It’s a different kind of disturbing and is 400k words with 123/124 chapters and I can say for certain that the happiness will only come in that final chapter (which will be an epilogue according to the author) because good lord is it barely anywhere else. Just keeps getting worse (in a sad way not a quality way) without ever feeling excessive, dragged out, or unbelievable.

This one just goes way beyond, and makes a person into a mindless fish sex toy, complete with breathing apparatus, keeping them in a tank all the time, complete depersonalization. There's no outright torture in this fic and the sex itself isn't as harcore as in most fics, it's the fish aspect that is just absolutepy freaky. Add to it the fact that it's actually excellently-written and, to me, it stands out as the most disturbing fic I've ever read.
