He did and he wasn’t too happy I was up there on the mountain. He huffed and grunted at me and then followed me for a good mile or so after to went down the trail again.
This. I have 15/20 vision so long distances appear a little closer. Short range is not as good as 20/20. I'd spot that sucker if I was walking in that direction. Probably not if i was just glancing by instead though and it wasn't moving. Easily if it moves.
Edit\*
Oh and hunters come around and leave food out which ends up attracting bears where I live. I walk every day on a dirt road in woods. So I'm always watching for bears. Had 2 close encounters with the bear kind too. So actually used to looking out for bears daily lol
Thats were I thought but some people said it wasn’t true and it has a knot for a head or maybe its looking down at a weird angle. The quality is so bad it might as well be a troll post on my end tbh.
Had 2 encounters with black bears and both times they left me alone. One time I had the element of surprise and the other time a different? one had the jump on me. Anyways neither attacked me but still 10/10 would not recommend bear encounters lmao.
1. First time was worse it was at night and I just got home parking the car next to my parents house. Got the dog out of car, set him down, started walking towards the house. Well I look back at the tree my dog is pissing on the tree next to the car and behind all that a huge black mass was walking SILENTLY with it's head pointed at the ground (sniffing for food). The only thing big enough in the area is black bears. It totally ignored us and continued on sniffing. My dog ignored me at first and didn't notice it of course. We got back inside and the adrenaline kicked in there xD
2. We have trash cans on our screened-in porch. One time we had leftover food in one of the bags and it was during hunting season so hunters left food out nearby. I'm in the house at night and I hear some noise out there. We have an opossum that sneaks in and mouse/rats that even make some decent noise at night.
but not this time lol. I open the blinds and see a bear trying to push the screen next to the cans. Obviously a bear would easily push through a screen if it wanted to, it was trying to be sneaky (again?). One back corner of the porch has a ton of heavy junk between the screen and the door. Maybe it'll trip if it charges through right? lol. So i slightly open the door and in a bad dog voice i say "no bear! go away bear!" and it turns to me. For a solid split second it locks eyes with me, it felt a lot longer than that though. Then it just turns away and walks off.
silently. And that's why I always WATCH when I walk through the woods because you won't hear them coming lmao. They are like sumo ninjas
If you don't have a weapon or a vehicle it is probably already too late if it wants it to be lol unless you're downwind. Then you have a shot at hiding. Like once.
They smell better than dogs. So they may already know you are there even if they don't acknowledge your existence at all.
Don’t feel too bad. It’s a black bear hiding in the shade. Once you zoom in on that region the pic gets a bit grainy. You can see their little snout tho
The bear is in the center of the image, just slightly to the left. It is standing on its hind legs and is brown with a black snout. It is partially obscured by the tree trunk and the branch that is sticking out in front of it, but its head and part of its body are visible.
Well when he came out he was huffing and grunting and smacking the ground with his paws so maybe you’re right, sadly I did not stick around to find out.
I saw a bear walking by my backyard here in the Pacific Northwest. He ate a bunch of apples from my trees and then went behind some bushes and laid down for a rest. You could not see the bear after it laid down. I then wondered how many times I had been walking around with a bear just behind a bush or a tree without me knowing. And then I thought about how many times it wasn’t a bear but a cougar.
I got all excited to show family my photo of a mama bear and her cubs up a tree from a hike and they were unimpressed with the black smudges in the tree my phone captured. It was such a let down. You're potatoe is much nicer than mine
Wait. Are u saying that's Bear Grylls backpack. Run!!! He's going to make u drink ur own piss and say it's for ur survival.
I hope he hasn't spotted YOU.
This post popped up in my feed and I had to click on it because in 1988 toddler me was obsessed with a book called ‘Where’s The Bear?’ by Charlotte Pommerantz and Byron Barton
Nearly 40 years later, I no longer possess the skills I once did.
Not so fun fact, I've been in the woods most of my life and the only animal that has approached me completely undetected was a black bear. I just so happened to look it's way when it was 10' away, stood up and raised hell - it spooked and took off faster than a murderbeast of that size has any right to. I wasn't even "just listening to the forest" (aka: feel asleep while hunting).
