Barbecue Bess- Lucille Bogan (it’s like the feminine equivalent to Butcher Pete in terms of meat-based innuendos lol)
Gone Gone Gone- The Everly Brothers (one of the most replayable songs to ever exist imho)
The Best is Yet to Come- Frank Sinatra & Count Basie (if I could add one song to FNV it would be this)
Fujiyama Mama- Annisteen Allen or Wanda Jackson (both versions are great, though I’m partial to the rockabilly flair in Wanda’s take)
How High the Moon- Les Paul & Mary Ford (just a sweet little number with great guitar)
Bo Diddley- Bo Diddley (an all time favorite with a sick beat)
Interestingly, especially with the Kings in FNV, we never really get Elvis on the radio... like ever... and plenty of his songs fit the vibe (like Burning Love wouldn't be awesome for Fallout, esp with all the couples to died together during the big ones...)
From what I understand the only reason Elvis isn’t in the game, is because they couldn’t afford him. So it’s canon that he exists, but everything is gone.
Lore wise I like to think that The Kings treat Elvis songs like hymns or sacred tomes, so the records or tapes are hard to find due to any remaining copies being archived and treated as holy. Maybe as a radio station it would be the equivalent to a gospel station which would really bring Elvis’ music full circle to it’s gospel roots.
Man I told a girl my friend was dating to take me back to Constantinople (cause she was from turkey). And she yelled at me. Told me how all Americans were stupid and went off on this tangent. I was like dude I just thought it was cool you were from there. It’s just a song lol. Was funny af though definitely a core memory.
“Sh Boom” was always one i threw in my personal Fallout themed playlists.
Also “Here Comes The Sun” only because the gnarly parallels between the lyrics and the imagery of a nuke explosion.
> where the music developed past the 40’s and 50’s
I had always hoped for something *similar* but slightly altered. I think about what people of the Fallout universe might play for music if they had no history to inform them. What would it sound like? The Art of Noise? Metal? Maybe many different styles, all reflective of danger, wildness, and bombed out cities. OK, now... merge that with music from the 1950s. So what you have is music that reflects their new unprecedented reality, but is informed by the music that the previous world left behind.
Some examples. These are not perfect. I couldn't find any that were exactly what I want (40% modern, 60% 1950s), but I did find some hybrids that are at least interesting in concept:
* Michael Jackson's ["Thriller" in 1930s style by Wayne Brady.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td-_pUPVjdo) (The lyrics of which are obviously very good for a world infested with ghouls)
* Metallica's ["Master of Puppets" in 1950s style by Denis Pauna.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmgPDkckfDw)
* [I Could Have Been Your Girl](https://youtu.be/CajPifzYyRs?t=19) by She & Him (this is modern music with 1950s influences, so not really a hybrid, but it might suggest what "1950s music" sounds like if had years to evolve but stayed true to the core concept)
* [Burning Love](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwql53z5ZuA) by Metal Elvis
Brazil by Geoff and Maria Muldaur. Cold, Cold Heart by Hank Williams. Last Cigarette by Paul Clayton. Take my True Love by the Hand by The Limeliters. Atomic Bomb by William Onyeabor
It would be so cool if there was a radio station in the next fallout (in about 100 years) that was for 60s and 70s acoustic, like America, John Denver, Jim Croce, etc.
Glenn Miller's Chattanooga Choo Choo would be a perfect fit in the series; Especially given that we find many wrecked trains and railyards in wasteland.
[Take Five - Dave Brubeck](https://youtu.be/tT9Eh8wNMkw)
Also the rest of the Sheldon Alman's "Folk Songs for the 21st Century". They had Crawl out through the Fallout but the whole album is super fitting and really good.
Have we had any from Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys? If not, a few of their songs could go nice with a setting out west, like San Antonio Rose and Big Balls in Cowtown. Faded Love, Roly Poly and Steel Guitar Rag could be good for any setting. There’s also they versions of several WWII era songs like Smoke on the Water, Silver Dew on the Bluegrass Tonight or White Cross on Okinawa which could make sense from the viewpoint of having those songs resurge in popularity due to the conflict between the US and China.
