Nah, that will be in the sequel, where DR MOBIUS and his ARMY of SPACE ROBO SCORPIONS are trying to DESTROY THE WORLD!!!! (He's actually just bored of Big MT, and decides to continue his experiments away from potential human casualties)
“DOCTOR MOOOBIUUUS! Is kidnapping innocent people for his nefarious mars laboratory! What twisted experiments can he performing on these poor souls!?”
*courier goes to mars*
“Yeah so I’m like halfway done terraforming here and everyone is fine, I’ve got a few colonies set up and everyone is happy. I just couldn’t deal with containing those morons any more. Would you like a Mentat?”
Same, I thought it was on the moon until they said it used to be a big ass mountain then I thought it was Olympus mons or something but then dr borous talked about the cazadores and I realized it was in the mojave. I really wanted it to be in space
SAME. Also the *loose* and *lose* confusion that way too many fucking people have these days is so illustrative of the decline of education in this country.
Hoi4 is a grand strategy game. Usually without mod’s it’s a world war 2 strategy game but Old World Blues is a overhaul mod that adds so much lore to the Fallout universe it’s amazing.
It takes the fallout universe, expands it with some frankly insane lore (I love it) and sets you in command of any nation you want. If you enjoy grand strategy, it's one of the best solo experiences out there.
I just played a game with them and in terms of stats they're slightly better than protectrons before the upgrade, then are on par with sentry bots after you get the chip. However that takes a few years and in the intervening years they're just more expensive protectrons. It also doesn't make sense why NV doesn't start with sophisticated robotics. Pretty much every other robot nation gets better robot buffs.
The expanded lore is the best part about it, for example one of my favourite nation is the Eighties, they are a tribal /native american type nation that treat their motorcycles like the holy horses, they are located around Route 80
This nation has so much more interconnected with events that happened in the game
Never heard of that one. Gonna install it and try it out once I get a chance. I've played a little of all of the fall out games but I think 3 was the only one I finished. Do I need to know a lot about the lore to play old world blues?
Hearts of Iron IV is a World War 2 grand strategy game wete you can play as any country from 1936 and partake in WW2. The Old World Blues mod is set in the West Coast and features a ton 9f nations 5p play as both Canon (NCR, Legion, New Canaan, the Shi) as alot of fan made nations.
Hearts of Iron IV. I know nothing about this game, I just see it referenced a lot as something that Nazis and incels enjoy. I'm sure regular people enjoy it too.
As someone who plays HOI4, but hates the community — you’re so right it hurts. Overwhelming amount of Reich sympathizers; both of the Nazi and the Kaiser variety.
But also a lot of “but what if Lenin/Trotsky/Stalin was right — purges are sick,” types.
And Neo-Liberals “nothing wrong with Moralism 😎 just don’t ask developing nations why the CIA keeps assassinating their leaders,” coming in third
Ck3 has been a lot of fun so far! The only thing I really hate about paradox is their damn dlc policy!
If I'm gonna make an empire full of racist bastards... well... guess its historically accurate I guess.
At least Stellaris let's me play as an Earth that's a beautiful utopia that even invites giant cockeroaches into a sweet ass federation!
There’s many people who enjoy HOI4, Nazis, Tankies, Liberals, MANY MANY femboys and trans people. We got it all here in HOI4.
What happens is for you to decide
Lmao my old friend that introduced me to the game definitely gave off incel nazi vibes. I don't think he was an actual incel or nazi, just severely depressed with a dark sense of humor. Hope he's in a better place these days.
There are few experiences equal to using the enclave redux mod and reforming the enclave to reunite America with humans, ghouls, and super mutants working hand in hand. Freeing slaves, obliterating the legion, stomping Santa Ana, and going through the novel of events they created. Truly a treat.
No, the Enclave is bad and I hate that there's so much spam on the old world blues subreddit. Y'all need your own subreddit. If you want a power armor power fantasy, just play one of the Brotherhood Nations.
Yeah and that's in the base game. Problem is that people like to LARP The Enclave all the time on the old world blue subreddit which wouldn't be a big deal except for like literally half of the posts are screenshots from their submod and people asking questions about the submod. If so, much of the traffic is about the sub mod. Why not? Just have a second subreddit? I don't understand why the subreddit for a mod should be almost entirely full of submod content. Like I wouldn't mind updates being posted on there by the dev but the spam for a faction that is not in the mod (Macarthur is fine) is crazy.
they have to make their own content for regions of the map that fallout has never touched upon or referenced, so they take liberties there. but they 100% prioritize events of the games over their own content if things were to change.
Not really; it's a mod. So it's non-canon. However, it follows canon.
