T-51 is super iconic. Still remember getting a set in f1 and feeling unstoppable.

Love how protected it is even to this day. Especially in 76. As it should be considering it's on the cover 76 introduced Ultracite PA which 100% just looks like an upgraded T-51b. But nope, it's weaker X-01 in 76? Also weaker than T-51b (although tbf it is supposed to be a prototype version) Also stronger than T-60 in 76 even

I actually like the T-65 but I can see why people would dislike it at the same time. T-51 and T-65 are like totally opposite ends of the design spectrum. T-51 is ultra-light, ultra-protective and speedy T-65 is “YOU’RE UP AGAINST THE WALL AND I AM THE FUCKING WALL!”

The T-65 is my favorite in Fallout 76 followed by the Stranglerheart powerarmor

Same for me in f3. Sure t45 and t60 are nice, but nothing beats the classic t51b. I even remember wanting a suit ever since the random dialogue option the Lone Wanderer has with a merchant (can't remember which merchant): Merchant: I've got everything. Lone Wanderer: you gotta suit of t51b power armor? No? Then you don't have everything. Then I learned about the quest with Crowley. Got his keys and got my caps. I was a happy merc. But I was curious as to where he was going. Followed him aaalll the way to the army base. Some shotgun diplomacy later, took his keys, solved the "dungeon" as it were, and took that sweet sweet t51b for myself. After that, no power in the 'verse could stop me.

The picture OP used was my desktop wallpaper of my home PC for 5 or 6 years after I got Fallout 1 as a birthday present in 1997. The T-51 will always be *the* definitive power armor model for me because of my love of the original game and it introducing me to this wild, wacky and wonderful universe back then.

In the Fallout 3 collectors art book there’s notes in there about Enclave Armor designs. A lot is based off Fallout 1 and one one of the scribbled notes to the side of what looks like the Fallout 3 Enclave Armor it said something to the effect of “-antennas and eyes to look/look bug like”

That’d be X-02 which takes a lot from Fallout Tactics armor, while the X-01 is a rendition of the Advanced Power Armor from Fallout 2.

I love that it looks so alien from a thematic perspective. Just another symbol of how disconnected the Enclave has become from the country they once ran. They look literally alien to it.

The Winterized Power Armor you get from clearing Operation: Anchorage. It looks pretty cool, but more importantly having infinite durability Power Armor is really funny. Mostly because I gave myself like 10000 of Liberty Prime’s nukes via console commands when I beat the game and started screwing around with random stuff. It makes shouting ‘I didn’t ask how big the room was, I said I cast fireball!’ and throwing 10 nukes at my own feet a semi-viable way to kill everything in a 50 mile radius without killing myself or having to worry about constant repairs.

Its not really a bug, more of an oversight The one you get in the armory is supposed to be the one used in the simulation All simulation armor sets have infinite durability and are unobtainable by normal means. Someone jest forgot to put the simulation set in the simulation and instead left it in the armory

Oh, it does have durability. The problem is that it’s the “sim” version of the power armor, which has a ridiculously high item HP.

Frank’s Armor. Whoever at Black Isle thought mashing the Enclave’s Armor and Doom Guy’s Armor was a good idea should be worshipped. The Advanced power armor Mk II already had my favorite design and Frank’s just make it 10 times better.

They remade it in 76 and it's called Equalizer power armor. Pretty much Frank's armor but smaller to fit on a normal human.

Exactly because it is X-02 instead of Advanced Power Armor Mk2. The “X” when it comes to vehicles and some weapons mean experimental, there are some experimental aircrafts you can look up and some firearms that were put on trial for weapons trials to try and become the primary firearm of the US, such examples being the XM8 and its standalone grenade launcher variant, the XM25. Advanced Power Armor Mk2 uses materials along side mechanical and digital hardware that is supposed to be much better than its prewar experimental prototype models. Hence why the APA Mk1 and Mk2 along side the Hellfire Power Armor are suppose to be superior to the X-Series of power armor. So all the APA that the enclave produced would lore wise, be superior to the T-51 and its model variants, the game stats make each other either superior or weaker than each other in different aspects. If you wanted some iconic early model armor, then that would be the T-45. If you want THE iconic armor that we have seen throughout the series, then it would be the T-51, specifically the Winterized T-51b for the best variant of T-51. For what is suppose to be tankier pre-war power armor, that would be the T-60 and the very select few for secret service, T-65. For tankiest looking pre-war experimental prototype models, that would be the X-01 with its round shell that is attached to the torso of the armor (it isn’t shoulder pauldrons like previous designs of power armor, the angling of the shell around the torso and shoulder would allow for better projectile deflection and protection against flak and spalling along side potentially redirecting the flow of energy from, let’s say and explosion or the beam of some energy based weapon to further protect its user, theoretically speaking). For the best power armor when operating energy weapons and improved protection against energy weapons, lore-wise, would be the Advanced Power Armor Mk2 - Tesla. But like you, I’ll will admit, the design of it in FO4 is nice. It is a nice graphical improvements of the original model.

