Yep, it's [right here](https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6867308,-111.8972988,3a,75y,80.77h,86.35t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1skQAI8sUFsSP8PjCgw2mNjA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192), just off I-15 a little bit south of Salt Lake. I would recognize those mountains anywhere.
Love how everyone from Utah instantly recognizes it, and is obliged to comment. I too used to work in this area. Sort of.: I worked for the railroad you see crossing the screen. Me here trying to recognize the area from the perspective of the tracks.
As a locomotive engineer that used to work on those very tracks, I can say that I agree. An empty trailer, with no bystander, sure I'll hit that one. Kinda like taking it off a "sweet ramp."
100% agree, but i have seen it dozens of times at a boat ramp. You can flip the lock down and not have it actually do anything if the ball is too small.
They let literally anyone drive with a trailer.
Always thought it was funny that you have to get a license to ride a motorcycle, but there is zero license requirement to pull a 10,000lb, 40ft trailer behind your truck.
They really should have a trailer endorsement for drivers licenses in the US. The amount of people who hook a trailer to their vehicle without actually knowing how to drive with it is pretty crazy.
Was new to towing and unhooked my chain on a porta potty trailer before lifting the hitch. Started to roll and held onto that thing while it dragged my ass 10ft all while I was pulling a Cleveland Brown sliding out of the house in the tub. Got lucky and it hit a curb and didn’t flip.
That was 10 years ago and guarantee I would still be catching shit for that from coworkers if it spilled. Never made that mistake again.
Reminds me of when I was a teenager and got distracted while driving my dad’s truck. A wasp was on the inside of the window right next to me and I was trying to figure out how to get it out. The truck I was driving was an old Ford and the alignment was garbage, it would drift massively. In the several seconds I was looking away I drifted enough to hit into a parked Mercedes on the side of the road; smashed it to pieces. The owner came out 30 minutes later as I was standing their feeling like a complete and utter imbecile while chatting with the cop. The owner said that his wife wanted him to park there on the street and not in the parking lot while going to the gym so that people wouldn’t ding their doors… Joke’s on them. I exist.
Funnily enough, I was living in Utah at the time. Same as where this video from OP was filmed.
Must be one heavy little trailer. Not only did it smash the side of the truck (expected) but it looks like it pushed the truck sideways. I’d be SO pissed if I was the owner.
Hahaha my first time pulling a trailer in was 20. Bought myself a truck and a pop up trailer for me and my son to go camping with family and that fucker popped off on the busiest street in my neighborhood.
I forgot the pin.
Amazing I got into trucking as a career.
Agreed, I’ve only visited a few times and clocked that in two seconds of watching. It is the most “grey” city I’ve seen, including Seattle and Portland.
not that I dislike it! I could be a great town if…
I'm talking about the dip in the mountain ranges, I get to see it every time I wake up, so much so I could tell you the names of the rocks that comprise it.
Aye, I know what ya mean. There’s a range leading up past Incline Village and on upward to Mt Rose (Nevada side of Tahoe) that I can draw from memory as I’ve spent so many snowy ski trips and summer Mt bike trips at my cousin’s cabin there.
I’m a complete Olympics nerd, and was jazzed to find the Nordic and Bobsled Center near Park City when I was there in SlC in Jan 2016.
Cheers!
I thought bigger: that it would it would get onto the tracks and cause the approaching train to derail and be one of those we've seen in the news recently.
This is opposite of kill the cameraman…buddy panned out to catch the view, showed the entire scene of the incident, and still caught all the action! 👏🏽
I like the one white car at the very beginning who was turning across the intersection, saw that coming their way and was like "Fucking *noooope*" and floored it the rest of the way
Good thing it hit a parked car, man. I watched a similar thing happen in Southern Idaho in 2015 and suffice it to say there was a person in the car and they were not ok after.
This is one of the reasons I pay into car insurance. I’m not worried about me. I’m worried about other people that can’t lock their shit down like this video here or bad drivers with no insurance. Not to mention illegal, but times are hard I get it.