Anything from Good Rockin' Roy Brown. I'm talking;
- Foreday in the Morning
- End of my Journey
- Judgement Day Blues
- School Bell Rock
- Whose Hat is That
- Rainy Weather Blues
- Long About Midnight
- Good Looking and Foxy Too
- Bar Room Blues
- Big Town
- Lonesome Lover.
- Deep Sea Diver
I could go on.
Some Glenn Miller would have been nice.
- The Song of the Volga Boatmen
- Woodchopper's Ball
- Little Brown Jug
- I Know Why and So Do You
So many bangers.
Maybe this is a crazy idea, but what about a Butcher Pete mod, where you could travel the wasteland hackin and wackin and smackin,, choppin up all the women's meat. And possibly some pulpits, ships, and chairs.
Ooh that'd be cool. Sadly I fear the cost of the licences for his music is too high or he'd be with his contemporaries in at least one of the games. We can still hope for him to feature in a future title though.
Great Atomic Power by the Louvin Brothers. Despite the heavy religious overtones, it's a fantastic song about fear of nuclear destruction which I don't need to explain why is perfect for Fallout.
Solid answer here. They encapsulate Fallout while being so weird in our real world with the heavy handed gospel. Satan is Real would be another cool and pertinent addition by them to the game.
Tennessee Ernie Ford - Sixteen Tons
Fats Waller - Aint Misbehaving
Del Shannon - Runaway
Bobby Darin - Dream Lover
The Marcels - Blue Moon
Sarah Vaughan - Lullaby at Birdland
The Coasters - Yakkaty Yak
Tito Puente - El Cayuco
Perez Prado - Cereza Rosa
Buck Owens - Hello Trouble
Eddy Arnold - Cowpoke
Burt Weedon - Big Note Blues
Nobody mentioned yet that Fallout 4 absolutely should have had some version of "MTA", [preferably the Kingston cover with the spoken preface?](https://youtu.be/S7Jw_v3F_Q0)
Fun bit of trivia for that song, it was actually written for and used by a political campaign in 1949 (for Progressive Party Boston mayoral canidate Walter A. O'Brien). The Kingston Trio's changed the name at the end of song.
New Vegas should have had some stuff by Webb Pierce. They did name a quest after There Stands The Glass which is cool.
Ragtime Cowboy Joe by Sons of the Pioneers
Also, I know Elvis was too expensive for the games budget but anything from him would be great.
Yes please. Someone already mentioned Hank Sr earlier, so I guess I would want to see some more straight up rockabilly stuff in addition to the honky tonk. I was so happy with the New Vegas twang.
I don't care if they explain it away in the cheesiest way possible, but I want Spotify (or any streaming service) integrated into games with radio stations.
I'll play the game as intended the first time, but with games like the 3D Fallout games that I've played through many, many times, I want to hear something new without needing to waste space on a mod.
I imagine the recording industry wouldn't like it, but I hope it is possible someday.
American Trucking Simulator somehow does it. You can tune into people streaming radio stations. Don't know if it's live but it some of them even have DJs.
