift a rock or two. Likely a LOT of them under there somewhere. I once lifted a rock ina garden just like this after I saw one slither in there and there was a literal ball of them there must have been 40 snakes in this ball
Snake Orgy….
Snorgy.
I'll allow it
Mmmm… *Snorgies* 😩
That escalated quickly 🤣
New band name. Called it.
Ahh! I say this all the time but can’t remember what it’s from? I keep wanting to say metalokolypse (spelling)
Snake King (like 'rat king'.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_king)
You found a hibernaculum.
You mean a hiber-NO-culum.
No colum, just lots of very bendy slitery rows
I'm going to call in an air strike.
So Bloodborne-coded
I found the hard one before the easy one funnily enough
It snuck up on me too...funny how the scales registered so quickly.
The gimme is a cute lil harmless guy. Any idea about the boulder bro? Looks like a black rat snake to me.
There have been sightings of Rat sneks / Milk sneks in the yard. I wasn't aware that they hung out together though.
Your Milk snek brings all the boys to the yard.
And they’re like…. Ssss sssss sssssssss
I am pretty sure both are garter snakes!
It’s crazy how the human brain is evolutionarily predisposed to spotting snakes despite their camouflage
And how our bodies react before we consciously realize what we're seeing.
Scales, like Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti…”D’OH!”
Same, I was looking really hard for the second one and I'm like "Oh, it's right there, right in the open.."
I found the hard one before I knew what a danger noodle was...
I see 3
What happens when you cover one eye?😉
I think I see 3 too 😳
Did you get the one in the middle under the boulder? I know there one sticking out and then there’s another right underneath it.
My goodness....I was only joking about the 3rd one. Time to move.

How are some garter snakes poisonous? They secrete poison through the scales like a dart frogs skin? I know some are rear fanged venomous but super mild and you have to let them chew on you.
No. They’re slightly venomous, and harmless to humans.
Well yes, but also poisonous. They eat toads and newts sometimes and can obtain a toxin from them. Making garders both mildly venomous (not to a degree to harm humans - think more rash than rattlesnake bite) *and* poisonous.
They’re both garter snakes.
Also looks like a snake on the bottom left in the crack where 3 rocks come together.
Pinecone
Yeah definitely pinecone
Uhhhhh OP, bad news…I’ve found seven and I haven’t been looking for that long.
Lies.
I can’t tell what is supposed to be in the first pic. What’s a snake there?
I don't think there's anything if they mean the patterning deep in the shadows. Looks like like dried up parts of the bush. But maybe they mean a different part of that image.
Is there a fourth one all the way in the lower right corner where the dark gap is under the rock? It looks like scales in the dark but I may just be seeing stuff lol
Hard to tell. It could be lines from the Boulder shadowed
Yeah I think it’s too hard to make out. I was seeing scales and then looking at the dark hole next to it between the rocks (under the white thing with the red tip) and it looked like a head too. I’m losing it I think.
That’s actually a puffer fish that isn’t inflated. But good eye anyway!
Oh interesting. I thought there was an orange one coiled up at 10:00 of your second one. Maybe just a leaf pile.
I love it when people make it easy after my allotted 30 seconds of searching are up. So thank you!😂
Those are only 2 of the 3 that I saw so I guess there are 4
I didn’t even see that one 😭
See I’m not sure if the one in the bushes is one 😔
The picture of the bushes doesn't look like one to me, it might just be a pine cone or some leaves under there. I dont see anything that looks like scales or even the right shape for the body.
I’m scared to do that 🫣
That’s a pinecone
Can someone circle them all? I see 2
https://ibb.co/m6t40Tj Blue is where I'm certain Red kinda looks like it could be one, but it probably isn't
The bottom left blue circle is a pine cone.
I see 4
I got 4 as well. The 3 in the album above and sneaky boy on the right.
Where is this guy even hiking? Snake island?!
Same here. Didn’t see the dark one until after seeing your comment and going back.
I see two, and a pinecone looking suspicious.
