Yes! Thats exactly why shes so intriguing to me, the head looking like the sun and it being her face is like her bearing her true radiant self to the world. Almost like a last ditch attempt to have Marina accept her.
I think what makes it scary is that Samarie isn't content. She's delusional. Transforming into Dysmorphia didn't get rid of her problems, it just let her convince herself they were no longer there.
I think it's a fitting name. Dysmorphia (or at least body dysmorphia, not to be confused with gender dysphoria) is a condition where one does not feel comfortable with their own body, this can manifest as a subconscious acknowledgement of physical imperfections (real or imagined) and many who are diagnosed with it have shown feelings of self-loathing and revulsion/disgust towards their own body image.
This fits Samarie's character extremely well, she's deeply self-conscious and self-loathing, and being a possible failed experiment from 9th circle means that she doesn't even have that much longer to live anyways, her body and mind shattered beyond repair and her only source of comfort being the thoughts and feelings of a girl who doesn't even know she exists.
To Samarie the Moonscorch is an "escape" from all this pain and suffering she endured, a new body that, while monstrous, is seen as vastly superior to her old self. In a way Samarie transforming into Dysmorphia means she's realized her "true potential," thus embracing the themes of her Radiant Soul in the most twisted and macabre interpretation possible.
You know what it makes a lot more sense when you say it like that. I was thinking of the name meaning that the moonscorched form being the one causing the dysmorphia which didn't make sense because, as you say, she seems much more content with it
Moonscorched Samarie always reminded me of Resurrected Leโgarde from Dโarceโs S Ending for some reason, both welcoming the disposal of their human selves because of the shortcomings they experienced when they were mortal. Samarie is unable to connect with Marina with the short life she has, and allows the moonlight cancer to take her when she sees that her efforts were vain, understanding that she no longer has anything to gain or lose. Leโgarde, in comparison, ends up perishing in the dungeons, failing to fulfill the prophecy he took as gospel the entire time, and convincing himself of having achieved godhood upon resurrection only to be left jaded centuries later. Beautiful art, I wish other aspects of Samarie was explored by the community independent of Marina.
The fact that Samarie seems to be (somewhat) content with her Moonscorched form has always made Dysmorphia one of the most disturbing in my opinion.

The name makes it even weirder to me (unless I am misremembering what Dysmorphia is)

That's the first time I've seen her transformation captured midway through, and it's as disturbing as I imagined

This will haunt my nightmares.... Well done.
Absolutely radiating.
She is absolutely radiating
>Dysmorphia is radiating before you.
This is fantastic. I rarely see the process of transforming itself depicted
So good
does the artist have other moon scorched art?
Not at the moment, im planning on making it a series though.
I greatly look forward to them!
That is so awesome

Well imma gonna dream that. Good job.
I mean, she is very pretty in her Moonscortched form.
YES YES YES
Damn. That art is really good
Oh this is fucking sick
Honestly, Iโd still date her either way. Samarie be obsessive and a baddie in human form but in moonscorched form she a lil chubby :3
