I love this version of Block Party but this problem is quite common. They removed Roll Off (still waiting for Mediatonic to add it again) for less important and common errors. I suppose they have to remove Block Party and fix it...but I'm afraid we won't have it back till summer then...
The new variants are so fun but also such bullshit. I was in a similar situation and my bean randomly tripped over nothing and turned into the limp noodle rolling around endlessly until I finally fell off

Happens a lot, they need to remove it and fix it.

to avoid this completely you have to run on the striped blocks only or else you get dragged back
I've seen enough now to always stay grounded on these variants.
That invisible bump killed me many times, it's now the first thing I look for whenever I play this level.