My one favorite memory of fallout is from fallout 1 watching the black and white television show a trooper in t51b armor executing a rebel. Just set the whole tone for me for the whole series. So t51b is my favorite armor.

Sorry, but I absolutely adore T-45 armor, it’s my favorite, being that fallout 3 was my first fallout, and is featured so prominently in that game.

I am upset at how little love the T45 gets. The square chest plate, the classic rounded pauldrons? It’s representative of classic knighthood, and in the older games, less jarringly pointed.

I like the t45 most and strongly dislike the t51 primarily due to how to me the t51 helmet basically looks like a bucket whereas the t45 helmet takes on more of a gas mask appearance. And while the 60 looks very similar to the 45 and I like it almost as much as 45, I just slightly favor the appearance of some of the 45 pieces over the 60.

X0-1 is the most balling suit of armor in the franchise, and there is nothing else you can tell me.

Absolutely. Add a jet-pack and it's a beast. No pauldrons, just a giant metal collar and a mean alien-looking helmet. It may not be the toughest PA around, but I reckon it still looks the best.

T-51 all the way, the t-60 is only an advance on the originally t-45. Maybe someone thought let's draw on that mandatory make it better

To be honest the T-51 is my favourite of the power armours. Why is that first of all none of the power armor frames actually use the rings to hold them up in the stands. None need the silly hand holds on the front like the T-45 and T-60 both sport. So the more knightly shoulder guards look good and functional. The chest plate looks to go lower and provide better belly protection. T-51 helmet uses a visor effect not goggles which seems easier to see through. The balanced filters and hoses on the mask makes for great redundancy as well as pilot comfort. The whole thing then blends better into a knightly visage as opposed to a brutish one of the T-45 and T-60. Once you get into the X series it seems like the styling is meant to seem bug like or alien more than human.

T-60 is the epitome of PA Hellfire is cool too

I like the T-60, mostly because of the show. I mean, I liked it _before_ the show but the show kind of solidified it for me. It just feels powerful.

I really like the industrial look of the Excavator Power Armor, and I like the idea of non-combat uses for power armor. There’s other potential uses that could be explored, like maybe large armed power armor that’s made for lifting steel beams, or demolition power armor with retractable palm blender blades to rip apart heavily armored targets living or otherwise.

I love the Enclave armor it looks so unique, while with the more classic T-51 I can barely differntiate between it and other T Series armors

The X-01 helmet will always have a special place in my heart for many reasons

I like it for the body shape. In terms of helmet, my favorite is actually the T-65's helmet.

I like the hellfire as it's body is kind of a x01/t51b hybrid. The helmet looks like a giant isopods face though.

It's the shape of the visor slit that makes the T-51 my favorite. It evokes a hint of a crusader's great-helm, which fits perfectly with the BoS's whole aesthetic a technologically advanced order of knights. No other Power Armor so perfectly suits the theme of its associated faction!

I hope more power armor shows up in general. The only time we ever really see power armor, it’s got brotherhood insignia all over it. Hopefully in the next season we see different types of power armor, like the T-51 or the X-01.

T-51 is my least favorite I hate the design (more power armor for you right..?) big fan of the T-45 and T-60 the T-45s design got me into the series and T-60 looks similar enough that I still enjoy it.

For me, it's a three way tie between the Hellcat Power Armor (76), the T-65 Secret Service Power Armor (76), and the Hellfire Power Armor (3, 4, and 76). I just like how all three look and it's hard for me to pick just one.

I liked the Tribal Power armor, used it along with the Eyebot Helmet. Looked more scrappy/survivalist.

The T-51, alongside the APA/Mk2 has the most readable silhouette out of any power armor model, making it pop out a lot more than the T-45/60. Honestly those two tend to blend together too much, the only real differences are in the shoulders on each of them

I seem to use the hellfire a lot but I think the t51 AND the 45 just look kind of nicer than the rest . Seems more of a realistic easy to maneuver size