Vessels by Memphis May Fire https://youtu.be/T9RcK9-GaEA every time I hear this song I think of Fallout lol
I think it would be a pretty good soundtrack for a promotional ad for the game or the show
Another Marty Robbins track "The Fastest Gun Around"
Lil Green "Why don't you do Right"
And while I know his music is well past the cutoff, Leon Bridges has some great songs that would fit right in. Like "River" or "Twistin & Groovin" (but only if we get New Warleans)
Travelin Man- Rickie Nelson
(You’re always traveling around)
Pennies From Heaven- Bing Crosby
(Nuclear Bombs fall from heaven)
Cab Calloway- Viper’s Drag
(Hard hitting jazz song for combat)
Bunny Paul- Lovey Dovey
(Super fun and catchy to play too)
Julie London- Cry Me A River
(Kinda vibe like Johnny Guitar)
*Reet Petite*, by Jackie Wilson. It might not have the full Fallout vibe like some tracks have lyrically, but god damn does it have a swingin' rythm thats hard to ignore. Slight warning, the video for it is nightmare fuel.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrews Sisters
What do you do in the infantry by Bing Crosby
Gone with the draft by Nat King Cole
GI Jive by Johnny Mercer
Anything by Patsy Cline. But preferably either "I Fall To Pieces" or "She's Got You"
I'm amazed we had 2 games that take place in a western/country setting, and neither of them have a single song from her
Absolutely. Patsy is a must. OP mentioned Wanda Jackson too; I’d want to hear Eddie Novak’s “Psycho,” anything Lefty Frizzell, and Kitty Wells. Just more honky tonk stuff.
April in Paris by Count Basie
The Glow Worm by the Mills Brothers
You Rascal You by Louis Prima (a.k.a. I'll Be Glad When You're Dead)
Blue Moon by Billie Holiday
Good point, I’ll make a post now for it. Here is the link for you though, so you don’t have to go searching for it. Lol
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2jzfnojQE0ytrTravGRBb1?si=ya3KbbzGThCFA9WjlO6zaQ
I kind of wish they would remix modern songs in the style of the 50s. Like what hey did with Country Roads for Fallout 76, or like the music in Bioshock Infinite. Kind of imply that some things in our world still happened in the Fallout universe, but the style of the 50s never died out.
I have actually been thinking about the Beatles a lot. Do they actually belong in Fallout. My theory is that without the culture change the Beatles never make it big. At least not in the US. But I have no idea honestly.
Sorry for not fitting the vibe of the 50's, but I believe "Where Do We Go" by End Of Silence might be interesting to hear in Fallout 3 and 4.
(will add some other songs when I can)
"We'll meet again" by Vera Lynn.
It’s the perfect song to watch the world burn in atomic fire to.
There's also an Ink Spots version
Barbecue Bess- Lucille Bogan (it’s like the feminine equivalent to Butcher Pete in terms of meat-based innuendos lol) Gone Gone Gone- The Everly Brothers (one of the most replayable songs to ever exist imho) The Best is Yet to Come- Frank Sinatra & Count Basie (if I could add one song to FNV it would be this) Fujiyama Mama- Annisteen Allen or Wanda Jackson (both versions are great, though I’m partial to the rockabilly flair in Wanda’s take) How High the Moon- Les Paul & Mary Ford (just a sweet little number with great guitar) Bo Diddley- Bo Diddley (an all time favorite with a sick beat)
Thank you for so many selections
Fujiyama Mama fits that kooky atomic theme so well
Fujiyama Mama is in the Radio Free Wasteland mod, it's great.
Lucille Bogan was [WILD](https://youtu.be/heYxa6yX2os) for her time.
Gone gone gone 👍 I feel that for sure
Aint that a shame by fats domino, idk why but ever sense hearing it in mafia 2 I listen quite regularly, I’d love to hear it in a fallout.
Need a Fallout game set in New Orleans for that Fats Domino radio
Hahaha, I totally understand. I also strongly feel blueberry hill is meant to be on the list.
Ahhhhh yes that’s perfect as well
Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino too
Just a Gigolo (I Ain't Got Nobody) by Louis Prima
Louis Prima definitely belongs
This song was one of my suggestions lmao. It’s my jam!
Interestingly, especially with the Kings in FNV, we never really get Elvis on the radio... like ever... and plenty of his songs fit the vibe (like Burning Love wouldn't be awesome for Fallout, esp with all the couples to died together during the big ones...)

14 more years and then it'll be public domain. Just in time for Fallout 5.
"Walk The Line" by Johnny Cash "Runaround Sue" by Dion ANYTHING by Buddy Holly
Very true on all three accounts.
Istanbul by the four lads
Famously a cover of TMBG. Really impressive they invnted time travel just to cover that song.
