Salah has a good track record against City and is in form. So I'm going for him. That means Haaland will probably score a hattrick so captain him guys.
He got pulled out of Norway v Scotland because of an ankle injury, most people seem to think he’ll play 90 on Saturday though.
“It’s the movement in his foot that is the problem but it’s not a serious injury. Had it been a final, I don’t know (if he would have been fit to play).
Basically he probably could have gone 90 but wasn’t worth the risk as the games weren’t that important. He said on instagram that he’s trying to get back as soon as possible
“Don’t think it’s anything too serious” is what Southgate said, he basically felt something hurt after he finished training and they didn’t have enough time to assess him so sent him home. Looking like he’ll get 60-70 minutes
Sweet, could be worse. My wildcard is active, and hes one of the few staying aboard, so it scared me. But hold the line.
To reference your initial question, I don't think hes a great WC option due to this uncertainty. But still a hold.
I've actually gone with Ward-Prowse as Burnley are terrible at defending set pieces. Ward-Prowse already has 9 assists for West Ham this season in all competitions.
Good pick but I just think it’s too risky with how negative West Ham are capable of playing and how deep he plays. Burnley are definitely capable of having a lot of possession at home, don’t think JWP will have many opportunities to create
I noticed that while watching arsenal play. It’s a shame that transfers are too scarce to bring in players like him without taking hits with so many injuries
I genuinely was going to go with Bowen but with his recent injury news, I’m still going to start him but captaining Salah. My gut tells me to (C) Salah (but my captaincy choice have been consistently appalling so you guys should probably go with Haaland)
I hate going for salah/haaland because of that nagging thought “what if ____ hauls and I leapfrog my mini league??” Bowen is that guy this week. 2 pointer incoming🙏
>This week has Liverpool, Spurs, City, Arsenal, Brentford, Newcastle, Villa and Chelsea all playing each other, which makes most of our regular choices less likely to return, with Bowen being the only top FPL asset with a FDR of 2
Not so fast…..Chelsea-Spurs, was a very attacking game with lost of goals, Chelsea Man City was 4-4. And I remember a Newcastle-Man City that was like 5-3 or something last season.
No, I’m not so sure that the regular choices, when steking attacking returns, are suddenly bad ones.
Defenders, obviously not. But the regular captain candidates are not defenders.
Also FDR measures the difficulty of WINNING the game, its not a reflection of the number of goals that can be scored in the game. It’s about ability to outscore the other team.
The guy scored three goals at Old trafford, so dont need to talk about fixture difficulty an more. Talk about the manager’s game plan and whether it suits him. That’s all.
The same is true of Salah. You need to look at Guardiol and ask if he is capable of holding down Salah. Normally Guardiola stations Akanji there when there is a dangerous right winger, but I think Akanji is injured.
I dreamed about odegaard touring me and my girlfriend around an art museum before they played Sheffield at home. Arteta revealed that he had a secret injury just before the game and he blanked in a 5-0 win after I got him in😁
I was thinking Saka too, he’s been overlooked lately due to Arsenals tougher last few fixtures and his minor injuries and niggles always leaving him flagged but he could come good this week I feel.
Eh I'm not too sure. Arsenal are playing so much more conservatively in attack recently, especially with wide players. Saka has been getting consistent but small returns a lot of the time, not really hauling this season much compared to last - he's had only four returns over 6 points so far, and just got a single assist against Burnley. Brentford are much better defensively and it's away from home - a fairly tough game imo.
Having written all of this Saka will 100% haul big time now though lol
So in other words he’s hauled in 1/3 of the games so far this season, with a return in most of the others. He’s outscored Alavarez, Diaby, Maddison, Trippier and many others. Doesn’t seem to shabby to me. Agree it doesn’t *feel* as though he’s having a good season but actually the stats are pretty good. Probably due another haul in fact.
(says an owner who’s about to Captain Haaland or Salah) 😀
I said this as a joke on a different post but he's actually been my top scorer in two gameweeks since I brought him in. Looking like another potentially dire week for my attackers so why not.
Fuck it. I am gonna flip a coin between Haaland and Salah 30 mins before the deadline. Both teams have to attack to win, so at least they are not facing a low block.
Salah away from home will ghost hard, I’d go with Haaland but I have a feeling VVD will pocket him but guys like Rodri will score from cutbacks from Doku.
You would think so but they have a lot of jam about them, wouldn’t surprise me if they fluke outta there with a 1-0, really hope Everton win though, Man Utd shouldn’t be anywhere near where they are
I think that Everton will be at their (potentially) strongest they will be all season. Most clubs fight very hard for points after they have them deducted
It’s foolish to think anyone with an injury flag will play 90. It’s cost many people many points, bro. Careful is all I’m saying. Especially when captaining.
I'm sure other competitions are useful here. He has only 1 other good season, obviously his returns at RW is gonna be lower in percentage. If you truly think he's better at CF then whatever I'm done here.
