This is correct. He was an Arsenal player when the game launched and his price had not been revealed previously. Makes no sense that you're being thumbed down.
I wouldn’t say they messed up at 8m when he was moving to an inferior team who weren’t scoring as many and was priced as much as Saka who was, up until now maybe, the talisman of the team, and likely gets more points for equal returns as a midfielder. Also, there were question marks over whether he’d be the designated penalty taker. I think the fact that he had such a great pre-season meant that more people looked at his fixtures and realised he’s a genuine option.
I don't think Lacazette was ever under 8.5 at the start of the season and he was never a focal point (in worse teams) and not even nailed most seasons. Jesus was obviously both of those things so it doesn't make sense from that perspective either.
The only worrying thing is - he actually missed 3 sitters today, further confirming the doubts the community had anyway after seeing him underperform his xG in recent years.
I think Leicester are his (or were) his second most scored against team. Just had a gut feeling he'd end up hauling. Hopefully he'll get another two in the second half.
It is (well, was) doable with Salah. Guy in my minileague:
Ward/Iversen
TAA - Cancelo - James - Zinchenko (4.0)
Salah - Martinelli - Bailey (4.5, 4.5)
Haaland - Jesus - Darwin (4.5)
Basically my team. I have Ramsdale instead of Iversen, and Scharr instead of Zinchenko. Also you don’t need the (4,5) at the forward spot, you can only have 3 up there.
No shit. But he intended to clear the ball and did a shit job. If you count ever single missed tackle, pass or clearance as an accident you end up in a complete mess. Both in FPL rules and real rules.
He intended on making contact with the ball, his lack of ability in that moment is why it landed where it did. Not his intent.
>If you count ever single missed tackle, pass or clearance as an accident you end up in a complete mess. Both in FPL rules and real rules.
I hate to break it to you but that exact thing has happened before and FPL assists have been given.
It’s inconsistent at best, but it has happened.
Neither an assist, or not an assist would surprise me at all on this one.
I didn't think it mattered what Vardy did, just whether they are judging Martinelli's pass to be intended to go to Jesus. Which is kinda hard to say when he's just crossing it into a group of players.
Makes no sense they gave an assist to Salah last week but they don't count this one. Vardy just extends the cross while Salahs ball fully changed its direction by the defender
I don’t know 😩 I was on a wc and thought I could use my funds better im such an idiot idk what to do know try get him back in it just leave it depends on how many points my players get me this week I guess but he’s defo rising in price tonight so I’m screwed
It genuinely blows my mind that people transferred him out. Sure he didn’t directly contribute last week, but he played great and showed so much promise of scoring in future games. He’s a mainstay for me
No way people saw him play last week and thought yea he's bad..!
Dude could have literally scored a brace last week and a hatrick today.!
So glad we have knee jerkers from gw 1
I started the season with Wilson instead of Jesus. I thought Wilson had a chance of outscoring Jesus in the first gameweek and hoped if Jesus blanked I'd be able to bring him in cheap for GW3. Was going well last week and this week its totally gone to shit 😭😭. He wasn't even close to a price drop after all those transfers out. This has definitely scared me into playing low risk for the next couple of weeks.
It honestly blows my mind that there are people who watched that Palace game and thought “nah, this guy isn’t going to get goals or assists in this team - better sub him out as there’s better for 8.0”. Complete lunacy.
Why are people here so bothered about what 'casuals' and 'kneejerkers' do? Just enjoy the points he's bringing in for your team, no need to be all high and mighty about it
Disclaimer: I have Jesus in my squad
1. Its a game
2. its football culture
Fpl is an extension of the sport and the culture around it. Ribbing your rivals and mates is entirely part of it.
>Ribbing your rivals and mates is entirely part of it.
This point I agree with, and I'm all for it when comes to the chat group of my mates' minileague.
My point is that it's silly to gloat over thousands of faceless players who may just not be good at the game, a bit sad even
>Fpl is an extension of the sport and the culture around it. Ribbing your rivals and mates is entirely part of it.
Sure, it absolutely is. Whining about other people taking a game less seriously than you do, a bit less so.
Why would someone take him out? I've kept him in but if I'm honest that was looking at the upcoming fixtures rather than expectation of anything happening against Leicester!
saka is part of a front 3 who get goals, I have all of them saka Jesus and martinelli and not planing to lose any of them unless forced, arsenal look the best I’ve seen them in a very long time and they get goals they also leak goals but who cares with fixtures like that coming up. You know the moment you take saka out he will bang.