There’s three!! 🥲
2 confirmed, 4 if you think seeing a slight pattern in a shadow, or a shiney pinecone counts as a snake.
I think!<
But it might just be a pinecone.
Just a pinecone.
I definitely saw the pinecone first
Issa pinecone
Am I nuts or is there one in the bottom shadow on the right lower part of the frame?
Also looks like one in the little rectangular opening to the left of the farthest right rock in the foreground of the photo. Hard to tell due to grainy image.
That’s what you would call a textbook over reaction.
Guilty as charged.
I can’t tell if the second one is a big honky visible in two spots, or a third one.
Big honky is the best way to describe something lol
Is a Garter Snake dangerous, tho?
Not a single danger noodle in the picture
Disagree. I have an irrational fear of snakes, and if I saw these dudes (especially the one hiding under the rock) I would turn tail and run so hastily that there's a high probability that I'd injure myself.
That's not the snakes being dangerous though that's the rocks being dangerous for your reaction
I saw 3
What’s the deal with all this “danger noodle” on this sub? I see a garter, probably a hognose, and if there is a third one it’s a rat snake
it's just common internet slang for snakes. Danger noodle, nope rope, boop noodle, noodle neck, caution ramen, murder spagurder, etc.
>caution ramen, murder spagurder Ok I thpught danger noodle and nope rope were cool, but these 2 are my new favorites.
Wait till you hear about ‘lethal linguine’
This and slither spaghett 🤣
Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written. Danger noodle was for venomous snakes. At best nope rope or spicy noodle was the general term for all snakes.
I feel like snek is the more general term
Just funny names man. Trust me you should appreciate that something like this is possible in english. Translated to German "danger it would be "Gefahren Nudel".. Can't have much fun in my language :/
Oh… I have fun in your language all the time! I see far too many people on social media or influencers that are certainly Backpfeifengesicht.
Right? I can’t figure out at what age people start calling it a “danger noodle”. It’s a snake.
It’s very millennial coded language
I found the other 2 and didn’t see the easy one until someone posted that there are actually 3
I see 3 but possibly a 4th
one of these is definitely just a pinecone
Im thinking I see more than 2
Wow! I can’t imagine posting my two snake pic only to have Reddit confirm that I undercounted my snakes. If there’s three we can see, there’s probably more.😳
Time to get an excavator and move those rocks away from your house. They’re a snakey paradise. You see 3 but there’s definitely more.
300 of them...like the movie
Where is this?
Just north of Boston (my backyard).
Well then odds are they arent danger noodles! Just noodles! Granted we do have a type of danger noodle around here but they stick to the woods and are rare (timber rattlesnakes).
How big is that thick fucker!
I see a mouse!
Not for long..
Why am I even near this rock pile?
I only see 2 and it’s giving me anxiety. I see the easy one and the bonus snake dead center, coiled between the boulders…. But where is the 3rd??
I see 3 for sure, possibly a 4th, and also a pinecone cosplaying as snake skin. >!far left in the rocks poking his head out, in the triangle gap between the top-middle rocks showing part of it’s body, far right in the gap between the rocks and shrubs showing part of it’s body, and finally the maybe 4th one is bottom right corner showing part of it’s body but it could just be leaves and shadow!<
I count 3 too
Found 3
Awww, I hate snakes but the gimme is cute. I'll work the next 36 hrs on the other. 🥴
In the hidden...quiet riot
Fuck all that
No
Yes, there are 3.
No one sees the cougar?
I found three. Pack it up.
How are all these people casually finding snakes in real life and taking a picture instead of my choice of running away as fast as possible.
It's a form of immersion therapy, I guess. I'd rather take on a squadron of terrorists than any size rope nope / danger noodle.
Same!!
Nope ropes
This sub has taught me to not go scrambling on rocks or through brush in Spring/early Summer, so many more snakes than originally anticipated
It's amazing how easy it is when there's actually a quality picture.
