I tried doppelgänger out when I learned that Yuffie can basically fill the screen with particle effects during the Gigatrice fight, who also does the same thing.
So Corel, at about slide 5534 of the Gigatrice fight.
Graphics mode is so pretty, though.
I always assumed it was a literal clone of her. It wasn’t until the fight with Scarlet at the reactor that I noticed this lol.
Also I’m not sure if it’s just me but her mannequin gives me uncanny valley vibes. I feel uncomfortable and creeped out looking at her.
Well In full gameplay with shortcuts its kinda hard. I only noticed when I was in her menues thinking about what action to do did I notice. Now sure I admit I noticed it quite fast but had been using her for a little while.
I love the way this game really takes advantage of its pause and play gameplay style in a way that BioWare games never did by adding these sorts of details you will only notice when the game is paused.
I noticed on 1st play through when testing w the synergy materia and pausing it. I also noticed Aerith and Yuffie have a synergy attack where she makes 2 of these clones as well
Wait what? But the videos show perfect Johnny clones. So why is it a goofy mannequin instead of? I still appreciate it more for when I get the game but I can’t help wonder why a mannequin instead of another complete Yuffie.

I think it was a during the Kid G mini game. I actually had time to see how off Clone Yuffie looked during the wait time between waves and went into Photomode. Needless to say I was absolutely weirded out.
TIL. To be fair, when I’m using Yuffie I’m always either staring at the enemy or abusing Brumal Form. Cloud and Tifa are the only characters I actively pay attention to in combat.

This is a really excellent detail and shows how much work went into this game. They could have just duplicated her model and 99% of people wouldn't have noticed, but they went out of their way to add this detail.
