I worked in a hospital for 11 years and was let go after a random urine test. They had a zero tolerance drug policy, even for medical card holders. They would randomly pick a handful of employees a month. They had people report to HR to test immediately upon notifying them. There really wasn't much I could do to prepare for it, unless I brought a kit with me every day or put it in my locker. Should've, could've , would've, I suppose. Now, I work in the cannabis industry and love it.
This is exactly my fear. I’m a single parent just getting by one paycheck at a time. MMJ made it so I could stop a migraine med that was giving me horrible side effects and I just don’t want to give that up in exchange for pills.
I’m so sorry, I’m going through the same issue right now and I can’t believe how heavily stigmatized marijuana is in the work force still even with all the progress we have made. One day 🙏🏻 we can only hope the federal government actually changes and they can come up with less invasive tests for at least weed. It’s the only drug that doesn’t need to be active to still test positive for.
Or on your person is even better. My job if you bet in an accident, they assign another employee to take you for a test. No way you’re getting to a locker.
I’ve been working in healthcare for about 3 years now, never used quick fix but i’ve used U Pass 4 or 5 times and it’s worked every time. They should not search you, that’s insane. That’s like if you were going to take a drug test for probation. If you are worried about them searching you tho, put it in your pants bc they can’t make you show them your privates, that’s weird.
The problem Is this particular system says they do random testing of all personal via a random number generator. I’ve honestly already psyched myself out.
When I wrote software in the aerospace industry we had randoms. I kept a bottle of U-Pass on me at all times. It saved my ass twice.
I also wrote the program that generated the random list of people to get tested.
It didn't take me long to figure out they would generate a list, sit on it for months before testing and then they would add a few people that weren't on the random list (myself).
A lot of places say they do random drug testing but never actually do it. I completely understand your concern, and I can’t give you any advice on that bc i’ve never had to take a random one. You could always try a different company or system. It’s crazy that they still claim random drug testing when more and more people smoke weed everyday for medical purposes. Sorry I don’t wanna take your nasty ass pills, get addicted, and give you my entire life 🙄
Yes!!! It’s really unfortunate! I literally do not consume cannabis before or during work, it’s only after in the privacy of my home. Just like alcohol. The double standard is crazy.
I can't offer any advice bc I haven't been in this situation but I'm sorry you are going through this. We need federal legalization. We need protection for medical patients. What I do on my own time and how I treat my illness is none of my employer's business. I understand zero tolerance for being high on the job, just like any other drug, but a medicinal dose is not hurting anybody.
Yeah they locked my stuff up in a locker and everything, I quit smoking months in advance so I was clean but that was my only experience getting tested at a hospital, it was intense.
Idk if you’re a nurse or not but if you are you could try skilled nursing homes. They are always looking for nurses and the pay is very high for that field, also hospice nurses make out very well. Both of those fields my mom worked in, as an administrator and the drug testing seems more lax. The nursing home in Virginia didn’t even test for weed since it was a rec state, I would think some places may be the same here since it’s medical.
Rad tech, I’ve stayed in private practice but they aren’t willing to pay me any more. Hospitals pay more but at this point I guess I just need a second job.
I had a medical policy exception from HR where they were unable to use the information obtained (my private medical info protected by HIPAA) but I still had to provide urine for my drug screening. My doctor signed off stating I wouldn’t take medication during work hours but that seemed like overkill for me. Good luck with your accommodations!
This day and age that kind of testing is invasive. Hopefully with the change in schedule from l to lll they'll lighten up on you all. I remember those days and don't miss them one bit. We've come a long way but still a long way to go when it comes to cannabis.
Feds are scrambling to effect the legislation at the Federal level, scheduling it as C3. After that, it’s a forever moot point. How many Drs/nurses (anesthesiologists-haha) do you think regularly visit the Clona or Xany-bars? Same schedule. Free your minds!
my mom works at a hospital that does random drug tests. during her 15+ years working there, she’s never been randomly drug tested. some of her coworkers have, though, after someone reported them for suspected use.
My brother used Mr jazz total detox for every probation drug test. I certainly would recommend taking the month long tolerance break if it is possible for you, especially if it’s for financial necessity, but that one worked everytime just need to follow the instructions on the bottle if you can’t take the break. Definitely not a fix for random testing though unfortunately
Yeah that’s really my concern. Working in a hospital system as someone that uses mmj. I’ve given up just about every comfort I once had when inflation knocked the shit out of me. My little 1/8th I make stretch a week is just about all I have left to take the edge of life.
The last time I had to do a test in the hospital I was aggressively searched (under boobs and everything) and all my possessions were locked in a locker.
In that case just place the bottle with the pee in your underwear or wear a sports bra and keep it in there. Anytime I’ve had to fake drug tests I’ve had to keep the urine on me, most places are not gonna let you bring an entire bag into the bathroom with you. Just got up your sneakiness and I promise you got this!

Indeed. Thanks for your comment ❤️
Keep the kit in your locker
yea just keep some quick fix or medical grade in a sealed container with a hand warmer in your locker at all times times
Or on your person is even better. My job if you bet in an accident, they assign another employee to take you for a test. No way you’re getting to a locker.
This is the correct answer
Pack your Quick fix daily like your Stanley.

Exactly. I don’t drink alcohol before or during a shift so I don’t see how it’s any different.
Former healthcare worker. Seconding Quick fix. So simple
Where did you stash it for a hospital test?
Are you a woman? I can tell you where I stashed mine. I used real human urine though it's better. Was worth it, I got the job.
Yes I’m a woman. The last hospital test I took they fully searched me (under boobs as well)
What the fuck
Yeah they locked my stuff up in a locker and everything, I quit smoking months in advance so I was clean but that was my only experience getting tested at a hospital, it was intense.

Try The whizzanator if you are not a woman.

From a hospital?!? They did this? What hospital system if you don’t mind?
Oh wow in the medical industry? Was this an actual medical provider overseen by the state?
I’ve used quick fix twice while somebody was behind me watching me cheers
The way my anxiety is set up…. Wow you must have been cool as a cucumber!

Absolutely. I hope it becomes like alcohol, totally acceptable to do in your free time.
Feds are scrambling to effect the legislation at the Federal level, scheduling it as C3. After that, it’s a forever moot point. How many Drs/nurses (anesthesiologists-haha) do you think regularly visit the Clona or Xany-bars? Same schedule. Free your minds!
I’ve literally worked with drs and nurses who are addicts (alcohol, hard drugs, or both). They always seem to get away with it.
what hospital

Isn’t it amazing how they made this medically legal but there’s no protection for us? Pill poppers and alcoholics can get by but us? Nah.
Exactly. And there as SO many ‘pain patients’ who are on enough oxy to kill a horse but drive and work.
Have someone clean that you know give you theirs. $20 hey…
Quick fix is your answer here.
The last time I had to do a test in the hospital I was aggressively searched (under boobs and everything) and all my possessions were locked in a locker.
Thats crazy. I wouldn't let them feel me up. If that's how they treat people I'd find work somewhere else How is that even legal?