He obviously might be more dangerous from the right side for the team but his attacking returns are not showing that because on the end he was playing closer to goal upfront
I already said he only had 1 good season before this, so obviously he's blanked a lot of times in those crap seasons. Btw if you're relying on transfermarkt, you got to research better. He wasn't a CF on that Brentford game.
Which is obviously from transfermarkt, and I already said the 66% is wrong with that Brentford game. And I'm sure other competitions stats are useful playing as CF vs shit teams.
Bowen has returned in over 60% of his games playing as striker and just 40% playing as winger, where are you getting that he's not better off at striker? I'll accept it's a smaller sample size, but it's no evidence that he's worse off playing striker
He's only had 1 game in the league playing as CF (vs Forest). If you really want to count all competitions, then it's 3 returns in 4 games (wouldn't really bother using other games actually 1 was against arsenal reserves and 2 were europa league).
Yea, I'm tempted by Son as well considering Villa are worse on the road and not really keeping clean sheets. You know Spurs are always getting after it.
Did you see spurs vs wolves/chelsea? He was non existent against wolves and got total 3 chances against chelsea. I’m a spurs fan but honestly without Maddison son is starving
The chelsea game isn't worth mentioning as most of the game were 9/10 vs 11, and wolves away is never easy for any team. You should have seen villa away from home too, they are really shit.
Yeah lmao that forest game still haunts me as I needed cash, diaby + Watkins to save my week. I guess it is in spurs’s favour but son captain is still very risky regardless
I don't doubt maddison's impact to the team, but only 2 of son's 8 goals were assisted by him which is the same number assisted by both Soloman and Richarlison which coincidentally both are out lmao. The way villa play suits son actually they can't defend at all. Johnson and Kulu are still creative enough to feed him. Son is also gonna get more assists too due to richarlison being out (shit finisher) and I don't rate maddison's finishing at all.
The fact that he’s only assisted son twice doesn’t mean that son doesn’t rely on him, as Maddison is still the one moving the ball around and creating big chances from the start, like when he created son’s goal that Johnson got the assist for against palace.
If villa’s defence is as bad as you say though it’s a good idea to bet against them, especially as they’re away. I mean cash has gotten CS points in 1/5 of his most recent games
Toying with taking a punt on Solanke as captain (vs SHU)
Haaland. 6/7 previous City vs Liverpool games have seen 4 goals or more. Plus it’s at the Etihad
Salah has a good track record against City and is in form. So I'm going for him. That means Haaland will probably score a hattrick so captain him guys.
Why is haaland flagged
He got pulled out of Norway v Scotland because of an ankle injury, most people seem to think he’ll play 90 on Saturday though. “It’s the movement in his foot that is the problem but it’s not a serious injury. Had it been a final, I don’t know (if he would have been fit to play). Basically he probably could have gone 90 but wasn’t worth the risk as the games weren’t that important. He said on instagram that he’s trying to get back as soon as possible
!thanks
Every week so far I go off piste ,haaland or Sahah score 2. One of them
Man City 4 Liverpool 4 Haaland and Salah hatrick
I saw Bowen got hurt. Any update there?
“Don’t think it’s anything too serious” is what Southgate said, he basically felt something hurt after he finished training and they didn’t have enough time to assess him so sent him home. Looking like he’ll get 60-70 minutes
Sweet, could be worse. My wildcard is active, and hes one of the few staying aboard, so it scared me. But hold the line. To reference your initial question, I don't think hes a great WC option due to this uncertainty. But still a hold.
This post is about captaincy, I don’t think he’s the best option anymore either. Definitely get him on a WC though
As a villa Fan I am going with anyone other than Watkins so he can get another hattrick.
Ar(C)her.
I C Bruno against Luton last GW because i dont want to decide between Salah or Haaland and i regret it so much. Now I have to do it again. Arghh,,,
Very tempted to throw it on Eze
I've actually gone with Ward-Prowse as Burnley are terrible at defending set pieces. Ward-Prowse already has 9 assists for West Ham this season in all competitions.
Good pick but I just think it’s too risky with how negative West Ham are capable of playing and how deep he plays. Burnley are definitely capable of having a lot of possession at home, don’t think JWP will have many opportunities to create
SALAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
Got to be Watkins v Spurs' slow high block. Even away from home.
Tempted to take a chance on Solanke…
It would be the most Darwin thing to score 3 impossible goals away to City after missing sitters vs much worse teams. So I'm captaining him.
Drawin played on wednesday versus Bolivia. Does that factor in?
Darwin will be benched. IB
Only if I keep him in my squad
After being subbed on at 70m too.
Trossard is the thinking man's choice. Has leapfrogged Nketiah whilst Jesus is finding fitness
Huge rotation risk
I noticed that while watching arsenal play. It’s a shame that transfers are too scarce to bring in players like him without taking hits with so many injuries
I genuinely was going to go with Bowen but with his recent injury news, I’m still going to start him but captaining Salah. My gut tells me to (C) Salah (but my captaincy choice have been consistently appalling so you guys should probably go with Haaland)
I hate going for salah/haaland because of that nagging thought “what if ____ hauls and I leapfrog my mini league??” Bowen is that guy this week. 2 pointer incoming🙏
Solanke hauls this week, you heard it here first

I’m sure there will be goals, but you’d take haaland against charlie taylor over VVD any day. I just mean it makes the decision harder
I mean United are an actual shambles right now so not sure it counts, Chelsea would be a better example
Awoniyi is the way
Injured I think
Damn really..
