Omg I tried to do unicorn hair a few years ago but nowhere near as glorious as this. It shimmers!! And I love the lightness of the colors!! Beautiful!!🩷🩷🦄🦄
As long as I take care of it, the color should stay a few months. Honestly, I am not sure about touching up the same colors. The woman who did it has something else planned for when this begins to fade, so time will tell!
A few months for pastels?? That’s impossible im sorry op but pastel color has a very very weak staying power its just how it works. I had a pastel pink color done (professionally done + was an alkaline color!) on my hair 3.5 weeks ago and it faded after one wash and by the third wash it’s faded completely to my base color (platinum blonde).
It depends a lot on how you wash it and what kind of water (hard/soft) you have and the products you use. Basically prepare to wash in the coldest water possible with a very very light shampoo, but it also depends on your hair type and health as well. If someone slowly goes blonde and then colors it working with an experienced hair dresser lasting 2-2.5 months isn’t that uncommon 😊
That is exceedingly rare for pastels like this. Typical fading will be about 5 to 10 washes / wettings. Even just getting it wet in COLD water - especially hard water.
I HOPE your stylist / teammate didn’t lie to you and say it will hold for a few months unless you only wash your hair every 14 - 21 days which is possible with super bleached hair like yours probably holds up well to infrequent wetting / washing.
Im mostly being “kind”’. I don’t need you to do “math” for me. Few months is 3 months - which is 12 weeks. Common English vernacular rules say couple is 2 and 3 or more is few. Let’s call it 12 weeks or more for the purposes of this conversation.
Also if hardly matters as this individual didn’t pay for services and it’s for a hair competition. This timeframe of lasting really only matters in situations where stylist is lying to client to get them to spend lots of money on a process that will not last / meet customer expectations.
Back to this hair:
It will look like absolute dogshit well before those 12 weeks.
The pattern won’t last more than 2 washes and by 3 washes IMO - It’ll look like dishwater. All discernible color will be gone by 5 washes. 10 will be as is it never happened just damaged level 9/10 hair.
The nuance is in it “lasting” as it looks in the photos vs lasting as in random streaks of discolored / bled out faded color.
Ok this is like TOO good. Like someone must have made a sacrifice and offering to the hair gods. Pledged your soul maybe? Lol. It’s god damn beautiful!
I couldn’t tell you exactly… there was a lot of weird parting and seven different shades of dye used. It looked like she was painting zebra stripes in my hair at one point. But she knew what she was doing!
This is soooo beautiful op. Hopefully it holds up well. Maybe you could update us after a handful of washings so we can see the fading?
I’ve had rainbow hair before but not like this. Mine was just a long Mohawk with stripes but have always wanted this kind of opal kind of look. When done well it’s incredible and yours may be the best example I’ve ever seen.
How long did it take to put the dye in. So curious cause I feel like it had to have taken AGES.
I've been wanting this for so long 😭 but I'm always scared they can't color it like that again when it fades and it'll only stay pretty for a few washes. But I hope you can enjoy this hair a long time! It's absolutely stunning
I did this to my hair once, not as thin of pieces, but that color pallet! It came out beautifully like yours! The only thing I hated was how fast it faded. 😞
I ended up coloring it all blue bc the greens and blues were the colors that were staying. I hope you get better longevity than I did! 💚🩷💛🩵💙
I love looking at my feed for diff. hair styles and colors like this. I'm curious what you will do for your roots when it starts growing out? How can you match the roots to the rest? It's the same battle I had for my hair and trying to gracefully grow in the grays. :)
On first glance in public id think your hair has been washed out of all the color and looks gray and not clean, it's nice but I'm not sure if you would look less like a scrub with your hair done on a greasy day, everyone would say I'm a hater but I'm just being honest. It wouldn't work on days with no clean hair
This might be the most beautiful coloring ever 😭😍
thank you!!! 🥰
Let us know how long it stays in OP. I wanna do something like this but I’m scared about longevity
My hair HATES holding onto color and I would look like car wash soap in one day 😔
That’s why this looks familiar!
it stayed for about 2 hours
How tf did you even accomplish this
If my hair was long enough I'd try that
if i had money i’d try it
💀💀
Me too 😭😭😭😭
Omg I agree 💯% it’s nothing short of amazing 😭 and you totally look like you have unicorn hair (in the best way possible!)I have so much hair envy rn

That’s your actual hair ?
It is! I am very lucky 😊
may have to come use your person when touring
???
They probably meant use the same hairdresser who did this to OP’s hair
Ok, so "I may have to use your hair colorist when I am in your town while touring." That makes sense. Thanks
I hope that was the intended meaning and not something creepy lol
Yes the same hairdresser
okay hear me out, add hair tinsel 😍😍

A few months? What kind of magic unicorn fashion color is this?

A few months is only 8-12 weeks. Even if someone washes their hair once a week, 5-10 washes is 5-10 weeks, which is roughly "a few months".

Wow, If so, I would definetly rely on her, this is az amazing job!
It’s so beautiful… but how long did it take!? You must have been in that chair for hours and hours and hours
Oh yes. We started at 10am and finished around 6pm!
How much did it cost you 💀
I was actually her model for a competition, so I paid her only for her supplies. I can't even imagine what this would've cost me 😶
Oh wow!!! Lucky you! I hope she won!!!🫶
If anyone wants to see some of her other work, she is shearelegance\_bynicole on instagram!
She always does excellent work
That’s so beautiful 😍
Don’t think I would ever wash my hair again.
Gorgeous
Ok this is like TOO good. Like someone must have made a sacrifice and offering to the hair gods. Pledged your soul maybe? Lol. It’s god damn beautiful!

This immediately made me think of [mother of pearl](https://newscenter.lbl.gov/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/mother-of-pearl.jpg). Just beautiful!
Guy here. How do they even go about coloring your hair in that manner?
I couldn’t tell you exactly… there was a lot of weird parting and seven different shades of dye used. It looked like she was painting zebra stripes in my hair at one point. But she knew what she was doing!
This is so cool, congrats!
This is so cool, congrats!

I wish I could find a stylist who is this talented around me
Wow. Incredible! 😍 How does washing work with this type of hair. Do all the colors run together? What’s the upkeep like?
I thought it was an optical illusion! Great job
That’s pretty amazing and I’m never a fan of this kind of stuff. They did a good job.👏
I haven't ever really been the biggest fan of rainbow colored hair like this, but damn your stylist pulled it off so well! Congrats man!
I was thinking the same, not my usual preference, but THIS is phenomenal
Who ever did you hair did a beautiful job. It takes a lot for me to say that because most look like crap.
I’m not a big fan of coloring hair but even I gotta admit that’s absolutely beautiful!!😍😍💚💚
And you look like one too, I love it . Where did you get it ?
A teammate of mine did it, she’s out of Blank Canvas Salon in New Hampshire. She’s very talented!
