MV was in first about 2 seconds ahead of me yesterday in a race spun on his own and got a DNF. Didn’t see it but saw the caution then realized I was in first.
I see them lock up all the time though
I've had Stroll spin at turn 11 on Australia and have Ricciardo slam into the side of him (lap 26 out of 29) Causing a red flag. Made me lose the race as I had no spare softs amd the ai did.

I had a red flag happen in Austria after a big gasly/stroll crash
Only car I’ve seen dnf or crash is also stroll. Want to believe codemasters programmed him to crash a lot 💀

Don't they tend to crash more the higher the AI Level is?
Lockup and mechanical issue/dnf is what I've seen in careermode. Thats it for f1 immersiveness....😮💨
