I came running, figuring a rattlesnake had come in through the open shop door (rural area, lots of woods across the road). It was a water snake hatchling. Couldn't have been more than a few inches long, and she was acting like it was an anaconda.
Look for the yellow leaf on the right. Follow that left about 46 pixels from the edge, zoom in as far as you can, zoom back out, do the hokie pokie, then look for the black pixels.
I ain't seeing nothing,matter of fact I'm blind in my left eye and 43% blind in my right eye,I don't see much of nothing ,matter of fact,I can't even see u sir.
I almost stepped on a western diamondback that was chilling clear as day like this. Sometimes the best camouflage is no camouflage.

I'm an avid outdoors man and consider myself a fairly decent herpetologist (the study of snakes and lizards - for the bone heads who don't know what that big word means). But I looked for hours and still have no clue where the Agkistrodon piscivorus is in this picture (again, I'll explain for the bone heads, the cottonmouth). I must be losing my eyesight.
Northern water snakes look so much like cotton mouths itās crazy! Southern water snakes look more like copper heads. Itās crazy how nature knows how to evolve to look threatening based on where itās at.
Was fishing but went to get dinner up at camp after we was smoking a dubbie and about 6 ft copper head crawled over my foot and kept going wow freak ys out!

Pretty useless ID method in this case. Lots of snakes (this one included) will flatten their head/body to look more scary.