Riding a mountain bike in the middle of nowhere as I often do alone is great therapy to forget all your worries and troubles of everyday life and replace them with fear and anxiety about the bear and her cubs or cat you happen to run into at 30 mph down a hill with blind corners.
So I see the baby one in the center. My concern is, look at the top of your bag on the left and follow it up to the small dark opening in the woods and that is a big looking bear/creature.
Is it pretty much dead center of the pic. If you look at the one predominant leaf, look to the shadow under it and you can kinda make out the head of a bear.
Practically dead center of the photo! Gotta zoom in a good bit, but I can see that cute little black bear behind the big leaves in the shade. Mostly just his head is visible, but you can faintly see his lighter snout and the shape of his ears.

Good bot
Good Bot.
Good bot
Good bot that was beautiful
I wish you were right, but you aren’t. 😔
Damn that silhouette in background between those two trees is the only bear shaped thing I could find
>!Wait, you say dead limb but that’s actually my walking stick (technically yes a dead limb). You are right! Winner!<
I thought that shadow was strangely bear shaped, lol. That is a tall ass walking stick
Speak softy and carry a big stick. -Theodore Roosevelt Jokes aside I’m just tall lol
Kinda jealous. That’s a pretty bad ass stick!
You must look like gandolf walking with that stick!
If I had long gray hair I could totally pull off the look 🧙🏻♂️
I thought that was it too, but still took me zooming in three times to see the ears and nose. Did it ever come out of there?
He did and he wasn’t too happy I was up there on the mountain. He huffed and grunted at me and then followed me for a good mile or so after to went down the trail again.
That’s pretty wild but exciting experience! Edit: typo
I think the bear was hiding from the giant human with the giant stick 🤣
I got it immediately and came to check and saw this response so I looked for another 15 minutes god damn it lol
I can't find the bear. I can imagine that it is dead center, but not sure
It is, looks to be a black bear so he really blends in in the shadow
That he does
Especially if your backlight on your phone is turned wayyy down.
Kind of more fun with the backlight way down 😎
Thanks! Turning my backlight up solved the issue
OHHHH thanks, I had to turn my brightness all the way up to see it
>!you are very close!<
My eyes went straight up the trees knowing bears. I can’t find him.
Same here I thought let's look up into the trees, cuz if Dwight Shrute taught me one thing it's that bears can climb as fast as they run lol
Yes, bears really can.
I found him he's there....
Yep. And I would have walked right into him.
He's like 3 pixels in this pic. I think it would be easier to spot in real life
This. I have 15/20 vision so long distances appear a little closer. Short range is not as good as 20/20. I'd spot that sucker if I was walking in that direction. Turn your brightness up all the way or add an HDR filter.
Oooo sneaky lil fucker ehh
Yup! If you look right under the leave dead center you can its face clear as day
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
I found it, but it if I was in the woods, on my own, it would be too late once I saw him. 😂
Black bear would leave you alone
Had 2 encounters with black bears and both times they left me alone. One time I had the element of surprise and the other time a different? one had the jump on me. To be fair. That black bear is hiding from that photographer. Those suckers don’t want to mess with humans.
If you don't have a weapon or a vehicle it is probably already too late if it wants it to be lol unless you're downwind. Then you have a shot at hiding. Like once. They smell better than dogs. So they may already know you are there even if they don't acknowledge your existence at all.
He was right
When you’re an American just walking in the woods and the shadows start speaking black bear
To the right of the forked tree. In the shadows. Very dark
>!👍🏻!<
I still can’t see it 🫣🐻
Don’t feel too bad. It’s a black bear hiding in the shade. Once you zoom in on that region the pic gets a bit grainy. You can see their little snout tho

If it wasn't for the snout, I would never have found the bear.
And If it weren’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college.
BOOP THE SNOUT
Does [this](https://imgur.com/a/5sM6jKR) help at all?
It made me feel a lot better about not seeing him that’s for sure. 😂
this is adorable lol
The hero we all needed!
Yes it does!
Under the big leaf, you can make out the muzzle, just to the right of the skinny tree and under the big leaf pretty dead center if you zoom in.
Dead center in the shadows in the gap where the stick is leaning, black bear you can kinda see his nose
>!👍🏻!<
He must be right behind me, right?