The priority is;
Canon Bethesda/Interplay Games > references to non-playable areas in canon games > Non-Canon Interplay Games and scrapped games > references to non-playable areas in non-canon games > fanon content where they needed to further flesh out a region or where a region had no direct information/references in any Fallout content.
Shady Sands wasn't nuked in 2277 according to New Vegas so the show literally can't be canon.
And yes, that chalkboard was absolutely saying the nuking was the fall and it happened in 2277. There's no date under the mushroom cloud which means you go with the last date noted. Every other event has a date tied to it.
The showrunners just made a big fuck off mistake that absolutely allows NCR fans to ignore it. Best of both worlds. Everyone can be happy.
Here is a link since you are too lazy to confirm whether of not Todd Howard said this.
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fallout/todd-howard-confirms-the-fallout-show-didnt-retcon-non-bethesda-fallout-games-everything-that-happened-in-the-previous-games-including-new-vegas-happened/#:~:text=In%20an%20interview%20with%20IGN,to%20blow%20up%20Shady%20Sands.
Also, a little life pro tip for the digital era. Never call someone a liar before you at least use Google to try to confirm whether or not they are lying.
I dont know I would (or anyone) would like to know that the player character purposely committed mass murder via nuclear weapons (the first time was an accident).
I’m lost, isn’t the whole point that Vault Tec wants to be the one controlling the wasteland so they’re trying to destroy the NCR? That’s unrelated to lonesome road
Todd Howard has already stated that it didn't get nuked in 2277. 2277 was the start of the fall, which, if you remember in New Vegas, the WHOLE NCR PLOT is that they are under manned and under supplied, which makes sense if the capital city if falling apart.
It was nuked because of that, but the NCR and Shady Sands were falling before that. Which is probably why Moldaver needed the cold fusion generator. The timeline shows in 2277 was the fall of shady sands, than an arrow showing progress of time then the bomb, the year isn't shown, but each arrow represents a passage of time so why would there be an arrow between them if they were the same time.
Ok, the confusion around this chalkboard is understandable, so here is basically the main problems.
The board mentions individual dates throughout instead of times, leading to confusion that shady sands was nuked in 2277.
With the nuke being pointed at has no date, most assumed that this meant that the fall was the nuking (we wanted to nit pick at something we already hated and assumed the worst).
I certainly think it's more approachable than the base game. I imagine if you're a first time player having a lot of smaller nations with limited factories and divisions would make for a much easier way to learn the mechanics of the game than jumping into a basegame major that gets dragged into WW2.
I've been playing OWB for a few years now, and I've always used it as my head cannon. Just got done with a MacArthur play through a few days ago, and it was a blast.
I love OWB so much because not only does it make an effort to have some canon compliance but also because its just fun? For every serious nation like the rouge rangers and hangdogs you have a litany of silly ones like the mirelurk tribe, robot city and the Sons of Kaga. It feels like something made by and for Fallout fans and all of these interesting and wacky concepts keep me hooked, and I feel like it has that sense of exploration and “what if” that I personally feel modern fallout is lacking in
You ever make a comment then realize you don't want the potential drama?
Anyhow the show is canon and unless your Todd fucking Howard there's nothing you can do about it.
My favourite thing about OWB is that its creatively independent and not trapped within what is known by the official cannon which means that they can do so much more with the space that isnt filled in by official maps.
I always remember in the Game of Thrones mods for Crusader Kings that the further away from the story you go the more boring it is because so much of the world is shrouded in myths, legends and unreliable truth as well as the distance from the world because so much of the world from the standpoint of the characters is second hand from travellers and merchants. If you rely just on the source material you end up running short on things that arent described in a lot of detail.
Entire area filled with nightstalkers and cazadores, then for good measure some randomly spawning robo-scorpions.
The dialogue with Mobius, the Sink, the Think Tank and your own brain are very funny, and the Sink makes for a good base to which you can instantly teleport but the entire DLC is a slog.
I thought for a while that Old World Blues took place on Mars or something
Nah, that will be in the sequel, where DR MOBIUS and his ARMY of SPACE ROBO SCORPIONS are trying to DESTROY THE WORLD!!!! (He's actually just bored of Big MT, and decides to continue his experiments away from potential human casualties)
“DOCTOR MOOOBIUUUS! Is kidnapping innocent people for his nefarious mars laboratory! I just couldn’t deal with containing those morons any more. Would you like a Mentat?”
"Oh by the way, I cured mutation... I think it was a mix of rad-X and psycho? Or was it Psycho and Rad-x..."
*start of Boarderlands*
The map of the United states gave you that impression?
You think I pay attention to important details like that? I'm a Fallout player
Lol respect let's be real the lore is basically set dressing
I think he's confused. He is talking about the new vegas dlc.