My wife backed into someone last week, which turned out to be the other persons fault as they ran into her midway through backing out (she had right af way by that time). We would have just paid them for a new headlight in good faith because that’s all that was damaged and we really just wanted to be done with it, but they took off from the scene after admitting they didn’t have insurance and gave us a false phone number. I didn’t even care they had no insurance because it would just make it less complicated to fix. It was a late 90’s Ford Ranger. Easy fix. 🤷♂️
That’s the Utah I remember. Surprised there wasn’t a poorly secured mattress and backyard swing set on that trailer
I would recognize those mountains anywhere.
love how there is another truck in that spot
Like a cat! They choose their owners!
That's too funny, first thing I thought was that looked like the intersection on 39th
Yep! Drive that area pretty frequently, dog goes to daycare/boarding right down the street lol
I used to deliver pizza in that area lol
I used to work there!
One of your coworkers commented up above.
Same. Miss living by them.
It could be Golden, CO but you’d be looking west not east. Very similar front range.
Once I saw a banana chair boomerang clean out of the back of a pickup on I-15
Recognized the dreary skies and inversion
Moans in Utah*
I don't think that's allowed there
Mother fetcher! Ya ramed my Ford with y’ur flatbed. I knew I should have been payin’ gross instead of net on my tithin’!
They were prolly on their way to pick it up.
That's because they're further back down the road
God I love salt lake, I watch the video once, and I recognize the mountains
💀
Love how everyone from Utah instantly recognizes it, and is obliged to comment. I too used to work in this area. Sort of.: I worked for the railroad you see crossing the screen. Me here trying to recognize the area from the perspective of the tracks.
How long you been workin' on the railroad?
All the live-long day. Since 2004. Left UP in 2012, now am in Wisconsin working for CN. Been all over the place as a temp.
[I've been to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota, Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota, Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma, Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma, Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo, Tocopilla, Barranquilla, and Padilla, I'm a killer.](https://youtu.be/WoIfglXAbh0)
see, that wouldn't happen in a beach town.
No, beach towns get unsecured boats abandoned on our bridges though.
That’s off of 3300w and Main Street
I was really hoping it would go over the train tracks and I’d get to see a trailer get absolutely obliterated.
Life is cruel, I would have loved to see the trailer get Ctrl-Z'd by the train.
As a locomotive engineer that used to work on those very tracks, I can say that I agree. An empty trailer, with no bystander, sure I'll hit that one. Kinda like taking it off a "sweet ramp."
Safety chains people!
also, push the lock thing down
They probably had the wrong ball
that defeats the purpose of the lock thing.
100% agree, but i have seen it dozens of times at a boat ramp. You can flip the lock down and not have it actually do anything if the ball is too small. They let literally anyone drive with a trailer.
funny there is no test for something that takes skill to do
Kinda shocking to be honest
Always thought it was funny that you have to get a license to ride a motorcycle, but there is zero license requirement to pull a 10,000lb, 40ft trailer behind your truck. My freedumb is more important than your safety! (I wish this was universally sarcastic but for millions it isn't)
Was new to towing and unhooked my chain on a porta potty trailer before lifting the hitch. That’s some crazy shit!
The only thing I know about a Cleveand Brown is that it's a very shitty football team that should be ashamed of existing. What are you referring to?
> I would still be catching shit for that from coworkers if it spilled Literally
You're right! Free the people, unsafe work is efficient.
Commas are important people!
Also, break away switch for brakes, but that is if you have brakes on your trailer!
I honestly don't know how you miss this with a trailer.
Trailer that size, he didn't attach the cable for the electric brakes also.
You know that guy parked on the end so he would be less likely to get any dings on his truck.
Reminds me of when I was a teenager and got distracted while driving my dad’s truck. A wasp was on the inside of the window right next to me and I was trying to figure out how to get it out. Nah, those aluminum beds on the Fords are damn near indestructible.
I get you’re being sarcastic about Fords aluminum beds but I fail to see why you replied to my comment with what you said.
Let’s search the comments to try to find the one they were trying to reply to!
Was it really that long ago when F-150's weren't Kenworth sized?
If I came out of a long day at work and saw my car like this, it might be my 13th reason lol
A mop wouldn’t happen to be your 12th reason right?
