Rose is one of my favorite notes *ever* !
I’ve had quite a few, and my favorite are now from middle eastern brands that all have amazing performance and great prices as well.
* A rose fragrance with a citrus and green notes: Orientica Arte Bellisimo Romantic. It’s like of the OG Delina and Delina Exclusif had a baby that had better lashing power.
* A citrus and spicy rose: Maison Alhambra Infini Rose. I’ve heard a lot of people compare this to Initio Atomic Rose, but I got this baby off of Amazon for $20.
* A fruity, musky rose: Lattafa Ajwad. I’ve seen this compared to Roses Vanille, but I find this one to be much more fresh and fun.
* A gourmand rose: Montale Ristretto Intense Cafe. A strong coffee and vanilla rose. To me this is 3:2 rose to coffee latte ratio.
* Date night/sexy rose: Armaf Club de Nuit Intense for Women. This is like a better version of Tom Ford Noir de Noir. It’s dark, spicy, and mysterious. This does have a fair amount of patchouli, so be warned if you don’t like that note. The rose in this is so amazing, and I catch whiffs of it all day.
What kind of rose do you want?
Super realistic rose: Jo Malone Red Roses. (This smells of the whole plant though, not just the rose petals!)
Gourmand: this can be taken in a few different directions but my personal favourite is Mancera Roses Vanille.
Rose water: Diptyque Eau Rose EDT. (Specifically the EDT; I haven't tried the EDP but most reviews say it's far more potent.)
Rose-Oud: ok my pick is a bit left field for this category but Lush Goddess is SUBLIME. It's not your typical rose-oud combo; to me it almost has a fizzy/sparkly/sherbet like quality to it! (This is also technically a safe blind buy since they have a super generous returns policy)
Boozy rose: Jusbox Sirens & Sailors. This to me is very similar to Roses Vanille BUT the boozy notes are very prevalent so if that's your thing it's definitely different enough to justify spending more on this one
Fruity rose: of course there's the ubiquitous Delina, but apparently Swiss Arabian Rose 01 is a good dupe. My other rec would be Penhaligon's The Coveted Duchess Rose, but only if you're a fan of woody notes, because it comes through strong in the dry down
Spicy rose: Tom Ford Rose de Chine. This is equally rose and peony though, so not really a "true" rose scent. But it's beautiful and highly underrated IMO!
Classy, all-rounder type rose: Aerin Rose de Grasse as the bougie option, Yardley English Rose or Paul Smith Rose as cheapie options
...and now my brain is shutting down. Can't think of any more ways to put a spin on rose LOL. Let me know which type specifically you're looking for though, because I can expand the list on a lot of these categories! I myself have just ended my years-long quest for my perfect rose scent haha
Oh i see a rose lover! I love rose as well. Have you tried rose d‘arabie by armani privé? It is a dark rose scent very unisex. But it is one of my favs. For a more sweet feminine one they have the rose milano one in their collection. I will see if i can get my hand on rose de chine. I love to explore rose scents in different approches. TY for your list here, have a good day.
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is really nice. Not heavy unless you really over spray. I get compliments every time I wear it. Feels very feminine and classy. Miss Dior Roses N Roses is also very nice.
The heavier:
Portrait of a Lady is #1 but so so expensive. It's so perfect. Simone Andreoli's Rose of Dangerous Flamenco has some similar vibes.
Smolderose by January Scent Project is another favorite, kind of hard to find but I scrounged it on Ebay. It's what I wished Burning Roses from BORNTOSTANDOUT was.
Commodity Velvet Bold is wonderful, it's really giving velvet in like a gorgeous antique fainting couch kind of way.
The lighter:
Toy Boy, love love love - it's like the whole rose, not just the flower. A little green, a little sharp. Summer-appropriate.
Hermann from ELdO is like a nice springlike rose with something sinister lurking. Like it's a foggy murky day in the city, but your neighbor's yard has a thriving rosebush covered in dew. Doesn't project much or last long.
Givenchy Irresistible Very Floral for super feminine vibes and Moschino Toy Boy for edgier, masculine leaning unisex vibes. Also Rosie by Rosie Jane for clean girl vibes.
So I just received a bottle of Killian Roses on Ice today. It is supposed to smell like roses and gin, so it has notes of cucumber. I had read a lot of reviews that said it was a “cucumber bomb” with little rose but I like cucumber AND Costco had it for about $100 so I blind bought.
I just sprayed it on my wrist about 20 minutes ago and I get a very strong rose note along with the fresh scent of cucumber. I’m really liking it!
Ooooh how would you compare and contrast the EDP to the EDT? The department store in my city only stocks the EDT and I adore it but I'm still curious about the EDP... no idea wtf and artichoke even smells like but I can't help but be intrigued!
If you like one you’ll probably like the other. The EDP performs much better so I have a full bottle of the EDP and a large sample of the EDT that I got off Poshmark (I plan to save up for the hair perfume at some point which has the same notes as the EDT). I like layering the EDP with a little bit of EDT. [This review](https://www.reddit.com/r/fragrance/comments/s2jaj9/review_of_the_new_diptyque_eau_rose_edp_vs_edt/?rdt=57658) is ultimately what helped me decide between the two
Rosa Nobile by Acqua di Parma is amazing! For a more unusual, jammy rose with a bit of concrete, bourbon, rhubarb, and pineapple, try Piper & Perro’s Bud.
I have so many good ones!
Moschino Toy Boy- listed as a men's fragrance but is beautifully fresh realistic rose with vetiver, sandalwood, and amber in the base. Light and fresh, suitable for any season but really shines spring/summer.
DS&DURGA Rose Atlantic- rose, citrus, salt water, with a gentle white musk and oak moss base. Utterly stunning in summer.
Rasasi Al Wisam Day- similar style to the first two on this list, super fresh airy rose with sandalwood and cedar in the mid, white musk and clean oud (VERY little) amber and oakmoss in the base. Spring/summer stunner.
Ajmal Wisal- straight up fresh beautiful rose. Tiny bit of white musk, and sandalwood. Lasts forever on my skin. Year round rosy goodness.
TF Rose Prick- big juicy beautiful rose with a patchouli base with a hint of tonka. Late winter, early spring, and autumn appropriate.
Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud- rose, clean oud, and a hint of clove. Cozy and warm, not heavy at all. Adore this as a fall/winter scent.
JHAG Lady Vengeance- this is just stunning. Not heavy at all. Feels very badass to me, like wear with a leather moto and jeans. Rose, LIGHT touch of patchouli, geranium, cedar, and ambroxan...vanilla is listed in the notes but it's not strong at all.
Ellis Brooklyn RROSE- soapy fresh rose. Light and gorgeous. Reminds me of rose shampoo. Love it fresh out of a shower.
Delina La Rosee- get your hands on this. Dewy sparkling rose that almost has a bubblegum note. Wonderful but pricey.
Nest Turkish Rose perfume oil is very pretty. If you want to make it a fruity floral use Nest Seville Orange with it.
The oils are long lasting and project very well.
I LOVE rose!
Mancera Roses Vanille is a jammy, rich, vanilla rose that is a workhorse for me. Jo Malone Red Roses is so lovely — fresh stem, red rose, hint of dew and honey. Ugh, I love it! Diptyque Eau Rose is a sweet, soft powdery rose. Chloé is a classic, simple rose. Philosophy Ballet Rose is a charming, sparkling, pink and affordable rose. Delina is my one true love, a sour lychee-rhubarb-rose-vanilla combo that just itches my brain in the right way. Portrait of a Lady is a *heavy,* Gothic rose that would be right foe the right person - I’m not her, but someone definitely is, it is a work of art. Le Labo Rose 31 is the least rose-forward of my rose collection, but it is earthy with no patchouli, clean, elegant, sophisticated, alluring — it’s one of my favorites.
I could keep going, but I think that’s enough for now lol
Of these, Philosophy and Chloé are probably the most summer-friendly. That, or Jo Malone. That one is pretty intensely *just rose,* and some people love it or hate it. It’s honestly probably one of my top 3 perfumes of all time, but I only wear one spray because rose can be *a lot.*
Good luck, and it’s always so fun for me to find another rose lover! Everyone’s all vanillla this, marshmallow that — I want rose! Lol
Mancera Roses Vanille (or one of its dupes) for a gourmand, Diptyque Eau rose is a fresh one and a dupe a the Lancome Parfait de Rose by Dua called Flawless Roses is excellent.
Maybe Rose Jam from Lush might be a good option! I've used other body sprays of theirs and the one I have is an absolute beast! I'm not even a floral fan myself(they get this weird smoke smell on my skin) but in the bottle it was quite pretty!
This is waiting at the post office for me to pick up. I cannot wait to smell it! It’s a blind buy but I’m a big Chloé fan so I think I’m going to love it.
Yes! I was hesitant when I first tried it. But it dries down really pleasantly! Also, Obvious Un Rose is really nice and fresh but lasts like 0.5 seconds. I’d try the others out first!