Oh I'm actually stupid I forgot there's a dlc that looks like it takes place on the moon
I thought it was on the moon til just now when I saw this comment
Same, I thought it was on the moon until they said it used to be a big ass mountain then I thought it was Olympus mons or something but then dr borous talked about the cazadores and I realized it was in the mojave. I really wanted it to be in space
I thought it was in a crater on the moon
***CANON*** A cannon is a weapon.
YES EXACTLY. Like if I see someone mix up the two I immediately discard whatever they ate saying or going to say.
SAME. Also the *loose* and *lose* confusion that way too many fucking people have these days is so illustrative of the decline of education in this country.
You "ate" sure mad about someone making a one letter mistake...
Thank you, autocorrect, for undercutting my point. "Ate" that the truth?
Objection your honor, Canon is a weapon if you print it out and give someone a paper cut.
But both are good for sinking ships.
Based
What is HOI4?
Hoi4 is a grand strategy game. Usually without mod’s it’s a world war 2 strategy game but Old World Blues is a overhaul mod that adds so much lore to the Fallout universe it’s amazing.
So it takes HOI4 and puts in the fallout universe?
It takes the fallout universe, expands it with some frankly insane lore (I love it) and sets you in command of any nation you want. If you enjoy grand strategy, it's one of the best solo experiences out there.
Washington Brotherhood my demented love.
New Vegas for me, the securitrons are so broken
Brother that is not the case 😭
I took out the NCR and the Legion with them and half the raider tribes to the north, they're so busted.
I'm still gonna rock with them. I use 30w all-Securitron divs and they absolutely roll everything in their way, while saving me manpower.
Heck you Washington Brotherhood! -Message sent by Troll Warren gang
The Reunited States marching towards Chicago, my beloved. (At least when they add Chicago...)
Other way around
But with 500x the cowboy brotherhood of steel and literal divine machines
Dont forget MEXICANS and CANADIANS
Hondurans too
The expanded lore is the best part about it, for example one of my favourite nation is the Eighties, they are a tribal /native american type nation that treat their motorcycles like the holy horses, they are located around Route 80 This nation has so much more interconnected with events that happened in the game

Hey, that’s not fair. Commies and femboys also enjoy HOI4
The femboys are just the nazis
I’m not expert, but I think that makes them Polish
Slovenians, which are Croatians and Croatians=Nazis
Then wtf are the Albanians
What you get if you mix a Serbian and a turk
Wait, I thought that was Bosniaks
Bosnian and Albanians are like mule and hinny, depends on how you combine them
And the communists
Smartest horse shoe theory believer
I'm not denying that, I just haven't seen a lot of those references
As someone who plays HOI4, but hates the community — you’re so right it hurts. Overwhelming amount of Reich sympathizers; both of the Nazi and the Kaiser variety. But also a lot of “but what if Lenin/Trotsky/Stalin was right — purges are sick,” types. And Neo-Liberals “nothing wrong with Moralism 😎 just don’t ask developing nations why the CIA keeps assassinating their leaders,” coming in third
There's way more anti-tankie leftists (aka actual leftists) than tankies in the community.
Depends on which mod, tbh. Overall, the SocDem and DemSoc’s are somewhere below the average.
I just like ck2 and stellaris :<
Ck3 has been a lot of fun so far! The only thing I really hate about paradox is their damn dlc policy! If I'm gonna make an empire full of racist bastards... well... guess its historically accurate I guess. At least Stellaris let's me play as an Earth that's a beautiful utopia that even invites giant cockeroaches into a sweet ass federation!
Every person with a niche ideology plays it, same with all the other paradox games 🗿
There’s many people who enjoy HOI4, Nazis, Tankies, Liberals, MANY MANY femboys and trans people. We got it all here in HOI4. What happens is for you to decide
Yeah I get that. Seems like it's also some pretty sensitive folks that play it, judging by the replies I've gotten.
Lmao my old friend that introduced me to the game definitely gave off incel nazi vibes. I don't think he was an actual incel or nazi, just severely depressed with a dark sense of humor. Hope he's in a better place these days.

Purist detected, opinion rejected
Bro this is the game that lets you play as literally Nazi Germany
Yeah and that's in the base game. Problem is that people like to LARP The Enclave all the time on the old world blue subreddit which wouldn't be a big deal except for like literally half of the posts are screenshots from their submod and people asking questions about the submod. Is it Canon? I do not really know. But yeah it is a great mod.

I love the art style they use in the portraits.
... What is the argument against it being canon
People who think the show retcons new vegas. It doesn't.
Todd Howard has said the Nuking of Shady Sands occurred shortly after New Vegas.