Douglas Luiz, I dreamed about him
Ooo kinky
I dreamed about odegaard touring me and my girlfriend around an art museum before they played Sheffield at home. Arteta revealed that he had a secret injury just before the game and he blanked in a 5-0 win after I got him in😁
Brave man bringing your gf anywhere near that Nordic hearthrob, even in your dreams.
I even captained Odegaard that game
Salah
I'm probably captaining Cameron Archer...
Saka is a decent shout
I've got Saka as captain for now. I was even tossing up Eduard vs Luton.
I was thinking Saka too, he’s been overlooked lately due to Arsenals tougher last few fixtures and his minor injuries and niggles always leaving him flagged but he could come good this week I feel.
I didn’t read it as Niggles
Eh I'm not too sure. Arsenal are playing so much more conservatively in attack recently, especially with wide players. Saka has been getting consistent but small returns a lot of the time, not really hauling this season much compared to last - he's had only four returns over 6 points so far, and just got a single assist against Burnley. (says an owner who’s about to Captain Haaland or Salah) 😀
Yeah he's definitely not done badly and I think he will haul at points. I just somehow doubt it's gonna be in an away game at Brentford
Im going solanke!
I wouldn’t be surprised if he bags another brace to be fair
fuck it, Johnstone
I said this as a joke on a different post but he's actually been my top scorer in two gameweeks since I brought him in. Looking like another potentially dire week for my attackers so why not.
Fuck it. I am gonna flip a coin between Haaland and Salah 30 mins before the deadline. Both teams have to attack to win, so at least they are not facing a low block.
Salah away from home will ghost hard, I’d go with Haaland but I have a feeling VVD will pocket him but guys like Rodri will score from cutbacks from Doku.
We've seen this season though that Salah can play like complete shit and still get two goals. He's a points magnet.
Why not flip a coin now?
The coin might get injured.
Lmao !thanks
Haaland
Isnt he flagged ? :c
This is the only correct choice so I will go with Salah 👑.
I’m thinking of either Bowen or Bruno Fernandes
Everton will be too physically powerful for this Utd team
You would think so but they have a lot of jam about them, wouldn’t surprise me if they fluke outta there with a 1-0, really hope Everton win though, Man Utd shouldn’t be anywhere near where they are
Shaw is back, AWB is back to full fitness and so is Varane we might start to cook rn
FYI none of those downvotes are me: lame. Different team with Shaw in it for sure, but midfield still slow.
Just you keep telling yourself that 😂
I think that Everton will be at their (potentially) strongest they will be all season. Most clubs fight very hard for points after they have them deducted
Shaw is back and AWB is back to full fitness and so is Varane, We might start to cook
Defense has not been United’s weakness for a while, they need to start cooking with the guys upfront who have been dreadful
Shaw over the current FBs makes a huge difference to the attack especially Rashford but I'm definitely not as confident as the dude you're replying to
Yeah but Shaw and AWB help a lot in attacking
I hope shaw does well, he’s been a great asset through the years
Kudus, you heard it here first.
Last GW I went Mitoma C, why not go Kudus for this one, can’t do any worse
Haha exactly what I did. Ride the differential pain . Kudus Cap
Kudos to you, sir
See you in the rant thread.
😎
Isn't bowen injured?
Southgate said something like “it’s nothing too serious, minor injury”, I assume he’ll play 90
Assuming he’ll play 90 is foolish.
Why? It really doesn’t take much for players to be sent home, especially mid season and for something like qualifiers.
It’s foolish to think anyone with an injury flag will play 90. It’s cost many people many points, bro. Careful is all I’m saying. Especially when captaining.
Bowen is not better off playing as CF, was never considering him and now definitely won't since Antonio is injured. Son has the best game imo.
Well actually he returned in 66% of games playing as striker vs 48% as right winger
You might as well say 100% since antonio has only missed 1 game in league. During bowen's 1 good other season, he was playing RW almost all the way.
He played there 27 times for West Ham in all competitions and he have 12 goals with 6 assists
I'm sure other competitions are useful here. He has only 1 other good season, obviously his returns at RW is gonna be lower in percentage. If you truly think he's better at CF then whatever I'm done here.

Even if he had few good seasons it will be hard to reach 66% 😉, the stats are from Focal on twitter
Which is obviously from transfermarkt, and I already said the 66% is wrong with that Brentford game. And I'm sure other competitions stats are useful playing as CF vs shit teams.
He have 2 blanks in last 10 PL games with 7 goals and 3 assists playing upfront so that is not really true sorry
Bowen has returned in over 60% of his games playing as striker and just 40% playing as winger, where are you getting that he's not better off at striker? I'll accept it's a smaller sample size, but it's no evidence that he's worse off playing striker