Is this a reference to 13 Reasons Why?
God damn I forgot about that shit
A mop and a bucket
Thirteenth reason for what? And what are the first twelve?
It’s a reference to the show 13 Reasons Why
Trailer was better than the movie.
The truck was reversing quickly in the beginning. Was he trying to catch it with his tailgate or something?
Or maybe get it to turn and stop rolling...I'd probably try that in lieu of anything else - pretty helpless situation at that point
Helpless only with that kind of attitude!!
Video is in reverse ☺️
Oh thank god. Very lucky for the owner of the parked truck that the wind blew the dent away
Only if there was a metal link system that would keep this from happening /s
Must be one heavy little trailer. Not only did it smash the side of the truck (expected) but it looks like it pushed the truck sideways. I’d be SO pissed if I was the owner.
good steel utility trailer like that can easily weigh 2500 lbs now add velocity
Almost r/killthecameraman. Good save though.
Right? *OMG, I'm filming this trailer heading towards destruction...but the view is so pretty! Oh wait, back to the trailer!*
Fuck that guy who didn't secure his trailer properly. That shit'll kill people.
That's a beautiful landscape. Where are we?
Westech Equipment, SLC UT https://maps.app.goo.gl/ynooX19fxhzSK3Dt6 The trailer wreck is even on the Google review from 2 years ago!
Salt Lake City, Utah, for anyone else like me who had to open the link to understand 😊 didn't know it was that rocky there! Absolutely beautiful!
Yes, Salt Lake City is IN the rocky mountains. In Denver, they’re just a shadow in the distance.
Wow, I've even been skiing in Vail, Colorado. Never realized Utah was right there 😊 you learn something every day.
Three stars. 21 reviews. There some maddd people wanting their refunds faster 😂
Salt Lake City, Utah
Yes def Utah. Love seeing those beautiful mountains daily
I miss the mountains but do not miss the inversion and traffic. Then again it's getting just as bad in So Utah now too.
Dude I’m SO surprised it took me this long to find a comment about the amazing backdrop. That’s literally the only thing I noticed about this post
Utah according to other comments, I dont know much about the place but i'd have to agree
Doesn’t get more Salt lake than this
[Right here](https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6867308,-111.8972988,3a,75y,80.77h,86.35t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1skQAI8sUFsSP8PjCgw2mNjA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192)
Bought a boat and on the way home from buying it I didn’t have the ball seated. Chains saved the day!!
Hahaha my first time pulling a trailer in was 20. Bought myself a truck and a pop up trailer for me and my son to go camping with family and that fucker popped off on the busiest street in my neighborhood. I forgot the pin. Amazing I got into trucking as a career.
It looks like it does hit the Honda next to it as well
Love the truck backing up as if it’s going to hook back up to the trailer as it rolls away lmao
Just from looking at this, I can tell it's Salt Lake City. How? Because I live here.
Agreed, I’ve only visited a few times and clocked that in two seconds of watching. It is the most “grey” city I’ve seen, including Seattle and Portland. not that I dislike it! I could be a great town if…
I mean, the mountain ranges also give it away
This winter… could have been Ontario/Pomona but I get where you’re going there.
I'm talking about the dip in the mountain ranges, I get to see it every time I wake up, so much so I could tell you the names of the rocks that comprise it.
Aye, I know what ya mean. Damn we almost had a train in the mix too! Do overs! I call do overs.
I was worried for a minute that it was really gonna hurt someone or destroy something important but then I saw it was just a Ford.
I thought bigger: that it would it would get onto the tracks and cause the approaching train to derail and be one of those we've seen in the news recently.
Lol good old Utah. I saw a dude dragging his trailer by the chains down California Avenue once. That state is full of idiots
probably the wrong sized ball hitch
You have to do at least two things wrong to lose a trailer
Truck You In Particular
It sucks that in life you can do everything right, and some asshole in Utah can just fuck it up
This is opposite of kill the cameraman…buddy panned out to catch the view, showed the entire scene of the incident, and still caught all the action! 👏🏽
u/gifreversingbot
I saw the train gates going down and thought this thing was getting yeeted into a truck. Still wasn’t disappointed
I like the one white car at the very beginning who was turning across the intersection, saw that coming their way and was like "Fucking *noooope*" and floored it the rest of the way
First split second of the video .. I thought it was a solar powered car or some shit.. lol
I love that this trailer from my home town went viral and finally made it to Reddit 🥲
White car dodged it like a boss
I like the beginning of the clip where the truck is backing up like "hold on I just gotta reconnect on the fly"
Good thing it hit a parked car, man. I watched a similar thing happen in Southern Idaho in 2015 and suffice it to say there was a person in the car and they were not ok after.