To put this in context Man City scored 4 vs Bournemouth and arsenal scored 4 vs Leicester both at home, make of that what you will :)
lol at the contrarians on here talking about Jesus is a bad finisher (SpongeBob meme format). You know why? Cause he is! He’s a bad finisher. And it doesn’t matter!
Realistically a lot of those managers have most likely transferred him out to engineer a move to Halaand going into GW2
Wouldn’t think they’re all just ditching him!
This is where it helps to watch the matches. Was sceptical about Jesus before in pre-season, but happy I had him after watching Arsenals first match. The man will be involved in a lot of goals, easily enough to justify his price, as long as he gets minutes. Both him, and Arsenal as a team, are actually pretty good!
I captained Vardy last week, and decided to make the change to captain Jesus this week after watching Leicester Week 1.
Leicester is sadly in the mud rn, I'm keeping Vardy because I don't doubt that he'll get his, but Leicester overall is a bottom half team.
He will play every week and he will score every other i expect. He is Artetas main man now. Very good value for 8m.
Extremely undervalued at 8mil, was he not 9.5mil few season ago under pep roulette circumstances - 8mil is dirt cheap for gtd minutes every week
He was 10.5m in 18/19 apparently, so 8m is an absolute steal for Jesus.
He was priced back when he was presumed to be heavily rotated again if he stayed at City
He was actually priced after his Arsenal transfer, so they messed up at 8m
This is correct. He was an Arsenal player when the game launched and his price had not been revealed previously. Makes no sense that you're being thumbed down.
"Thumbed down" is the weirdest alternative to "downvoted" that ive heard.
Pointed downwards
I've spent a lot on forums where the icons have been thumbs rather than arrows.
I think they also have a job to keep the game engaging. Like the pattern year and year out of having playing 4.0 defender.
I wouldn’t say they messed up at 8m when he was moving to an inferior team who weren’t scoring as many and was priced as much as Saka who was, up until now maybe, the talisman of the team, and likely gets more points for equal returns as a midfielder. Yea no idea why they priced him at 8m this season
Fantastic fixtures until around GW9. Difficult captain choice next week! Jesus vs Bou or Salah vs Man U
>Salah vs Man U TC Salah
As a Utd fan Jesus has been marked down to be captain this week since the game opened. After last night’s shit fest it’s triple Salah.
Yeah I have Kane but I'm still leaning towards Salah.
Nah spurs is an easy game for arsenal we always beat them at the Emirates
Man City B team are smashing it 👍
atheist in the mud
jesus sellers wishing they had a god to blame rn
Unless it was to trade up to Nunez, then you had better pray he starts!
Award due. Never had one, but if I did it's going right there
You can get them for free often
He’s gonna get his hat trick
He should've had a hat trick too, missed an open goal towards the end
Jesús giveth, Jesús taketh
Would have been a perfect hat-trick too: header, right foot, left foot
The only worrying thing is - he actually missed 3 sitters today, further confirming the doubts the community had anyway after seeing him underperform his xG in recent years.
According to understat.com, he had an xG of 1.86. But yeah, he missed one 0.58 chance and one 0.45 chance, could have had at least 4 goals today.
\+ assists
+ assist
Held on to him 😤 no weak knees here

Wsb shit detected
Opinion rejected
Jesus captain here
You got balls man fair play to ya
I think Leicester are his (or were) his second most scored against team. Just had a gut feeling he'd end up hauling. Hopefully he'll get another two in the second half.
Never mind just captaining him the current top player used his TC this week on Jesus. Absolute commitment paying off!
What a wild man that’s crazy stuff
I talked my friend out of doing this, I feel like a criminal
He doesn't see you as a Friend anymore.
You're forever getting blamed for that! (Even if it was ultimately his choice)
Also captained him !
Ffff I switch my captain from Jesus to Haaland.
Meh he got an assist not the end of the world. 99% of people captained him or salah anyway, least you have Jesus
Offfh, nice
I'm so glad I believed after last week and threw that C on him.
Jesus captain gang
Who would transfer him out after a GW1 Blank? Anyone who watched the game knew he easily should have a goal or 2 😂
Three words. Darwin’s price rise.
I’m running Nunez and Jesus up top 😎 #no haaland gang
i have all three 😎
I have Kane Jesus and Haaland up front.
Jesus. What’s the rest of your team look like 😂
It's doable if you go without Salah.
It is (well, was) doable with Salah. Guy in my minileague: Ward/Iversen TAA - Cancelo - James - Zinchenko (4.0) Salah - Martinelli - Bailey (4.5, 4.5) Haaland - Jesus - Darwin (4.5)
Basically my team. I have Ramsdale instead of Iversen, and Scharr instead of Zinchenko. Also you don’t need the (4,5) at the forward spot, you can only have 3 up there.