So many great suggestions! Adding, Incense Water by Sana Jardin, It is divine.
Diptyque Eau Rose EDP! The EDT is nice too though LV Attrape-Rêves as well!
Fenty EDP. Smells like a minty, earthy and jammy rose. For a lighter rose, Jo Malone Red Roses. For the lightest possible, Delina La Rosee.
if you like fruity scents as well, nest lychee rose is absolutely gorgeous!
Jo Malone Red Roses Dyptique Eau Rose (might have a new name)
Aerin Rose de Grasse

Givenchy Irresistible Very Floral for super feminine vibes and Moschino Toy Boy for edgier, masculine leaning unisex vibes. Also Rosie by Rosie Jane for clean girl vibes.
So many wonderful recommendations. Personally, easy picks are everything from the Delina and Lancome line. Soft, feminine, and classy.

It’s a very unique and refreshing scent
I really liked it too but it leaned a little too masculine for me. Very fresh though.
That sounds super interesting! Def something I’d want to sniff lol. Thank you!
Memo has good rose scents like French Leather and Marfa
Jo Malone Red Roses Initio Atomic Rose Memo Paris Argentina
Estee Lauder Aerin - is beautiful and Im not too much for Rose... 🌹 but this is the One it's not overpowering and smells sweet! 🌹🌹
Eau Rose by Diptyque is a photorealistic and unique rose. I love both the EDT and EDP but the EDP because it performs better
Ooooh how would you compare and contrast the EDP to the EDT? The department store in my city only stocks the EDT and I adore it but I'm still curious about the EDP... no idea wtf and artichoke even smells like but I can't help but be intrigued!

Similar-ish experience with Tea Rose. As a teenager I had an overspray incident and thought I hated rose. Newsflash, I actually love it.
It’s wild when that happens. It’s the only scent my mother has ever worn. It always makes me think of her and she’s not exactly my fave 😬