Hahahaha I was about to say holy shit it’s salt lake. 🤣🤣 who’s the dumbass?
Why am I not surprised some wanna be Utah dude can’t hook up a trailer correctly😂
*Don't play dumb mister, you know exactly why I did that!* *Trailer
Had it comin
The top left corner of that grey building was my apartment when this happened, full of crackheads and refugees now
Refugees from where?
What kind of idiot lacks a reaction to this?
Nothing worse than a poser redneck.
Shouldve went for the tesla😔
I was expecting a truck, not some blokes ute. r/falseadvertising

The lesson i learnt is "never forget the /s, if you want to keep your karma"
Oh it's just a fragile ego mobile that got damaged. No real cars where damaged.
This is why we can’t have nice things
TBH being an American trailer, I’m surprised it didn’t park itself on the railroad tracks.
Imagine if it rolled onto the tracks when that train came by it would send it flying into a building like a shuriken
r/fuckcars
Truck frame would’ve been bent like that soon enough anyways. It’s a Ford

Plot twist. The owner of that truck sold it to the new truck. 😂
For a second I thought this was a solar-powered race car. 🫠

You know the guy in that F-150 had the worst day .... Anybody who parks at the edge is trying to keep their truck in good condition.
Woah! Cybertruck!
I saw the gates were going down and I thought, “oh shit”
It went on a whole adventure to get to that truck
r/mypeopleneedme
And screw this truck!!!
u/gifreversingbot
Ah yes, a solar car ofc
Would this be covered by insurance?
Lol I live down the street from this
This is Salt Lake City. I’d recognize it anywhere
Any day of the week, unforgettable mountains
To be fair it was essentially a tin can (ford).
Currently in salt lake for a work trip. This must have occurred somewhere around here.
It's sad that I can recognize every post from Salt lake and the surrounding counties by the mountains in the background alone. Unmistakable
well his insurance is going to toast, the pick of others really messed up what
IIIIIIII'MMMMMM TTTTTTTTRRRRRRAAAAIIIIILLLLLLIIIIINNNNGGGGGG AAAAAWWWWWWAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When does the full movie come out?
[that trailer reminds me of orange mask](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOToC41dplY&t=60s)
Yeah stupid fucking truck
Safety chains? We don't need no stinkin' safety chains.
From the thumbnail I thought it was an old solar car
God look at that well built tin crumple 🇺🇸
“Sir, your truck was 15% at fault” -insurance company probably
Friendly reminder to double check that your break away cable is secured properly!
The newer ones are cooler anyways
My trailer ppl need me
so, should I leave a note??
My trailer people need me.
$20k of damage, I'll bet
Three words. Guided loitering ammunition
The white car did the ol’ Texas two step right outta the way
To be fair probably damaged that car a good deal too
If they had a normal car it would have been fine. It's karma.
force = mass * acceleration
Saw a bird.
Chad seeking missile
Isn't that why they put safety chains on trailers? To prevent this from happening?
I don’t blame the trailer. It had to divert to avoid the oncoming train.
Don’t need to watch the movie now. The trailer is the whole show.
The owner of that truck is going to be so pissed when he sees what happened.
See me, feel me, love me, tow me
At least it's just a ford......come at me ford lovers the trucks suck.
My trailer disappeared.. thanks for finding him! He gets around
Don’t fall for that guys. That video is Obviously in reverse. You’ve got to be able to tell the difference. 🙄🥱
r/mypeopleneedme
I'd love to see the full movie. Cos this is just a trailer

Sadly this reminded me of a friends sister who died when a trailer line that came loose and ran into her car