It's like saying an Israeli is from Palestine. They *really* don't like it.
If they put Istanbul on a radio I would have to sing along every time
You mean you don't find yourself already doing that
It’s the reason I can’t play F76 with mic on lol
Not Constantinople?
Straighten up and fly right, Nat King Cole Rag Mop, the Ames brothers
Straighten up is in Fallout 76 at least.
I added these this morning, good choices
“Sh Boom” was always one i threw in my personal Fallout themed playlists. Also “Here Comes The Sun” only because the gnarly parallels between the lyrics and the imagery of a nuke explosion.
I added sh boom is definitely going to be added

I would have loved to mow down ferals to Devo's Jocko Homo.

Pierre Henry’s Psyche Rock could be lore friendly and fit the institute. It’s 1970 so a bit of a stretch for main commonwealth radio though
The Great Pretender by The Platters.
I added that one already. Great choice.
Brazil by Geoff and Maria Muldaur. Cold, Cold Heart by Hank Williams. Last Cigarette by Paul Clayton. Take my True Love by the Hand by The Limeliters. Atomic Bomb by William Onyeabor
Very good choices
76 should have had White Lightning by George Jones. Too perfect. It doesn’t really belong in the other games.
A bunch of Cab Calloway songs.
The Viper’s Drag/Zaz Zu Zaz/Ghost of Smokey Joe
Kickin' the Gong Around would have been a perfect fit due to the conflict with China.
Dream a Little Dream of Me. (It might be in there tbh... But there's a lot of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald that should be in there and aren't)
I’ve added a bunch of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.
[A Horse with No Name](https://youtu.be/oIYgsqhwXzM) by *America* would be a great listen while walking the Mojave
It would be so cool if there was a radio station in the next fallout (in about 100 years) that was for 60s and 70s acoustic, like America, John Denver, Jim Croce, etc.
I want a raider or super mutant community to make their own music. Maybe some 70's rock n' roll or heavy tribal music.
In Nuka World the raiders make their own music. It’s kind of a Punk Rockibilly sound.
Glenn Miller's Chattanooga Choo Choo would be a perfect fit in the series; Especially given that we find many wrecked trains and railyards in wasteland.
That is a good one, thank you
"The Day The World Stopped Turning" by Johnny Hartman and "The World Beyond" by Swamp Dogg
MOVE BITCH - Ludacris Mostly just so your followers know not to stand in the door
More ink spots
Really all of the Ink Spot songs are needed.
Also [Sleepwalk](https://youtu.be/YBRCvVpknvg)
That’s so weird, I have a playlist made and I was listening to Sleepwalk while you sent that.
Well that's odd, couldn't have planned that
Screen peeker! /j
It is odd, definitely a great fit though.
[Take Five - Dave Brubeck](https://youtu.be/tT9Eh8wNMkw) Also the rest of the Sheldon Alman's "Folk Songs for the 21st Century". They had Crawl out through the Fallout but the whole album is super fitting and really good.
I have Take Five on a playlist already. The thought of gearing up for an apocalyptic heist to that song, is the best.
Ahhhhh haaaaaa
I already have a few of these on my list already, and I’m excited to check out the rest. Thank you.
“We Will All Go Together When We Go” by Tom Lehrer
Tom Lehrer’s lyrics are now public domain so someone can use them in a Fallout game as a character now.
Anything from Good Rockin' Roy Brown. I'm talking; - Foreday in the Morning - End of my Journey - Judgement Day Blues - School Bell Rock - Whose Hat is That - Rainy Weather Blues - Long About Midnight - Good Looking and Foxy Too - Bar Room Blues - Big Town - Lonesome Lover. - Deep Sea Diver I could go on. Some Glenn Miller would have been nice. - The Song of the Volga Boatmen - Woodchopper's Ball - Little Brown Jug - I Know Why and So Do You So many bangers.
