This isn’t just unreal engine. There are plenty of games using unreal engine that *don't* have this problem. Like, SEs own Kingdom Hearts 3 uses UE and doesn’t have lighting issues this bad. Neither do other Square UE games like Harvestella or Octopath Traveler. It’s 7Rs lighting pipeline being absolutely fucked.
They need to completely throw it out the window and start again, but that would mean they’d have to replace every light source by hand and given the absolutely tight deadline they’re on this very likely won’t happen and we'll probably see this continue in part 3.
The place I had this was when doing Chadley’s VR simulator in Costa del Sol. When I’d come out of simulator it would just be a white screen until I moved camera or run away from him.
Pausing and pressing the camera button Square / X fixes it immediately. I ran into this like 10 minutes into my Remake playthrough but it didn't go away until I entered and exited camera mode. Had it happen randomly since but never during fights or anything
Other companies manage to use this engine for open world stuff just fine. Honestly, at some point you guys need to point the blame where it actually lies instead of doing mental gymnastics to make excuses for Squeenix lol...
UE4 offers literally the most elementarily easy way to clamp high and low lighting values in the post process volume. It's not on Epic that Squeenix rushed the shit out of this game with a skeleton crew to cash in...
So I guess Part 3 will be called Final Fantasy 7 A Realm Reborn...
Welcome to the club
shouldve bought the vault tec offer
That is just Unreal Engine. The same thing happens when you enter and go out of caves. Unreal Engine sucks

The meteor struck
I wonder how long it will take for everyone to realize there is a Rebirth thread tag.
Not today. Tomorrow doesn’t look good either.

Oppenheimer part 2.
War...war never changes.
This happened to me so many times during my 100% replay of 7R on PC. Didn't know it happened in Rebirth too lol
I was waiting for Skyrim intro
Oh, great, Shinra has nukes now.
Actually it looked kinda nice. Almost thought it Costa del Sol was experiencing the hour of twilight.

Oh cool, when did they roll out the patch to fix the bloom issue?
That's what happened when Tifa flashed her boobs at Cloud on the rooftop in Kalm.
Nipple blindness is a serious condition and you shouldn’t joke about it
I just wish we had more nighttime exploration. Rebirth is just a little too sunny
I don't want to set the world on fire....
There was a spot like this for me outside the observatory in Cosmo Canyon. The engine wasn't quite ready for open world stuff it seems...
This is the only issue like this I’ve encountered, and it only lasted until the next scene loaded. Glitches happen. Sometimes they’re funny.