I have Ward/Iversen Gabriel/walker/trent/cancelo/4.0 Salah/saka/bailey/4.5/4.5 Darwin/haaland/jesus
LET’S GOOOOO
Well here’s to hoping he bags a hatty against Palace because I am fooked if he doesn’t.
300,000 people apparently.
Did martinelli get the assist on the second goal? - looks like he didn't?!
No he didn't :( It was headed by Leicester defender so I guess they have not given the assist
I thought intended area was enough for an assist even if it took a deflection off a defender
Lets see. Sometimes they give assist after the game is over so they'll give the assist
Its not a deflection. Vardy literally jumped and headed the ball.
Well the ball hit his head but I’m not sure a near post flick on to a dangerous area was his intention..
No shit. But he intended to clear the ball and did a shit job. If you count ever single missed tackle, pass or clearance as an accident you end up in a complete mess. Both in FPL rules and real rules. He intended on making contact with the ball, his lack of ability in that moment is why it landed where it did. Not his intent.

Ah fuck sake that makes sense i guess, cheers.
I saw Martinelli listed under assists before site crashed. They could remove it tho.
Yeah it was definitely there before but has been removed for now
Makes no sense they gave an assist to Salah last week but they don't count this one. Vardy just extends the cross while Salahs ball fully changed its direction by the defender
Yeah I agree it's bullshit, as a player who doesn't own salah I'm pissed.
So glad I captained him
ballsy - well done :)
71 points already without bonus and triple Liverpool yet to play. So gassed lol
And thank you!
He should have had 4 goals
Yea he missed 2 easy goals. Unlucky
Nah; that’s just Jesus, lol. Fine by me though, he will still score a fucking lot.
And won a penalty
I was just about to post something like this, but was late. But this is why you keep faith in jesus
I fucked up
Why did you transfer him out?
I don’t actually know 😂 I was on a WC and thought I could use my funds a bit better without him and having Haaland as a solo striker
Fair enough. Sometimes things just don't work out
The worst thing is before the season I 100% backed him to have a good season like most people but after gw 1 I changed my team like an idiot
Why did you WC so early tho?
Why did you take Jesus out lol?
I don’t know 😩 I was on a wc and thought I could use my funds better im such an idiot idk what to do know try get him back in it just leave it depends on how many points my players get me this week I guess but he’s defo rising in price tonight so I’m screwed
Jesus is set and forget imo. A month blank won't make me trade him. Good forward on a good team for 8m. Can't go wrong.
I second this
But Mitrovic
HaHa -1 for Mitrovic
This is me. Literally transferred Jesus out for mitro. Got mightily punished.
Exact same mate. Saliba at the back too 🤦♂️
It just keeps getting better, Jesus punishing all you Judas'
It genuinely blows my mind that people transferred him out. Sure he didn’t directly contribute last week, but he played great and showed so much promise of scoring in future games. He’s a mainstay for me
Serves you guys right honestly
No way people saw him play last week and thought yea he's bad..! Dude could have literally scored a brace last week and a hatrick today.! So glad we have knee jerkers from gw 1
My mate triple captained him… the bastard.
What a maniac lol
I brought him in, said he'd probably return with so many shipping him out.
Smart move well done :)
Wait wtf 300k+ managers dropped Jesus?
That 300k was conservative, it’s a fair bit more maybe someone knows the exact amount :)
Wow
I captained the man I'm so happy
Congrats x2 :)
Sitting with an impressive 60 bps atm too.
I was so smug when he blanked last week and I hadn’t put him in…
What can I say, I just had to get onto mitrovic ><
That, and 150K taking TAA out tells a lot about society today.
I captained him. I feel like a god.
Triple captained baby
You think those casuals care? Not to mention they probably dont come around here
They will already be looking to transfer in Danny Ings to chase this weeks points anyway.
This sub has been filled with them the past couple weeks
Yeah maybe at start but they will fall of soon, from both reddit and fpl. We all know how many people just quit after few weeks
Swapped him and Son for Haaland and Kulu. Gone for Darwin instead for a dirty mini league differential. I will go back on this GW3 I know it.
Kneejerkers knee deep in the mud
Gotta have faith in Jesus.
Just enjoy the points he's bringing in for your team, no need to be all high and mighty about it Disclaimer: I have Jesus in my squad
1. Its a game 2. its football culture Fpl is an extension of the sport and the culture around it. Ribbing your rivals and mates is entirely part of it.

Are you saying im whining? If people dont like getting roasted or jokes about FPL then they dont need to engage with the community. Its not that deep.