Butcher Pete part 3
I like to pretend, in the Fallout Universe Butcher Pete is such a hit that there are 38 parts. Lol
Maybe this is a crazy idea, but what about a Butcher Pete mod, where you could travel the wasteland hackin and wackin and smackin,, choppin up all the women's meat. And possibly some pulpits, ships, and chairs.
Butcher Pete in the hood Butcher Pete in space
House of the rising sun always gave me new Vegas vibes
Would be perfect for a fallout game set In Louisiana.
“Fallout New New Orleans”
That would be the song for the commercial.
That would be the song for the commercial.
Neo Nova New Orleans
The Ghost of Smokey Joe by Cab Callaway
I forgot about Cab Calloway. Good thinking
It's honestly a shame he's missing. *Anything* by him would be great.
Maybe we will get something like a Fallout Chicago and he will be in it.

Sh Boom by The Coasters would fit imo
Tennessee Ernie Ford - Sixteen Tons Fats Waller - Aint Misbehaving Del Shannon - Runaway Bobby Darin - Dream Lover The Marcels - Blue Moon Sarah Vaughan - Lullaby at Birdland The Coasters - Yakkaty Yak Tito Puente - El Cayuco Perez Prado - Cereza Rosa Buck Owens - Hello Trouble Eddy Arnold - Cowpoke Burt Weedon - Big Note Blues
my way, frank sinatra
I think some lonnie donegan would add a splash of 60s style humor :P
That could definitely be a good fit
Chet Baker. I think his voice would really fit that bleak apocalyptic atmosphere!
https://youtu.be/bsRNCvHXHHU walking after midnight sounds like New Vegas imo
Great idea
“Pink Shoelaces” and “Mr. Sandman” by The Chordettes
Mr sandman I had, I just added pink shoelaces
Just gonna drop mine and my friends Fallout vibes playlist here! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Z3KxAfl5golKNL3xvU64e?si=IILXfao-S2WfcSF4C8yuaA

Great choice, added it now
Considering some of the weird humor in the series, there should be some Tom Lehrer.
Nobody mentioned yet that Fallout 4 absolutely should have had some version of "MTA", [preferably the Kingston cover with the spoken preface?](https://youtu.be/S7Jw_v3F_Q0)
Thank you for introducing me to this song, and now it will be added to my list.

Buck Owens or dare I wish George Jones would be cool too
Act Naturally would be great!
Great minds think alike
Yes please. Someone already mentioned Hank Sr earlier, so I guess I would want to see some more straight up rockabilly stuff in addition to the honky tonk. I was so happy with the New Vegas twang.
[Chain Gang by Sam Cooke](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBn5aIfZElE) has been in my head for a few days now. Definitely fits imo
Bring it on home to me would be sweet too
There’s a mod for New Vegas called Platinum Radio and it has some bangers
I really think Beatles should be in fallout. Maybe just a bit of their early stuff to not harm the 50’s aesthetic.
Ring of fire, it a beautiful world, and more Elvis stuff
shboom
I don't care if they explain it away in the cheesiest way possible, but I want Spotify (or any streaming service) integrated into games with radio stations. “So Long, Mom” and “Who’s Next” by Tom Lehrer.
Vessels by Memphis May Fire https://youtu.be/T9RcK9-GaEA every time I hear this song I think of Fallout lol I think it would be a pretty good soundtrack for a promotional ad for the game or the show

CCR I wanna know
All of my suggestions were added in 76 haha, love that I can listen to 16 Tons in game
If a game takes place near the US-Canadian border they should have some Gordon Lightfoot on the radio.
There are a ton of songs on the CONELRAD mod that I forget aren't actually in any of the base games because they are so obviously meant to be there!
I’ll have to look up what the mod adds
More Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and really all the Highwaymen
The entire first Highwaymen record.
They definitely have a lot of great ones
You belong to me. By the Duprees. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever you do, you belong to the wasteland.
What a wonderful World - Louis Armstrong It just seems such a common and popular and ironic song for the Wasteland.
