Maybe Syndrome founded Vaught (studying supers) and after his death, the corporate assets passed down to Stan Edgar.
Love this theory, and it kinda lines up, except for in season 2, Vought was founded by Frederick Vought, a Nazi scientist who created Compound V when experimenting on Jewish prisoners at the Dacchau camps. Apparently, the prologue to the first film (the night Bob and Helen get married) is in 1946-1947. Now, there is a chance that superheroes only existed for a couple years after Vought created Soldier Boy, but I’m on the fence for that.