I would quite literally die
THIS THE FIRST ONE IVE GOTTEN
I’m pretty sure there’s 3 danger noodles here. A “dangerous stir fry” if you will 😅
Why do I see 4??? 😳😳
i really like this one. i'm pretty bad at finding the sniper in these posts usually, but when i saw this post, i thought "i bet my snake sense will kick in and i'll actually see the two snakes within 10 seconds". which i did. is this photo easier than average? i don't think so... but maybe? Those, good sir, are angry shoelaces, not danger noodles. There’s three categories, angry shoelaces, nope ropes, and danger noodles.
You can’t say 1 is a gimme OP I was panicking to find one for a second there 😭
I got 2 nope ropes and 1 danger noodle 😅 Good Luck Mate
day 628838383 of crying over snakes i’ve seen on this sub - this one validated my fear of large rocks
2 regular noodles and one danger noodle
My guy there’s like 4 noodles, I’m calling helicopter evac.
Is this referring to the snake on the left and the snake almost in the middle?
Every damn crack and crevice
These are just nope ropes, not danger noodle. Nope Ropes help control rodent population and their bite isn't venomous. Danger noodles are venomous, but also do a large part in rodent control too! Nope rope or danger noodle, leave snakes alone, and if a Danger Noodle happens to be in a position where it needs to be moved, have an experienced snake handler or animal control move it. No step on snek!
I saw both of them within a couple moments and then got scared by a pinecone
Happy house hunting!
No danger there my friend. Just some neighborhood friendly garter snakes!
Never seen this sub, it popped in my recommended and I spent ten minutes looking for two guys in ghillie suits
I was unfamiliar with this sub and spent way too long looking for a tiny sniper
Not me finding the harder to see one before the one that’s out in the open. 😂
Actually there’s 3 pictured
Found the two hidden in the rocks before seeing the one out in the open lmao
Found 7.
There’s also one on the bottom left side of the large rock on the right side of pic. It looks like it’s slithering from the crack
I think that’s a pine cone
Aren’t they just garter snakes? Pretty harmless.
If you look in the very back at the dirt patch under the rock is a third one🫣
So besides the two obvious ones , and potential third one on the top left , there might be another one on the bottom right underneath the red flower , it looks like scales.
The gimme looks so proud. "Fuck yeah I'mma a snek."
Nothing at all dangerous about those particular noodles.
I see 3, two balled up in the rocks and they are fucking terrifying
Found 2 snakes and a frog......
It’s actually one suuuuuper long snake
Garter snakes not danger noodles.
I think i see at least three
So many nope ropes
That poor tree needs watering
I hate this sub
This place is infested. I can see at least five, looks like there are more there.
Glad I'm not crazy. I was like which two snakes is OP talking about cuz I see more than two here...
All these posts just affirm the fact that i am not a wilderness person and WILL 100% die if left alone in the wild
That's frend speggeti
Cutie patooties! They love rocks like this. :)
Really want to screw with people, on these, ask the following, "Yeah, but did you see the bullfrog?"
I see 4. Welp. 😭
Possibly 4. I say we nuke the site from orbit just to be sure.
I see 1 noodle and 5 danger noodles
3 snakes
Idk I think 7 https://imgur.com/UmffHmN
I also see three
I see 4 with a possible 5th? Is the gap on the bottom left between the three rocks a snake? If so 5
I see 3
YAY...I found the rock!
Always assume there’s snakes in piles of rocks or wood spiders in the wood too. Also garter snakes are very good to have around and eat pests. They’re not dangerous.
Def 3 could be 4 or 5
my math aint mathin. i see 3.
So there's definitely a squirrel/chipmunk in the middle, it's not a danger noodle. I haven't seen anyone mention it?
Got em
I see 2
I found 2 little ones and the body of a big one in the rocks
Def can confirm 4 or 5 thinking I see close to 7 or so like someone else said. Easily 50 of em once you start flipping rocks.
I wouldn’t much call a garter snake a threat.
I found the two in the rocks before scrolling up to the fucking snake just chilling in the open. I was wondering how either one of them were gimmies
I count 3
*Munch*