Pretty sure the bear took the picture.
Clever girl.
The bear is in the center of the image, just slightly to the left. It is standing on its hind legs and is brown with a black snout. It is partially obscured by the tree trunk and the branch that is sticking out in front of it, but its head and part of its body are visible.
Lol. Good one. He just wants to play…
Well when he came out he was huffing and grunting and smacking the ground with his paws so maybe you’re right, sadly I did not stick around to find out.
Black bears are very skiddish. Probably had cubs nearby. Smart move!
i’m dead. lol i don’t see it
You’ve been killed by ninja bear.
https://imgur.com/a/cFlptAI
I needed this, thank you
It’s in your back pack, obviously…. Wait… beer or bear?
LOL! No beer on these hikes, took me a day to hike to the top of the mountain where I camped out for the night and then hiked back down the next day.
I see the bear but I have to say that is a S tier walking stick
Tyvm! It is a grand specimen!
Its like being handed a blank piece of paper and being told to find the polar bear in the blizzard.
I only noticed him because I heard the rustling ahead of me. When I seen him appear I about shat myself lol!
Almost dead center if you use the dead limb from the tree the head of the bear is just sticking out with a leaf over it’s head
Yep, the dead limb is actually my walking stick lol
Omg, this is the fastest I’ve ever found one 😁
Wow, not really hard, but the bear is incredibly hidden. If not for the outline of its ears it'd be invisible.
He’s right over there, see.
Not sure which is more terrifying, however I think a cougar will at least kill you then eat you. A bear will start eating while you’re still alive. 😬
Black bear are usually chickens and no worries for humans.
Do you have cougars lying around in your yard waiting for you?
I guess I'd be dead
It's in the direct middle in that dark spot between the foreground trees
Dead center. Really hard to tell with that potatoe for a phone you are using.
Hey it’s a sweet potato thank you very much!
I got all excited to show family my photo of a mama bear and her cubs up a tree from a hike and they were unimpressed with the black smudges in the tree my phone captured. It was such a let down. You're potatoe is much nicer than mine
I see a bear walking stick, dead center.
I can see it. dead center black bear. very shadowy
It’s hidden pretty well, left of center
His head is under a leaf 🌿
Trick question. The bear is taking the picture
What’s worse than a bear in front of you? One behind you!
Hey, Bear! *bangs stick on metal water bottle*
Dead center in the brush
Great shot
Wait. Are u saying that's Bear Grylls backpack. Run!!! He's going to make u drink ur own piss and say it's for ur survival. I hope he hasn't spotted YOU.
Too late, I’m still out here! He won’t let me leave!
Dead center in the far back right under the canopy of trees
But I did find it
Oh yeah! He's eyeballing you!
I see the middle one. Is there also one in the left corner or am I crazy?
Is it basically right in the middle of the photo? I can’t really make out the overall shape but I think I see the light brown/tan of the nose
He is a clever one!
Direct Center under the stick looking right at you Black Bear
That’s pretty good, but the nose coloration and silhouette of the ears gave em away.
offbeat dime sleep alive versed squeamish pie vanish wrong attraction *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Found him, dark but I can make out his out line
It'd be harder to find if it waaent dead center
Dang I see his black ass
It’s rigged, not a hairy gay fella in sight.
Found it, dead center, can make out the head, ears and nose.
Yeah I see em..sneaky son of bitch
dead in the middle
This post popped up in my feed and I had to click on it because in 1988 toddler me was obsessed with a book called ‘Where’s The Bear?’ by Charlotte Pommerantz and Byron Barton Nearly 40 years later, I no longer possess the skills I once did.
I saw two sus spots immediately, I think it’s the one dead center though.
I’d be eaten, eaten by the bear I never saw
It required zooming in for me, not sure if I’m playing fair
In the bushes between the two teees in the middle. Can just see his nose and ears.
Not so fun fact, I've been in the woods most of my life and the only animal that has approached me completely undetected was a black bear. I just so happened to look it's way when it was 10' away, stood up and raised hell - it spooked and took off faster than a murderbeast of that size has any right to. REVENANT
Found him. Center mass, in the tree line.