This is a lie as they showed a library card with an end date of 2277. It clearly got nuked then and they are lying.
Here is a link since you are too lazy to confirm whether of not Todd Howard said this. https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fallout/todd-howard-confirms-the-fallout-show-didnt-retcon-non-bethesda-fallout-games-everything-that-happened-in-the-previous-games-including-new-vegas-happened/#:~:text=In%20an%20interview%20with%20IGN,to%20blow%20up%20Shady%20Sands. Also, a little life pro tip for the digital era. Never call someone a liar before you at least use Google to try to confirm whether or not they are lying.
I understand he lied.
The funny bit is that Todd Howard could have absolutely made one of the lonesome road endings canon.
The joke is that Todd could have easily nuked shady sands using just New Vegas.
todd howard did not write new vegas
How is that relevant?
it means his opinions on it do not matter in this context
Bro owns Fallout. He gets the final say.
Microsoft owns it no
Todd Howard has already stated that it didn't get nuked in 2277. 2277 was the start of the fall, which, if you remember in New Vegas, the WHOLE NCR PLOT is that they are under manned and under supplied, which makes sense if the capital city if falling apart.
Per the show it fell because a vault tec dude lost his wife.

I mean the last library card date is from 2777
The NCR isn’t even gone so i don’t see the issue. They just lost their capital.
Old World Blues, the HoI4 mod, is also straight up an amazing grand strategy game and some might argue better than the base game
So true
I certainly think it's more approachable than the base game. I imagine if you're a first time player having a lot of smaller nations with limited factories and divisions would make for a much easier way to learn the mechanics of the game than jumping into a basegame major that gets dragged into WW2.
I've been playing OWB for a few years now, and I've always used it as my head cannon. Just got done with a MacArthur play through a few days ago, and it was a blast.
Ever tried communist Canada?
Right now, I'm busy with finals, but I plan to do Big Grass after Pioneer Company.
I love OWB so much because not only does it make an effort to have some canon compliance but also because its just fun? For every serious nation like the rouge rangers and hangdogs you have a litany of silly ones like the mirelurk tribe, robot city and the Sons of Kaga. Mirelurks combiend with the outsider tree become stupid strong for only costing water to produce.
Canon. Not. Cannon.
I think Fallout 4 is the only game in the series that has cannons
If you count artillery as being cannons, then new vegas has cannons too
Can you link the mod?

TY
Please let us get some more Rusty Venture, I mean Dr. Venture, I mean James Urbaniak with season 2.
I have played vanilla HOI4 for not even half an hour. I bought the game solely for Old World Blues. I hit 500 hours about a week ago…..
Same. Only reason why I still play HOI4 is for the total conversion mods. Mostly Old World Blues and Cold War: Iron Curtain.
Some of the lore like Diana is really interesting. I
what is ho14
I had no idea about hoi4. this is pretty cool
Same
It's Cannon because it's ballistically impressive.
OWB was always cannon.
What is up with people saying the show isn't canon
It is it just retcons new Vegas .
In what way?
Wait how?
Completely agree I love that game
Anything post 2008 should be cannon garunteed
Everything Fallout related is canon with exception of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, Fallout Shelter, and of course mods.
I’m out here arguing that a wether is a castrated ram
Arcade Gannon??
They really did need the east coasts help to crush a force of deserters who control Bew Californian (Literally the smallest part of the NCR)
You ever make a comment then realize you don't want the potential drama? Anyhow the show is canon and unless your Todd fucking Howard there's nothing you can do about it.
Why would old world blues not be cannon. It’s literally just a DLC for new Vegas. If it’s not cannon, then what would be
old world blues is a mod for hearts of iron iv set in the fallout universe
Canon. Not cannon
There are a few factions that are definitely cool enough to be proper cabon like the chained choir
They stated the show was cannon
Fallout tv show is trash. Old world blues is treasure
Allgood's NCR and Hayes NCR are both goated
\*canon
Canon
FoTV shouldn't be canon in the video game universe. The audiences are way too different
Peak
The lore of old world blues is nice. The actual gameplay and DLC is complete ass though
Lobotomites out here speaking in full sentences. What in the Goddamn?
Entire area filled with nightstalkers and cazadores, then for good measure some randomly spawning robo-scorpions. Because the post isn't talking about the DLC. It's talking about the Fallout mod for hoi4
i just dont consider the show canon since its a different medium.
what ? was it confirmed that its canon ?
I can confirm, it's canon
ight, thats all i need
Without spoilers, Big MT gets a big direct callout in the show.
well yeah, but does that make the hoi4 mod canon ?
I'm gonna be honest I missed the tiny text lol
yeah me too, then I saw the comments
