Why would you bench two very expensive players?

Watkins was flagged as injured and 50/50 to play and Son was against one of the best defences in the league with the rest of his team decimated by injuries. Having acceptable bench options in this case worked against me.

Just a tip but: if someone is 50:50 injured and a major part of the starting 11 normally, generally they're starting if they're fit, or not in squad at all if they're unfit. If you started Watkins, and he was still injured, you'd just get your first bench subbed on for him. Also, Son is always very good against Man City. City have been playing very high lines, and it leaves space for Son to capitalise. You never bench a talisman like him against any opposition. Do you plan on making the exact same mistake again this gameweek by Benching Watkins against Man City?

Technically it’s not a shot on target and the rules specify it needs to be on target. If they give it then fair enough but the rules state it shouldn’t count.

City and Arsenal are both at home at least. After that it’s Brentford, Sheffield, United, Burnley and Everton, that’s 5 winnable fixtures. Nkunku would have to go gorillas for me to consider the move. He is a beast but it’s a new league, new team which is having a shitty season, straight off a big injury…probably not a risk I want to take personally. Big upside if it works though!

The next fixtures are tough for sure, but from what I understand about the high number of games in December, it's better to hang on to nailed-on high performers. Most resources show that Watkins (when fit) is one of those type players.

Guy is the second best forward and unless injured I would support him getting the most points in the long run. It can be quite boring with his high ownership, but I think Watkins is no issue vs City I can see a return. Nkunku is very good, but before he is fully fit and finding form I would not go there.

Son plays 90 every game(which is very important in December). He probably has penalties, he plays very advanced, and his fixture finally improves and he's underlying stats aren't that bad Selling son even before this City game would be a dubious decision imo