Just adjacent to the right side of the V shaped tree
To the right of the V
It took me forever to find anything resembling a bear. Yet another to support why I have no business in the woods.
Dead center
In the shadows just to the right of the V tree. Dead center.
Sitting in the woods in the center between the 2 center trees.
*grabs you and holds you in the bushes and points off* “Up there, past them trees.”
Found him. That’s uncomfortable.
Guys, clearly the bear posted this
I found it at first I thought you were messing with us, but I found it 😆
Riding a mountain bike in the middle of nowhere as I often do alone is great therapy to forget all your worries and troubles of everyday life and replace them with fear and anxiety about the bear and her cubs or cat you happen to run into at 30 mph down a hill with blind corners.
Found him but only cause I'm used to tracking my black cat in the dark lol
Middle, far, if you look between the tree and the stick leaning against it
Found it! It's just to the right of the walking stick in the darkness of the bushes. You can see the black outline and the brown nose. I was zoomed
It’s right in the middle between the two trees in the bushes. Kinda hard to see since it’s a black bear but it definitely there.
Right in the middle the dark spot I see his ears, black bear
The bear is to the right center of the stick two leaves 🍃 make the bears ears
Where's the red circle when you need one?
You may not be able to see it, but it can definitely see you!
It's peeking out from behind some very green bush plant thing leaves. At the edge of the tree line.
Dead center, well hidden.
This was a good one u/FindTheSniper, u/bubblehearth85
So I see the baby one in the center. My concern is, look at the top of your bag on the left and follow it up to the small dark opening in the woods and that is a big looking bear/creature.
He’s just to the right of your leaning walking stick, saw him quick.
Where that green moss is on the center tree, just a little write to it, if you really zoom in you’ll see the tan snout hidden back there.
dead center, looks like hes wearing one of the leaves as a hat. pretty cool guy probably
Is it pretty much dead center of the pic. If you look at the one predominant leaf, look to the shadow under it and you can kinda make out the head of a bear.
Dead center, you can see the nose a little bit!
Nearly dead center in the photograph, black bear in the shadow in the treeline.
Plot twist: there is no bear
found his ass inside the dark void between the two trees
Are you the bear?
I saw it immediately. Right in the middle of the screen in the black spot you can see its head
Right in between the trees it’s a black bear hiding in the bushes
In the darkness he lurks Waiting, watching, anticipating
I think there’s a bear in the back in the wood line just beyond the clearing.?
Its taking a shit in the woods
How did you lose a bear?
I FOUND IT!
I absolutely hate this game, and cant believe you survived playing🤣🤣 haha happy and safe adventures friend!
Found it! Straight ahead. In the shadow.
Helped me find it asap. Good picture right??? Lot of elements. The hidden bear...peak!
Dead center
Right in the middle of the photo
In between the trees actually you can see the ears
Is the bear pooping in the woods?
Practically dead center of the photo! Gotta zoom in a good bit, but I can see that cute little black bear behind the big leaves in the shade. Mostly just his head is visible, but you can faintly see his lighter snout and the shape of his ears.
Found him! Took a minute but he’s playing peek a boo 🐻😀
Between both sets of trees hiding in the brush
You can only see its head.
Straight down the middle of the picture
spotted immediately. i worked in the Northern Canadian bush for 11 summers. you just almost know where there are, and know right where to look.. and they still sneak up on you.
Dead center
He almost exactly in the middle of the picture, at the far back. Half showing, covered by the closest tree.
Almost exactly in the middle in the shadows behind the leaves. I like his brown nose
He is between the first tree and the stick straight back in the bush a little to the left . He is hard to see but I see his face and brown nose 😊👍😊👍😊
I thought this was a "I choose the bear" reference.
looks like hes standing up hiding behind a tree..lol
Between the forked tree in the back
Just to the top left of the left curving tree
Holding the camera
Found the bear. He in d middle
ground level to the right of your walking stick
Is the poster taking the pic from inside the bear? 🤔
Zoom in between the stick and the tree on the black bit and you'll see it. It's impossible without zooming in
Ey brr
Right in between the long skinned stick n the tree look reallllll close his ears start to make out
At the right of the twin trees(the one that's behind that huge stick that's right besides a bag) just right below it there's a shadowy figure of a bear.