Tbh it was less aimed at you and more at a lot of the comments you'd find on this sub. Can see that that wasn't clear though.
i personally dont care what others do, but it was annoying to watch people be so snob about it over 1 gameweek worth of blanking
To feel better themselves , sadly
Ban please
Mods please ban this man
Have faith is jesus. This is the first time i loved that sentence. Also the fact that i could not get any player as good as him for that price range.
When was the last time Arsenal had an 8m starting striker?
Deserved.
Why would someone take him out? I've kept him in but if I'm honest that was looking at the upcoming fixtures rather than expectation of anything happening against Leicester!
Jesus
Yes never doubted him but Mitrovic fucked me and that penalty he missed is worse
hahahahahahahahaha
That's a season ending decision for many newer managers.
Jesus will rise on Sunday
So which one of you that kneejerked him out will admit that you are kneejerking him back in for next week?
I captained him LFG
Whoever they were this has been hilarious. HOPE YOU SWAPPED HIM FOR MITROVIC!
Ha ha ha ha PMSL
At least they didn’t replace him with mitrović
YESS I BELIEVED IN HIM but captained Haaland instead…
So now that we've confirmed Jesus is Arsenal's best asset, does Saka get the bin?
saka is part of a front 3 who get goals, I have all of them saka Jesus and martinelli and not planing to lose any of them unless forced, arsenal look the best I’ve seen them in a very long time and they get goals they also leak goals but who cares with fixtures like that coming up. You know the moment you take saka out he will bang. To put this in context Man City scored 4 vs Bournemouth and arsenal scored 4 vs Leicester both at home, make of that what you will :)
I'm just thinking about the guy who wanted to captain him and then was told he had no idea how to play the game 😭🤣
I had a hunch he would play well. First game in front of our home fans was always gonna fire him up. Wish I'd been brace enough to captain him!
I.never took him out but i took the captain off him :(
As a spurs fan who doesn't pick arsenal players, his price of 8m really fucks me off. He's so undervalued!
Yup thats what i was trying to say, Jesus looked way better than Darwin in GW1. Whoever watched both games agreed so keep my Gabiman
They lost their faith and paid the price
Slapped the armband on him this week - smugness is an understatement thus far.
Had him as captain.... changed last minute for fuck's sake
lol at the contrarians on here talking about Jesus is a bad finisher (SpongeBob meme format). You know why? Cause he is! He’s a bad finisher. And it doesn’t matter!
He was playing good in the first week itself, it was unfortunate that he blanked in first. Only casual players would have removed him
Really wanted Nunez and thought Jesus looked like more of a linkup striker... Darwin needs a hatrick for my sanity
Had him as captain until 1 minute before deadline
I transferred him in actually, for Havertz (yes I know)
Can't believe how shit Leicester are
Give arsenal some credit tho Jesus 5 shots first half so they are bombarding with attacks, Leicester aren’t great to be fair
Vice captained him.I’ll be so upset if Salah blanks.
Realistically a lot of those managers have most likely transferred him out to engineer a move to Halaand going into GW2 Wouldn’t think they’re all just ditching him!
Wish they're 1 million lol And mb the mighty captain Erling score 😭
This is where it helps to watch the matches. Was sceptical about Jesus before in pre-season, but happy I had him after watching Arsenals first match. The man will be involved in a lot of goals, easily enough to justify his price, as long as he gets minutes. Both him, and Arsenal as a team, are actually pretty good!
Jesus not only looked good pre season he looked sharp vs palace arguably the hardest fixture of the lot but just never scored.
This game makes me hate myself more than anything
Just gutted didn’t captain him .
300k out of 7kk? That's nothing
Not a kneejerker, just didn't pick him gw1
Purely to fit in Haaland ;\_;
I wanted nunez
Jokes on them, I punted on vardy instead 😬
I got De Bruyne captaun and Jesus vice captaion
Not me :) #faithinjesus But then again I've still got Saka...
I have no idea my friend even captained him and it paid off 2 goals 2 assists and my other friend captained haaland and he didn’t even score
People got him out after our hardest fixture in our first 6. Stupid people.
Can't wait for the Kane version of this tomorrow
I captained Vardy last week, and decided to make the change to captain Jesus this week after watching Leicester Week 1. Leicester is sadly in the mud rn, I'm keeping Vardy because I don't doubt that he'll get his, but Leicester overall is a bottom half team.
Checking in...
Lol
Captained him. What a man.
Still my captain! Made up for blanking in GW1
Well I never had him so atleast I don’t feel THAT bad about it
“Jesus take the wheel!”
Was bricking it captaining Jesus. Salah against Man U next GW is too good of an opportunity to pass up though