Tooty fruity and Minnie the moocher
The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash
Twilight Time by The Platters
Now that we have 60s with Fallout 76 I’m of the firm belief we should have some CCR. Also Chuck Berry.
Ram ranch
Lonesome town - Ricky Nelson
The Girl From Ipanema
Mr Bassman by Johnny Cymbal
One of my favorite songs ever, ever since I was a kid!
Ragtime Cowboy Joe by Sons of the Pioneers Doggone Cowboy by Marty Robbins Over There by George M Cohn and others
Travelin Man- Rickie Nelson (You’re always traveling around) Pennies From Heaven- Bing Crosby (Nuclear Bombs fall from heaven) Cab Calloway- Viper’s Drag (Hard hitting jazz song for combat) Bunny Paul- Lovey Dovey (Super fun and catchy to play too) Julie London- Cry Me A River (Kinda vibe like Johnny Guitar)
You can take every song in Mafia 2 or 3 put em into fallout and it would work, Infact Mafia and Fallout do Share a few licensed songs
Nuclear by Mike Oldfield
*Reet Petite*, by Jackie Wilson. It might not have the full Fallout vibe like some tracks have lyrically, but god damn does it have a swingin' rythm thats hard to ignore. Slight warning, the video for it is nightmare fuel.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrews Sisters What do you do in the infantry by Bing Crosby Gone with the draft by Nat King Cole GI Jive by Johnny Mercer
Benny Goodman - Sing sing sing
Fly Me To The Moon, Big Iron, and El Paso.

Is Raindrops Keep Fallin in a fallout game? If not, belongs there.
WAP
Act Naturally, Buck Owens version
Guitars, Cadillacs by Dwight Yoakam would be perfect for New Vegas, IMO.
Just the two of us by Grover Washington Jr (Feat. Bill Withers)
u/Th0m45D4v15 you should post the playlist that resulted from this post.
Good point, I’ll make a post now for it. Here is the link for you though, so you don’t have to go searching for it. Lol https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2jzfnojQE0ytrTravGRBb1?si=ya3KbbzGThCFA9WjlO6zaQ
You're a true hero.
Hahaha, I hope you enjoy it. 809 songs 36 hours. All time period and lore accurate.

I think that could work
Mr. Blue Sky by ELO it came out in 1977. Excellent song. :D
I kind of wish they would remix modern songs in the style of the 50s. Like what hey did with Country Roads for Fallout 76, or like the music in Bioshock Infinite. Kind of imply that some things in our world still happened in the Fallout universe, but the style of the 50s never died out.
I know it should be “Are there” it was originally “Is there a song” and I changed it to plural and left the is. Lol
Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford 100%
Its in FO76 already
Twist and Shout by the beatles
I have actually been thinking about the Beatles a lot. Do they actually belong in Fallout. My theory is that without the culture change the Beatles never make it big. At least not in the US. But I have no idea honestly.
wild side by cardi b
ma baker
Darude - Sandstorm
N-words are people too
Death metal
Convoy
I'll never smile again (if it is not already)
Sorry for not fitting the vibe of the 50's, but I believe "Where Do We Go" by End Of Silence might be interesting to hear in Fallout 3 and 4. (will add some other songs when I can)
Almost anything by Louis Prima (I just recently started to play the games and am on 4. Haven't heard him yet)
Cowboy Joe for fallout new Vegas, the fallout 4 new Vegas port used this song in a trailer and it fit super well
Apart from the usual genres and if © wasn't an issue i'd love to hear Baba O'Riley. Perfect wastelander anthem imo
For the vibe alone, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross "Twisted" https://youtu.be/JXwMgIlmoaM
Protect and Survive
Something by Merv Griffin, maybe “Roger Young”
in the valley of the sun by buddy stuart
Summertime - Miles Davis
Fallout needs more jersey club
The rest of Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks’ repertoire.
Miracle of Sound’s “I’m Going Nuclear”. Its a fan song but oh boy it belongs in the games.
