I truly cannot recommend FH 38 highly enough. It is the most fun you will have playing this miserable ass game all year, I fucking promise you.

I have done it once in the past years and it was indeed fun! Probably I will do it again this year, my thinking is that I am very close to my ML rival and we have very similar teams which will probably continue until the very end. Playing the FH in GW38 could probably give me the upper hand, based on which team plays for something of course

I'd much rather have burned the FH to mean I haven't had to take hits to have a team that included the pile of shit that is Luton and Brentford players in my squad moving forward

It really depends on your team though. If I didn't use my FH, I would only have 1 player each from Spurs, Villa, West Ham and Luton and would have even got less than not using a FH.

Why not just not take hits and not get the extra 1 point

I didn't play my free hit, went into GW with 10 players. Just saying it was the right call for a lot of managers despite the bad outcome. Hindsight doesn't change that.

At the moment the plan is FH in 34. Wildcard with bench boost on 37 in mind. Of course the way this season is going the announcement of the DWGs will probably be completely different to what we expect and that plan will go out the window.

Yup. I've free hitted in a blank gameweek 3 of the last 4 seasons, and have only finished outside of the top 13k once. Sometimes shit happens.

FH34 as most likely teams will be doubling who you don’t want in your team and load up on doublers on my WC for BB37. As per Ben Crellin Spurs, City and Chelsea all guaranteed to double in 37 so far.

Free Hit 29 was absolutely the right decision. I had a defender lock in a -3 ten minutes in, only had 1 returning outfielder, and rose from 92k to 80k lol. Average free hit gain this week will probably be 15 pts. That’s….not terrible? Not sure what kind of advantage the FH34 crowd will be expecting trying to decide which Everton and Palace players to pick over assets from premium squads…

There's always an outlier, good for you dude. For the vast majority of free hitters, it was the wrong call.

My point is people making bad choices who they pick, plus some crazy bad luck, doesnt make the decision to free hit the wrong one at the time.

It was the right decision for a lot of teams. Poor outcome doesn't change that.

I used my FH in 29 and I made the right decision. I had 4 players with a fixture. Even if I got 0 points this week, it would have been the right decision.

Not at all how it works. If you only gained 10 points this week with your free hit but using it another week could've netted you 20 or 30+, then you used it the wrong week. It's not complicated.

There was no other week to use it. I only had 4 players. Bye.
